IF YOU WANT TO TREAT YOUR USED BELT AND
NOT HAVE TO REMOVE IT.
As rubber ages, it loses flexibility. Elevated temperatures exacerbate the reaction/high engine compartment temperatures. Rubber also degrades with exposure to ultraviolet radiation and ozone, a lightweight gas found in the atmosphere and caused by the partial breakdown of air from atmospheric electric discharges. Anti-aging chemicals/conditioners, activated by operating temperature, prevent premature cracking.
Here We Show You How To Condition Your Poly Groove Belt Or Alternator Belts So You Will Never Have To Replace Them Again.
This Method Is Easy To Do And Will Save You Many Dollars Over The Lifetime Of Your Car. Not Only Will You Not Have To Replace Your Belts You Will Not Ever Hear Them Squeak Or Chirp Again. SO LETS GIT ER DUN !

I will FULLY VOUCH for this process! At least for Windshield Wipers. Previously, I was replacing my wipers once a year or more and being car proud, I was buying the expensive Bosch wipers. I followed this process on March 6th 2019 and I still have the same wipers! Like new, zero signs cracking or signs or wear & tear! Can't thank you enough; my savings must be at least a couple hundred dollars at this point.

Awesome to know. I can do this to my car, but not my wife's., If i do this to her car, she won't see how important i am in here life. Imagine, if she never needs a belt, oil change, car detailed, tune up, Tire Rotation, etc. Making her belt or any car part last forever would make me useless, I can't have none of that 😂 Thanks again for a another great tip 👍

I've used 'belt dressing' in the past with limited results. I've actually considered doing this very thing to all of my accessory belts but was always a little concerned that it might did more harm than good. Nice to know that it works as I would've expected, even better, actually. I'm less concerned with the cost to replace the belts since it isn't usually THAT expensive or often they require replacement. However, anything that improves longevity/reliability is important to me. Thanks for the tip!

I have commented twice on youtube since I have been on here. Your videos and links are short, sweet, to the point, and deserve appreciation. And save a LOT of money and time. Have ordered the spray on for tires from your other video, gallon for belts and other stuff, dental tools for packing synthetic grease in the new bearings after disintegrating a tensioner pulley. We have 3 old Mercedes and through your links and videos I estimated I just saved over $1,500 in repairs (labor, parts store tensioners, belts, idlers, etc) on 3 vehicles as my son and wife's cars need new belts too. Replacing all belts soaked in 303 and packing new tensioner pulleys and idler pulleys for both along with tires, wiper blades, etc. Thank you so much for doing videos that get RIGHT TO THE POINT and giving actionable links in the descriptions with great pricing on the products you show. Very much appreciated

It's been a while since I originally watched this vid and followed what you said. Thanks man. This magic sauce is amazing! I used it on everything elses besides serpentine belts. I used it on wiper blade - extended service life from 3 to 18 months. My brand new Pitrellii tires quickly worned down from 11 to 8/32 in just 2000 miles, me I marinate my tires everytime I do an oil change and it's been over 50K I only went from 8/32 to 5/32 with very very very little dry rots. Man oh man, I used it on everything else too. New expensive shoes these days unless treated with 303 formula the outsole would wear out after 5 months. I'm a heal striker so the entire thickend most part would go flat in 5 months. Marinate it with 303 and after 3 years the outsole outlasted the shoes body. The body gave up before the outsole worn down! Holy crap I use it on everything around the house, I sprayed on soft pleather (PU) seat to slow down dry rot, pant belt, all of my car rubber parts(cv boots, strut boots, steering boots, engine mount, etc) , wheel barrel left out in the open sun. I live in the Mojave desert so we get pounded by sun UV - this product stood up to the test! What he said in this video is 100% accurate, I've time tested the product. It's amazing in 5 years this company has only risen their price on a whole gallon by $10 as of 2022. It's $60 now so that's not too bad considering how much you are saving. Just remember, the longer you marinate the product the longer it lasts. I usually go for 24hrs. Just be extra caution when using on shoes, it might strip away your vanish - just repaint it using polish Wally sells polish, cleaner, and valish all in one stick for $5

@SweetProjectCars
@SweetProjectCars 6 лет назад
We do not recommend using armor all it will actually remove the moisture overtime from the rubber the 303 is water-based that’s why we use that, we I have never had good luck over time with anything else other than the 303. Just keep your eye on your belt make sure it is not drying out. Have a great day my friend

