FRFR these fucking laptops are expensive, the base not so bad but you already know you need to up that storage and man once you jump upa tier, its stressful lol
Man. I'm just searching for a laptop to buy for college and I stumbled upon this gem of a RU-vidr. You were an instant subscribe. I never had so much fun yet felt so well informed by a RU-vid Video. 👍
I bet the 16" model was delayed to completely redesign the keyboard, while this version was shipped as a stopgap measure. It wouldn't surprise me at all.
What folks seem to misunderstand is that just because the macbook can export video fast does not necessarily mean that it has great performance. What about the realtime performance instead of CPU performance? Almost everyone doing review of these systems mainly offer the review based on the video editor's perspective. What about the people who use the macbook for Music creation and music mixing. We could care less about how fast it can export a video. We care about how many plugins can we run and are there any memory leaks. With video editing, you make an edit then preview. You make a new edit or some changes, then preview. Music creation however and music mixing is all real time. We add eqs ,compression , change it and place it back ,choose other plugins or even make edits all on the fly and in real time. There are more pro users out here than just photo editors and video editors. The 2013 Mac Pro was frowned upon for having allegedly low performance but no this is not complete true. It had low performance for folks doing video editing but for audio post, music creation and mixing, the system was incredible. There is one and sadly only one video of this Mac Pro 2013 machine shown running logic ( the most resource hungry daw )and it ran it flawlessly. The man worked hard to make it struggle. Yeah after like over 100 tracks with instances of Kontakt loaded then yeah it started to slow down but not once was there seen any CPU flags that usually come from logic when you run out of resources. I just wish there where more reviews for NON video/ photo editors so that we audio folks can also have some information pertaining to what's good and what's not. I had in the past rejected the idea of the MacPro 2013. However not any more. Thus the MacPro 2013 will be my next purchase. The one thing that no matter how great Apple laptops are now days, there will always be the inevitable need for battery replacement. This sucks This particular macbook is great however I would never see it much as it would sit under my desk and be used like a desktop. So I just decided to get a desktop machine instead. I don't know why Apple seems to not be able to just build laptops that don't have continuous issues related to graphics. I have noticed that the laptops that don't have dedicated GPUs tend to be immune from the graphics chip failures or issues. I could be wrong though.
I have the 15 in. This is my 1st Apple product ever. I an android and Microsoft girl. It's taking some getting used to. Its beautiful tho! I was torn between this and the Microsoft surface book 2.
I’m surprised! This channel was amazing from the get go but thejuanandonly keeps getting better and better and better! Kudos to you, you will reach 25K subs in no time
Why'd you feel bad, was it because of the price or were you disappointed in the performance, or was it overly complicated for what you wanted, I'm currently searching for a laptop to get within the next couple months so a reply would help lol
When you mentioned that Apple charges an extra $2,000 for 4 tb ssd that blew my mind. Unapologetically expensive, yet desirable machines that call users like sirens from the Odyssey. Great video. I just ordered a 2019 MacBook pro 15 inch on eBay for $860 with an i9 and the 560x gpu. Just wait a couple of years for depreciation to hit.
Hi, nice video👌🏻 So 3 questions, 1. How much is the difference between these two? 2. The 18 one has keyboard issue or is it solved? 3. Can you please perform some heavy render in your comparisons? It would be nice to see.
I only subscribed because you gave me a different perspective on the purchase of this expensive and well nice-looking laptop, you do say good 💩and real. Keep up the good work... looking forward to another comparison of the same top levels of these 2019 MacBooks 15 in at the default configurations.
bzhu9570 I’m thinking the same too tbh- Windows PC sounds really tempting these days (esp. thanks to my friend who keeps recommending it to me). However, I’m a bit too used to Machintos by now that I’m a bit hesitant in going back to Windows :’)
Mine too! But I don’t know if buy one of these new macbook pro 15” or wait another year to see the new generation of macbook, with a 16” new model and new processor made by apple and not by intel....
Just wondering, does the i7 model suffer overheating or not, see some good deals for the older 15" model than the new 16" model? Just don't want the thermal problems of the i9.
Ever since I’ve saw the M1 MacBook Pro 2021 I didn’t like the side ports I’m more comfortably with 4 USB-C thunderbolt ports since there’s hubs to add in more USB-A and SSD card reader and also Ethernet port to have 1000 MBPS. I didn’t like how they took out the Touch Bar as well this is a much better laptop then today’s in my opinion regardless of improvement
Yahir Velez - I personally have used a 15” MacBook for the last four years and it was fine for travelling with on a daily basis, not too heavy but the extra size was preferable for me me anyway. I am looking forward to seeing the possible 16” MacBook in 2020!!
People are suckered in these days by the newest product it's called marketing which apple is good at.Me i always wait until these machines go down in price then buy it.I'm not a video editor and don't mind buying a 3-4 year old MacBook Pro once the price has dropped significantly.
G’day Juan, you touched on 4K video editing in your video but I’m wondering if you can give me a little more info? I can’t decide if I should get the base 8Gb of 16Gb upgrade. I edit using 4K from my GoPro but my videos are usually quite short ~10mins and I’m just a casual user. Is the 4K editing performance okay with only 8Gb? How long does the video need to be before it uses all of the available ram? Cheers.
