Never Struggle with the Solar Pillar again!

Today I demonstrate how you can cheese the solar pillar. This short is mainly geared toward people that have to redo pillars a bunch while grinding for a Moon Lord drop or those that just want to get the event over with.

Some things to note:
Make sure you build the structure in the sky above the pillar, that way you can avoid enemies getting stuck underground or spawning behind you. Also, be careful about flying too high up while fighting the core because you'll aggro the crawltipede.
This same principle can also be applied to other events as well, so feel free to experiment with it.

Tbh in my opinion the solar pillar is definitely the second hardest while the hardest one by a mile is the nebula since all of those enemies beam you out of nowhere and deal like 400 damage a shot and combine with the fact you can't see ducking anything because of the blinding mother fuckers it's super annoying to deal with

@@ireallydontknow278 much easier said than done. Going on the ground puts you at risk of all the ground enemies. And there's also those times where muscle memory kicked in and you start flying despite the crawltipede that's RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!

the nebula pillar is harder in my opinion, since solar enemies can't go through blocks so you can just kill all of them with the stardust dragon, since the stardust pillar is the easiest to cheese

For the vortex pillar, you can just go inside a 2x3 box and use any minion or the stormbow to deal damage, and nothing can hit you.

I just use Vampire Knives and purposely let Crawltipedes spawn. They have negative defense so you can simply hit them and heal massive amounts of health. Because of this, the Solar Pillar is actually the easiest one for me.

Ive only beat moonlord twice as ive only started playing terraria again 3 months ago, but i felt like solar was the easiest to absolutely demolish. I only got that far with a melee build and a summoner build. The hardest has for sure gotta be vortex imo

I always found the vortex one to be the hardest mainly because of the flying shotgun dudes. Those hits are unavoidable sometimes especially with the gravity debuff

Ironically, this is the one I find the easiest as most of the enemies don't fly. The harder one for me is the pink one (can't remember the name as haven't played Terraria for a while)

For stardust, stay airborne and break star cells, before letting them regrow, and repeat. For the other two, try to stay on the move. For vortex specifically, KILL THE LARVAE.

For the vortex pillar literally just dig a 2x6 hole and just attack up That’s it that’s all you need to cheese it If you get attacked you aren’t putting enough damage above you

I normally do similar tricks with Wall Piercing weapons and Living Trees that my Solar Pillar ALWAYS spawns near. Idk why.

Personally when im grinding for more moonlord drops, i get into a cave (solar pillar spawned near a cave on one of my worlds, just dig a hole ig idk) and lunar flare the enemies

or just you know, spawn a rain cloud with nimbus staff right above the pillar and it dies in a min or two without u doing anything. This works with every pillar if it's shields are down

Vortex is easy to cheese, though. Just build a box on the edge of the Vortex Pillar's spawn zone, then get an Alien Hornet to chase you. Seal yourself in the box and wait until the Hornet evolves into a Queen, then kill it with something that can pierce walls or fits through 1-block holes (Hornets can't fit through those.). The Queen will leave behind 3 Alien Larvae. Let them evolve into Hornets, and then into more Queens, and just repeat the process as needed until the barrier goes down.

Makes sense depending on class / moodily Played a tank play through one time with friends and just has pure tank with wings, no dash or anything and I was eaten alive by the nebula pillar, instantly made ninja gear after that encounter lol

In my most recent playthrough, I killed Empress of light during daytime pre pillars, and the terraprism absolutely shreds the solar pillar so easily, easier than the other pillars I could just stand in one spot and all I had to do was whip fireballs so they didn't hit me.

The pillars give me nightmares, the first time I ever got to them I heavily struggled with the previous bosses (yes even the cultist), so I was heavily under prepared for the pillars

For me, a melee player. I reforge everything to get as much attack speed as possible and use terra blade to obliterate everything in my way. It was so satisfying to see everything get knocked back.

Little tip if you didn’t know you can craft a celestial sigil and as long as you have defeated golem you can spawn moon lord and all it takes to craft are the nebula,solar,stardust and vortex frgaments

The crawltipedes always get me, it took me forever to find their hit box which is their bottom. If you stay on the ground they won’t be an issue. I dug a small hole and used my solar eruption through the walls.

literally just find the sweet spot between where the healthbar appears and doesn’t then constantly go back and forth so you only have to deal with small amounts of enemies at a time, so if you lose health you can just sit and wait to regen where the enemies won’t spawn

Purple pillar has always been the hardest for me. Solar is real easy. In master mode I just plop down, tank it out and put on the golem stone to regen while drinking the occasional potion with food buffa

The hardest one without cheesing is the stardust. The hardest one in general I think is the nebula because you can’t sit in a hole and you constantly have to dodge random projectiles

The one i actually struggled to beat the most was the Vortex Pillar, its mostly because the Storm Divers dealt stupidious damage the first time i encountered and fought the Vortex Pillars, the 150 damage from their shots kept tearing apart, i managed to beat the Vortex Pillar eventually though, from a few tips from a fellow Terrarian ^^

I took the stellar tune and hide in a hole nearby the pillar, no enemies went through walls and I had a weapon that could get them through walls. Easy beat it

I feel like while solar is the most intimidating for newer players, nebula and even vortex are much more dangerous since they have enemies / lightning teleporting in randomly, as well as devastating vision / movement debuffs respectively

I get that the solar pillar is hard for some, but for me its probably the 3rd hardest for me. Stardust is obviously the easiest pillar to deal with, and solar isn't too bad for me either. Second hardest is vortex bc everything does so much dmg, but the hardest is really... The pink one. Nebula pillar. That makes me rip my hair out.

The solar pillar is the easiest. Just use something like a terra blade and now nothing can even touch you, there are mutch harder pillars, like the nebula pillar, that one is a nightmare, or the vortex one, thats kinda the same thing, and the stardust one is just annoying with all those worms chasing after you and then when you die there's always that big clump of cells and one of those flying squids just clumped up where you died, every time, its insane. I love the solar plillar its the only good one and it has no flaws.

Luckily my solar pillar spawns where I built my arena originally intended for queen bee. Realized it was better to fight in the hive and it basically turned more into my bloodmoon fishing arena. Most things can’t get into the doors, crawltipedes don’t target me even if they spawn (idk if the whole thing being walled has to do with it) and just shoot through the doors to kill anything stuck.

It's the easiest for me Because they are all melee attackers Just don't jump Stay on the ground and focus on the pillar even when the shield is still there While using a full horizontal melee weapon like the terrablade And they won't be able to touch you