A very good tip. Most people wont understand, that treating rubber will always make (and keep) it softer, thereby giving it a much better grip, without tensioning it way too hard. Thats also why a squealing belt instantly gets silent when sprayed with silicone spray. Thanks for the video !
@SweetProjectCars
@SweetProjectCars 6 лет назад
My friend I could’ve not said it better than you just did people have to understand soft pliable rubber lasts so much longer and it has so much more grip

@bsouza1675
@bsouza1675 6 лет назад
I bought some 303 and you were so right. 👍 Thank you! However, I would like to mention that we need to check the belt ribs with a rib check gage. The gage measures the depth and width of the ribs so that the belt does not get slippage. A modern belt can wear but not show cracking. A worn out belt can snap which can cause engine damage. Also, belt slippage can cause horsepower loss and impact alternator, water pump, a/c compressor inefficiencies. Belts are relatively inexpensive so treat them by all means but check them for wear. I believe that Gates and Continental have free gages. BELTS ROCK!

Thanks for the tip! I've been using 303 Aerospace Protectant on my car's plastic and rubber trim, for years. It's brilliant stuff, with 30+ UV protection. I didn't consider using it for belts. I would have thought the belt would be more likely to slip, because 303 Aerospace Protectant leaves a very smooth & slippery sheen. I've never seen it available in anything larger than a small spray bottle, either.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm in Australia. They seem to like to limit our portions to tiny sizes. I'm guessing it's partially due to less dense population (less market for larger containers) and likely because no-one's started selling larger containers of anything like 303, so us suckers continue to pay the high prices that go with small bottles. Have you ever tried the Auto Glym range? They have a glass polish that takes all that horrible film off the inside of windows and it works on the outside, after the normal cleaning. There's also a brilliant product for paintwork. I don't remember it's current name. It used to be called Auto Glaze. It goes on like a polish, but it actually has beads of glass in it, so it leaves paintwork even more shiny than the windows! (Need to be gentle applying it, though, as the glass beads can end up scratching the paintwork.)

Yet another great idea I never would have thought of. It makes perfect sense. You (should) condition all the other plastic and rubber parts on your car. Why not the belts? Reminds me of using glycerin on the rubber band on little balsa model planes when I was younger. This works, my mentor showed me this 20 some years ago (different product, almost identical ingredients). I've used the same rubber 100's of times w/o any problems as long as I rinsed thoroughly. The rest of the unopened, long expired box completely disintegrated years ago.

I just change my serpentine belt it had 110,000 miles on it. It had no cracks and look good. It was the factory installed belt. I changed it b/c the owners manual indicated it needed to be changed. I am what you call an outlier my car is a 2005 and I finally went over 110k miles. My wife still drives her 87 and it has 135,000 miles. I wish I had seen this before I changed it. @boostedsc4040 3 года назад
@@CRM537 you probably can but that stuff is like a detailing product for your car so if it gets all over the engine it might stain it or make it smell weird and you may not be able to fully coat the belt since it’s tensioned on the pulleys, but you probably can if you spray the exposed parts and dry them then go back and crank over the motor so the pulleys move the belt a bit then spray the dry parts and make sure to dry it off after spraying it and before you turn the car on or crank it over because that stuff will probably make the belt slip if you don’t dry it
@aaron_333
@aaron_333 3 года назад
It's not Armorall and does not behave the same. This stuff you can put on your steering wheel, allow to sit a while and then just lightly buff with a cloth and it does not turn the wheel slippery. It also has a matte look on the surfaces.

if belt is stretched from mileage and slipping then how can putting a liquid on it shrink it back or get it to grip like new? theres a treatment for engine seals that leak and have tried and it works by swelling the seal so ot don't leak, maybe that treatment woud work too but i question the strectched belt and it being oversized.

303 works on belts just like this guy says. I treat a new belt just the way this guy did. I don't pour the 303 back into the 303 container though, as I use it up on my tires and plastic surfaces like the dash or trim. Also, I, once in a while, directly spray the installed belt with 303 just for the insurance of added 303. Enjoy!

I started thinking about it... and realized that using 303 on the rubber of a speaker cone would keep them pliable and last much longer. The 303 would protect it from the ozone and heat and stop them from cracking and becoming brittle. Maybe something worth trying out??? I also use 303 on my tires after using a really good cleaner on them. It also protects them from UV and keeps them from getting dried out here in Cali

I flat out did not know this was an option. Belts, bushings, tires, buff it into weather stripping, buff it into a dash after restoring from any cracks (I'm guessing 'aerospace protectant' covers solar exposure), just 'wow'. Spend the money right the first time folks.

FixItYourselfAndSave It definitely will not hurt, but this specific product is not intended for exteriors because of the lack of durability. One rain or wash and it is completely washed off.
