The deal with the lyrics to "On A Plain" was Kurt had the music and the only lyric going into the recording was the hook part of "Love myself, better than you" so they needed to record the song quickly but Kurt didn't have any lyrics pre-written so he wrote a bunch of random stuff minutes before recording the song. The bridge part of "Somewhere I have heard this before..." was when Kurt thought his own melody sounded familiar and thought he might have been ripping someone off. The part where he says "One more special message to go, them I'm done" that was because it was the last song they recorded that day and he literally was going home after the song lol.

Thanks for the breakdown! I knew I liked the “love myself, better than you” portion for a reason 😅 it makes it a cooler song with the back story!

Endless nameless is “The Secret Song” on the vinyl or record whatever it’s called it comes 10 minutes after the album is done. Also endless nameless was a jam, chaos, song that they just randomly made when they were trying to record lithium but they just couldn’t get it so Kurt got mad and they started just jamming out and Kurt was smashing his guitar and stuff. So endless nameless was a song that came out from anger and frustration. Hope this helped!

Endless Nameless was played live was played live months before Nevermind was recorded so wasn't made up on the spot. The decision to play it was seemingly spontaneous though, during the first attempt to record Lithium, as you say ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N0HdB9UaUkc.htmlsi=BtwPmi6lVZ1VrPJF

Something In The Way is the last song on the album. Endless, Nameless was an un named hidden track that came in at 10 min after the last song. If you were to fall asleep listening it would wake your ass up quick lol …basically just Kurt trolling the listener. They would occasionally play it at the end of their show while smashing their gear. It’s meant to be complete chaos!

Endless, Nameless was a hidden track, you could say that Something in the Way is the official last song of the album

Spot on about Polly. A girl leaving a concert in Tacoma, Washington was kidnapped. The kidnapper, Gerald Friend, raped and tortured her. She pretended to come onto him as a ruse to get away. A horrified Kurt, who was a feminist, wrote Polly from the kidnapper's perspective. He did this to make it so uncomfortable for the listener that you would never forget the story. People didn't always get the message, which is why he wrote "*ape Me" for the follow up album In Utero. It's an anti-*ape song as well. He decided to be bold and direct with it that time.

Wow. There aren’t many words I have in response to this. I hate rape and it should never happen! Thank you for telling me more about the reason the song Polly was created.

Dude! Great reaction. It's rare someone actually critically analyzes the music and lyrics as well as you do. Instant sub from me 👍 Here are a few recommendations if you would like: Deathconsciousness by Have a Nice Life (shoegaze/post-punk project with a $1,000 budget that went from a humble underground release to becoming one of the genre's most acclaimed albums. Extremely unique in sound and texture.) Glow On by Turnstile (really, really catchy hardcore punk album from Baltimore. They mix in some dream pop elements as well which add some fun moments.) The Glow, Pt. 2 by The Microphones (beautiful folk album. It's pretty long but never overstays its welcome. Probably my favorite first 4 tracks on an album ever.)

Endless Nameless is an impromptu jam when Kurt was raging trying to record Lithium Edit: so you’re basically on point, it was all rage and chaos and tagged on at the end.

Sad to me that younger people only seem to understand the beat. The rhythm guitar is a much more interesting ride. For whatever reason, that was my instinct to follow from the first time I heard these songs. It soars.
