This video shows the new GE washer gtw220ack1ww wash action and spin cycle sounds and actions. Keep in mind this machine has a locking lid so the actual tub can't be seen while in wash.
Thanks for this video. It has so many weird sounds, I was sure there was something wrong with it. I absolutely hate the wash cycle. Liked my 20 year-old Kenmore much better!
I watched a lot of video reviews on newer washing machines made by different manufacturers and most all had some kind of loud noise. I saw one video where a commercial Maytag washer sounded about as loud as my GE washer which I found odd considering that it was a commercial made machine.
Watching this in 2021 because I couldn't figure out where to put fabric softener. So what I did was press the deep rinse button after it stops from the wash cycle the lid lock button comes off then you can add softener so I guess I'm investing in a downey ball. 🙄🤷♀️
Just hooked my new washer up.... sounds like a 87 Ford pickup failing to start. Apparently this is normal? No water. Blasting out anywhere and clothes seem to be clean so screw it. Budget buy anyway.
My apartment came with this bs however the fabric softener goes in the middle. Lift the center white piece off and there should be a dispenser to holder ther fabric softener... mine is missing🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Thank you,I've been looking forever for this info, just moved to a new apartment and has this washer and I couldn't find the softener place!!!so do I have to pull up the center of the spinner?
Look at this: products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18833 our dispenser cup is missing, too. All this time and we've been wasting fabric softener - 3 years!
@@mariam.5452 Apt mgr still hasn't figured out this machine so I still put softener in the cone. Be sure you press the "Deep rinse" button - supposedly that's what disperses the softener. When I put the softener in, it disappears. I keep hoping it's into a secondary holding tank. Will let you know if I find out differently.
@@mariam.5452 At this point, I'm just GRATEFUL to have a washer and dryer. For many years I lived without one - had to go to a laundromat. I like my home to be clean so my washer gets used A LOT. I buy softener sheets. So, I'm just saying it's good for me to remember how it used to be and how much better my life is now. ❤️
Oh you tease! Lol! Please take the lid latch off, place it down below and give us a real show of how it works, with the lid open. With a large load of brights/towels or a comforter. Thanks!
Okay I have a question because I like to put clothes softener on it when rinsing but I'm always late, how can I go back to that moment without washing everything from the beginning?🤦🏼♀️ i hate this washing machine
My son purchased this washer used and it only fills up a quarter of the way even if it’s a large load. The seller said it only outs a tiny bit of water in and that’s normal.
That's what I've read from GE support too. There's also a 'drip' system in the design that's supposed to help save water. I'm assuming the tub doesn't fill to cover the clothes but sprays/drips some during the wash?
Mine seems to cover my clothes, but BARELY! I'm fine with that. The only issue I've had since setting everything up is when I add 1/2 cup of baking soda (the large, laundry box has larger granules than what's in the small, refrigerator box), it will cake up and get hard, won't dissolve in the wash.
Sooo, that start/stop button, when youre ready to start the wash process, we just push it once, but if we want to pause/stop it during a cycle, we push and hold the button 3 secs? Then push it ONCE to continue?
I was trying to teach an 83 yr old mother how to use it. She has alzheimers and dementia and demands on doing her laundry. I actually had to write instructions 1,2,3 in order for her to understand. Not easy!
The waterflow to my unit doesn't come out as strong as yours does. How do i fix that problem? Also what controls do you set yours at to fill the tub with water?? Your help would be much appreciated!
You mentioned that your water flow doesn't come out as strong as the water flow in the video and I think that might have to do with the water pressure itself.