Is 16gb of RAM enough in 15 inch Macbook Pro 2019 for graphic intensive tasks(Such as 4k Video editing, Video editing, photo editing/RU-vid videos) and everyday business and casual tasks ? And with graphic card I should go with(The base Graphic card or Vega 20) in Macbook Pro 2019?
can i ask a serious question? i'm considering trading in my 2017 5k imac and getting the refreshed 13"mbp. thoughts? the only reasons i'd want to hang on to the imac is for the 27" 5k display, no t2 chip, and user upgradeable RAM; but there are so many other things going against the imac. i would like to think apple is going to refresh it sometime in the next year? or less? the looks are dated, which i don't care that much about in and of itself, but if a redesign comes with upgraded I/O, that's something I'd want. It's also got the same old ass BT, not even an option for 10gig ethernet (not that I can make the most of it, but it's like a $90 upgrade on the mac mini), the vega 48 seems like an overpriced and lackluster upgrade, and they leave so much empty space on the inside, which could have been used for a secondary fan(????), which would seem like a smart idea for a computer with heat issues... desktops are going out of fashion, and mobile productivity is the present and the future. But I still do enjoy the desktop experience. I figure that with a MBP + TB3hub + egpu + external storage, I can get similar performance (if I go for the 15"), plus portability. As far as why i'm looking at the 13" mbp is because I can almost trade them for each other straight up (maybe a few hundred on top for upgraded RAM and SSD). Ideally I'd like the MBP 15" with the vega 20 and 32gb RAM and a larger SSD thanks to the price drops. But because of the nightmare stories I've seen relating to the keyboard and thermal throttling, it seems like a big risk to spend that much money on a laptop, especially with the rumors of a new MBP with a keyboard going back to the scissor mechanism... even if it ends up being in an even higher tier pricewise. Also, the vega 20, while better than the radeon pro, is still pretty underwhelming. Should I just wait to see what Apple releases for new imacs or mbps? The problem with this is that my trade in value is going to sink fast. No I'm not a "power user", but if I'm going to invest this kind of money on a computer, I want it to have a little more longevity. To be honest, I've had a hard on for the MBP for a while, but the price to performance seems... blehhhh... plus the aforementioned throttling issues and crap keyboard (tbh i like typing on it, but i dont want to deal with having to get it repaired all the time). I'm so torn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
$3,475.36 I just spent on my macbook pro the one with the Radeon Pro 560x I got 16gb ram & 512ssd 15.4" 512gb is good for me that is what I use for my hp envy 17t 4k laptop & I bought a Ipad air 3 256gb version 10.5" one
The last comparisons saying is it worth upgrading from last to this years model is kind of pointless. The small upgrades are usually just for those people who haven’t upgraded for years. I know this video is old but just making a point
I'm really disappointed with the massive battery drain issue of this model, the laptop is only a couple of weeks old. I did all the measures possible, and the problem still remains. Now it is in for repair, unbelievable.
Thank you for the review of the MacBook pro 15" Do you recommend a laptop with 512 SSD storage? Or should I get one with 1T storage. Please advise. Thank you.
87 watt usb canot properly power all 8 cores gpu sad screen modem memory all at the same time without throttling for extended times but for short stints or mostly gpu or mostly gpu is fine, especially without and external display.
Hey MMAKO! As a young channel, when I made this video I had about 5,000 subscribers and didn’t have enough for a good quality mic. If you check out my newest videos, since then, my audio quality has improved. Thanks for the feedback though 😁
Hello Sir, I am planing to purchase Macbook pro i9 package 2019, Is it risky to purchase it? Because i heard about keyboard failure and heating problem? Kindly Suggest Please, I am graphic designer and i really need to purchase an high end Macbook pro. Right now Using Windows laptop and really fed up from windows. kindly Suggest Thanks
Just upgraded from 13” base spec MBP to the new 15” 2019 MBP with 1TB SSD. Smooth move? I couldn’t stand the 8gb of ram or the 128gb ssd any more I was maxed out from day 1. Hopefully this helps. I don’t do video or audio but I do like to run a lot at the same time and run Lightroom for photo enhancement. I also run VMs and coding software frequently for school.
George Hernandez I kept the standard specs besides the SSD. so it came with 16 GB of RAM. 2.3ghz 8 core 9th gen processor. Radeon 560x graphics card. Thank god I upgraded cause my most recent class required me to run 2 VMs side by side. No way i could have done that with 8GB of RAM and only 128 GB SSD. Even running the 2 VMs, it’s pretty smooth running. I think it’s great for IT. I’d like to run parallels rather then use VMware though. I would have liked to upgrade the ram but it was getting expensive. I dont care much about graphics cause I don’t edit video or do any gaming. I wouldn’t upgrade the processor, it’s not necessary and the upgrade is a rip off.
The SSD is still soldered to the logic board and the battery is not replaceable without replacing the Top Case. Not so smart, especially not in a “Pro” computer.
