Thank you....it isn't free when doing these in-cars...you have to have multiple cameras, which aren't really expensive....but the exterior camera, audio editing...that adds up to a lot. I appreciate your recognition.
@TheDriveChannel ...haha, here in Brazil is more difficult to see those cars and your channel is excellent way for me to "feel" the cars. Here we have the culture of little engines like almost all European/Japonese daily cars. My car for example is a 2011 Renault Symbol with 1.6 16V engine (115hp with ethanol and 112hp with gasoline). Well, my dream car is the 535hp Nissan GT-R, but would cost twice its price in US here, plus the 1,85 ratio dollar/real. Keep up the good work!
Your reviews are great. And the mentioning of 500 hp is spot on. Those who don't understand it are mostly the younger people thinking they should be F1 drivers as you have mentioned. I think even far less then 1% are able to actually use all the 500 hp and that on a track, not on the streets or roads.
The Ferrari California, like most Ferraris, is a beautiful and exciting car IMO. You are right about most people posting comments do not own a Ferrari and most likely never will. I like the fact that it is an exotic car that can actually be driven everyday thanks to the extended warranty. Only time will tell if the California will become a future collectable classic. If I had the money, I would certainly buy one for my fantasy garage.
VERY beautiful piece of machinery, and that interior looks comfortable as all get-out! Overall, way sexy car! Thanks, Michele for taking us along on a test drive! Looking forward to more.
@EquinoxBR Workin on it...we have access to al the cars. We have to have the area to do it right. This one didn't have an area to corner and film. We're working out a deal with a small road course a few miles from here.....this is the direction we're headed.
Thanks for the vid, Michele. Too bad there really aren't many places in Tampa to enjoy a car like that. I lived there from 1989-2006 (still own a place in Brandon) and recall the only places to really cut loose were The Crosstown and the Gandy Bridge! Either case...too many cops!
Loved the video! and the sass behind your counter arguments. I really like where they have gone with the California in the past couple years and personally don't think it doesn't belong in the family. By the way, was this in the showroom? I didn't see it last year when i took a look in from outside.
I really can't stand when people say this car isn't a real Ferrari or it's a "woman's car" , I'll tell you I saw one at my job the other week at a marina where there's always very expensive cars, and not much has a presence like a Ferrari, and there is no exception for this car. it's gorgeous and it sounds amazing, not to mention it's definitely fast. I love this car
I like this guy. You can tell he’s a straight shooter, no bull shit type of person. I own a older Ferrari. A 360 manual spider. It’s only got 400 horse, and I fuckin love it. He’s totally right.
@Choncho661 Dont know why your comment was removed..but I agree with the V12 analogy. On the other hand...the v8's Ferrari is producing are potent and have a great powerband...the V12 isn't the only powerplant Ferrari should be tethered to.
@EquinoxBR We're working on it...these cars are just too quick to try and negotiate the city traffic....it's too dangerous. 3rd gear in that car is almost 100 MPH at full throttle.
It is more manageable, but the latest with the performance upgrade may make it a tougher car. One can only hope you saved enough for the 458.....for yourself, of course.
I've built 4 of them ranging from the V-12 to the V-8...the early one's were a bitch to keep from leaking oil....but really...it's a Ferrari and it was a joy building them.
Good to see you outta the office. :) this car has more power than anyone ever needs. Its not a track car. But being a ferarri, you hafta have some get up. My only gripes, the lexus IS-F exhaust tips. Id ditch em in a second. And the paddle shift too. I like rowing the gears myself. I drive a semi and never tire of shifting it. Call me dumb I know. :)
@Smigolturbo Thanks guys...wish we could have run it on some twisting roads...the cops showed up and we had to tone it down. Funny thing though..they loved it all and have shown us a road that's usually deserted and twisty...they'll even run block for us. I have a stunning silver Viper next week and an Italia...also a Super America. Wanted to do the Viper before the new one comes out.
@Choncho661 I don't think so....this car was a blast to drive, the engine had great torque, great sound and the car overall had excellent balance. There's a place for it in the Ferrari lineup.
I can imagine. I envy you, thats so awesome. Also, nice job on the video i enjoyed it i can only imagine how much fun it is to drive that, Chrysler navigation or not shes a beaut.
If you're really going fast...like track fast...you do NOT shift in the middle of a corner unless you're short shifting a sweeper. Nobody likes the paddles to turn.
Schools were on holiday and it was a Saturday, I also slowed down in that zone. It was in St. Petersburg, Florida...feel free to call the DA. The cops knew I was there.
@TheDriveChannel ...Awesome! Thats the right way! Driving around city is nice, but of course, if filmed in a proper area you can also made more tests etc.
@svdlmf For fun...my statement was that they're very, very few drivers that can wring all there is out of 500 HP. That's a fact. The overkill is a horsepower war between the super cars. I never said I didn't like it.
@flowride68 Exactly...we'll have to find an industrial park and set up a short course...I know a few people with that kind of space. That Ferrari hit over 100 in the vid...that was dangerous and irresponsible. Not doing it like that again.
@plazmixplazmix I felt that way as well...but when you drive it...you tend to change your mind. Almost everyone has had the same reaction. It's not an Italia for sure.
Thank you. ;-) Come over to Belgium and I'll take you for a spin on either Spa Francorchamps or the Nordschleife! We'd have tons of things to talk about.
You're wrong...this show will be changing in about 30 days...they'll be almost exclusivly in-car. Ferrari's, a McLaren, Astons, Spyker, Cadillac, Rolls, Porsche...access to all of them.
Well, this was supposed to be Maserati Coupe replacement. But it took so much cost to develop the 7-speed transmission, that they had to charge Ferrari price on it; hence, the Ferrari badge on this car.
if that picture at 2:40 is correct, then yes the navigation does look exactly like Chrysler. I know because my dad owns a dodge ram 1500 and we use it as our "family car"... my point?... i think Jeremy Clarkson knows what he's doing
Seriously though, I definitely see the celica in the California, but IDK why, I've never thought the california is a very good looking ferrari. Best looking are the 458, 512, or 308 IMO
"....plenty of women can out drive men..." I find this statement debatable. I would say SOME women can out drive men, but not "plenty". On a more relevant and topical note, that is a very, very nice car. I have to say I'm a fan of the rowdy American muscle cars, so I'd like to see a review of the new Shelby mustang and Camaro zl1 when available.
And one more quick thing...more than 500 horsepower is not overkill. When you say that, what you're saying is that "there is no need for anything more powerful than the least powerful current ferrari model. No need for Lamborghini, an AMG mercedes, a Rolls Royce. There's no need for the step above the exclusive. You say supercars don't need to exist. No Koenigsegg. No Pagani. No Bugatti." It's sacrilege, and I do not consider you a "car guy". Every car I listed, I'd have before the California.