@@Rebecca_PR I'm still stunned, but its working now. That night i unplugged it becuz i was planning on going buy another one. so i woke up the next day and something told me to plug it back, and i did and it came on. Still going strong. I still dont know wat it was. Maybe it had to reset, I dont know. Maybe try dat.
did you ever figure this out? i just moved into an apartment and it came with this washer in cannot figure out how to use it. do you have to manually change to drain @ spin? mine won’t even spin
@@aprilstjohn3756 take the lid off the middle of the agaitor and when it goes into rinse without the lid is locked light on I'll put the fabric softener inside the agitator when the water almost fills up or better yet invest in a downy ball
There is no separate button for just rinse either bc I can't get the lid open.. see a drain and spin.. but um talking about a sep button just for rinse spun never seen a drain and spin..that's stuoid..stupid... should be a rinse and spin button by itself
There is a deep rinse option on some models, mine does. I am just learning for the first time in my life that's where the softener goes! Now I have to figure out how to clean it because Im renting
I'm sure there's a way to bypass the lid switch, but it isn't a typical switch compared to most top load washers. The switch doesn't just go downward, but it also 'folds' inward and has a 'split' design. Sticking a screwdriver into the slot won't work on this model.
Does anyone know how to just make the washer rinse? Or how do I put it in soak mode. My apartment building replaced my old washer with this one and I am so confused how to work it.
My 31 year old whirlpool died. Had a new one picked out until I saw the agitator didn't pull the clothes down. Got a Speed Queen that works like the old ones and lid doesn't lock. Yes it's more money but you pay for the warranty.
I had one of these washers. It was a total piece of shit. Wouldn’t fill up, wouldn’t get the clothes clean. Wouldn’t spin. Oftentimes the clothes weren’t even wet after the cycle was over. After a year of frustration I got rid of it and went back to a Whirlpool.
You can disable the lid switch You can remove 2 screws and then place the switch in the lower slot to have the machine run . You can lift the lid and watch agitation at your peril. You have to put the square lid latch in and out to change settings or start .Dont lose the latch . I use white duct tape and some slack to pop it in or out without losing it in wash
I have the 330 and hate it. Bought 6/17 and it's broke four times, three were lid locks and now it won't drain or spin. I'm beyond livid. Stay away from ge!!
Mine is about 1/4 full of water and the be door lock just clicks on and off, no matter what I they to do to reset it. I just now started looking for answers. I've tried to unplug it, and open the lid 6 times to do this reset I keep hearing about, but it changes nothing. I emptied the water out and it's still doing the same thing. This has happened before and I've had the water screen in the back clogged up a little and it's simply not putting enough water in it to wash clothes without bunching them up only half way wet with no water in the tub, at all say I've been using a water hose to fill it up half way with water and that seemed to work, them a relative came over and washed a big load and then the next time I went in to wash clothes I run into this again. I did notice that the door lock was wet, but it's late so I'm going to let it dry and try to get it going tomorrow. Do you know anything that I can try with your experience with the same Washer, almost as I got? Thanks
You sure got that right put a need lid lock and striker on it and can't get it to reset tried all the videos and they get you so far and leaves you in the wind
I need a video on a GE GTW330ASK4WW ON how to reset this washing machine been working with it for 2 weeks bought lid lock and stiker both wont spin drain or lock please help
Tango are modelo. No tiene ni 2 años y ahora cuando comienza el ciclo de centrifugado suena como una turbina, muy fuerte. Y cuando termina el ciclo tarda en dejar de dar vueltas
I wait til it starts to go into the rinse cycle. I then put it on pause, put in the softener and let it go for a few minutes. I then put it on pause again for about 5 minutes and then put it back on for the rest of the cycles.
Just got this from my warranty company after they couldn't get a part for my kenmore ( was a good one). I do not like it. doesn't come with softener dispenser, too much noise, can't open the lid half the time, and rinse cycle doesn't fill all the way, unless you push the softener button. too weird. why try to be so different.
I have this washer and I am having some issues with it. When I press the start button the lid lock clicks a few times but nothing else happens. It does not even fill with water. Removing the lid lock allows it to fill but not agitate or spin. I noticed that when the lid lock it plugged in, touching it will shock you. Do you think replacing the lid lock would fix this problem or is the problem with the control board?
On the cloths directly . I use pods though. Soon as you put them in you can toss the pods or detergent in. Then ok wash cycle I pour my fabric softer in . They come out very fresh and with a lovely smile ..
This is the worst washing machine to purchase. It's so sad when your kid walks to the laundromat because our washer will light up but not start. Rip off Where does the fabric softener go???!!!!!!!
