Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
We can also use other tools to remove hard ear wax, foreign bodies, peeling dead skin or for ear infection removal.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green.

Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

If there's a lot of hair, doesn't it keep the wax from coming out on its own? Also I want to say how grateful you show these and explain it out. I had to go to the gp because my ears were hurting after a tooth extraction. I told them I thought there was something in my ear. He looked said there was nothing in it. That night a huge chunk fell out. Either he lied or he don't no about the recess. Lol anyway after it fell out the fullness was gone and the pain diminished.

I totally understand how it isn't noticed. I wennt to my local emergency room for one problem, only to discover i had too many tumors in my lungs to count. I had a bit of a tearing sensation in my ribs. And a cough ive always had, no worse. Once i knew, i thought i was a complete idiot for not noticing. Truth is, its so very gradual, you dont realize a difference.

I love your videos! In regards to the percentage of people over 50 with hearing loss, I think in 20ish years it will be a lot higher. The walkman (I'm 30 so while I feel like I'm 18 I'm actually old) the iPod, iPhone etc and people using headphones so much more than they used too. Same with looking at devices more. So when our generation gets to 50, I think percentages of hearing and vision issues will start to climb and then will just keep getting worse as kids are getting iPads etc at crazy young ages.

Honest question: Is there a reason you didn't clear out the canal in front of the plug? I would think that clearing the mess out in front of it would help it slide out as well.
