This is my 5th jeep In this old lady's age And the top was completely different for me but watching him go through this he makes it look simple and easy And I'm very grateful
Thanks. There are a ton of video showing how fast you can do it, but you show more in depth of how its done. I appreciate that. Still only 11 minutes to take off AND put on, with explanation. Can't wait til mine gets out of Toledo.
I'm looking at purchasing my first Jeep Wrangler and this video makes taking off a soft top look very easy! I appreciate the detail that was given. Great job!
Excellent video. Just parked one (same granite color) in my driveway. Jeep absolutely nailed it on this design. Thanks for posting this, super helpful.
Excellent video. I’ve seen others but you actually show how to put it all back together after taking it apart. I bought my Jeep a couple months ago when it was getting cooler in Chicago. This give me the confidence to strip it down in the spring. Thank you for posting.
This video is excellent. Much easier than the ridiculous JL owner's manual. Thanks for making it look easy. I'm glad I spent the extra $$$ for this top on my new Rubicon.
Excellent reference to go back to when you've had your top off for awhile and you need a quick refresher. I'm in Tucson, Arizona and the top is off many weeks because of the great weather!.
Most people dont show the full steps or dont know about it. The top does go all the way down and the track arms are connected to the top next to the back rollbar, they can unsnap and go down further so no track arms in the way. Also they have a lock for the top down so it doesnt raddle in the wind, theres lock switches behind the rear seatbelts.
Thank you very much for the very thorough video. I know there are a lot of people out there they're having trouble with the new system when they are used to the old one. Job well done!!!
I've watched several of these soft top removal videos and am glad I watched this one first. I wasted my time watching all the others. It's obvious this guy knows what he's doing compared to the others.
nice vid my man, I'm in the process of getting a 2 door SL love it. LOL but it's yellow. LOL. I have a zippered soft top TJ and like having the ability to leave my bimini style top on the hiway keeping sun off but having the side and back panels off as I do. Awesome tutorial for the new rails THX
Thank you so much... Super easy to follow and I did the uninstall today with this video and made a whole lot of difference since I previously tried other videos with no much success.... Will try reinstalling later with the video
My JK vs JL comparison (for me, a 2 door Rubicon soft top) My JL pros -possibly the new 2.0 engine (I also like the Pentastar) -8 speed transmission -quicker throttle response -soft top without ‘cross bar’ -soft top no zippers -quieter soft top -body color roll bar -flat horizontal dash -lighter/aerodynamic tweaks = better MPG -real metal interior detail -real hardware (not faux bolts) interior -larger cup holders -air vents for cooling under hood -more slant in windshield (think rock damage) -doors stay opened -cabin is slightly longer -doors remove easier/faster -telescopic adjusting steering wheel -bigger storage tub -stronger and lighter tailgate -better hood latches My JL cons -auto start/stop (I know it can be disabled) -the bumpers (front and back) -front running lights on fender flare -too much digital visual “noise” on dash -rear camera (I know I can take it off - and I will) -no hard drive in radio to store music -looser steering -the $ cost $
Great video well explained....i think this is not convenient if it suddenly start to rain .. that take forever to close it and then it stop to rain removing all this back..
Have you ever had any problem unlocking the soft top? I tried installing my soft top today but couldn't because I couldn't unlock the drivers side:( The passenger side locks and unlocks fine but not the drivers side. Can't seem to find any information on how to fix it:(
What is the max speed can drive with top folded back half way? I thought there is straps to tie down? Most of the time I would only fold back half way and leave on panels. If the vehicle is garaged majority of the time, what is the life expectancy of the softop? My biggest concern is security. Thieves damaging to get into the vehicle. Your thoughts please.
Skodz Gaming they made one for 2019, it’s basically a convertible roof, but you can’t remove it any further after it’s fully extended. You also can’t take off the doors as Jeep says it’s terribly hard to line up the rail system that the roof operates on, which would make it defective. It’s also only available for a “hard top” style roof.
Maybe I'm missing something. But hypothetically if a thief wanted to steal something from inside the car, would it be as easy as them just popping off the windows like in this video? I didn't see a lock or interior release or anything.
Do you have to twist the bar above door (on back) I tore my top a bit. And I obviously don’t want to break that bar opening it. The guys at dealer didn’t know how to open it either.
Great tutorial, but just a word of advice for owners... lay all of those windows as flat as possible. Notice the wavy "loose" look in the windows. It's because they aren't laying them flat.
