AikarambaNorway based on your response you clearly have to taste or class. ALL of these idiots worshipping the OLD 1 Series, I was at my dealer the other day and there were 4 140s sitting there unsold, bottom line is no one bought them., the packaging and interior are junk
Don't believe the nonsense until you drive it for yourself. Almost missed out on a great car by jumping on the "it's not this its not that bandwagon". It's a brilliant brilliant car. If you can, drive it for yourself and make up your own mind. Looks still not convinced but can't really fault it driving and performance wise.
I've got one, love it. Had an older m135i (6 pot) and an M240i coupe too, but as a daily driver (had it just over 5 months), it's light years ahead in both interior and tech/comfort. Also, the power is putting it down in all weathers rather than just the dry and the launch control is brilliant fun. Go and test drive one, if you like it buy one, stick a Remus system on (I've done that too) and enjoy it 👍
@@bloodstockvip2176 Great to hear that bro. I saw many negative comments on the m135i but that doesn’t bother me...cuz i had my Testdrive and also in my case the car is more than enough for me. So i guess u have the 2020 model? Is the sound so bad? Or is it sporty enough from in and outside? I drove a 2019 model and sound was good. But how about the pops and bangs?
@@JohnDoe-uy3es mine is the 2020 spec so post pops and bangs removed but they pop like crazy still on warm startup and downshifting 3 to 2 to 1 (loud one bang each time at 3k revs or higher) then I decided to go Remus Sport system and now it makes a better note. No pops like the 2019 models I test drive though the rest of the cat makes up for it 👍

I'll be going from a Cupra ST when my 135i arrives and 3 growing kids in the back in beginning to wonder if there will be enough space for them in the back 🤔
They could of engineered the bangs and rumbles on upshifts. Its the main reason why I bought my Cupra ST was for the DSG bangs. I had the resonator cut out to make it louder I have a M135i on order and the noise of the exhaust is putting me off! I've never even driven one either........ I know the non European M135is have the bangs on upshifts
Love my 3 door m140i when the time comes if they don't do a full M 1series I'll look toward the Z4 m40i as I don't need practical....I need fun and exciting this car sadly doesn't do it. Please BMW do a full M car down the line, give hot hatch lovers something rather than losing them to Mercedes and Audi
You know how the US version has the pops and bangs on upshifts where as the europe versions don't is there a way to get the pops and bangs coded into it?
I really love this car. Sure it's lost that glorious straight six motor, but it would be too expensive. As for the demise of its RWD, is it just me, or does anyone else think being able to get all that power down in anything other than bone dry weather is a good thing? Having owned numerous BM's, I've found the RWD massively fustrating. I believe that anyone who likes to slide and drift a high powered car on the public road, or do donuts and handbreak turns in their local supermarket car park does not deserve such a fast machine
@@licenseplate8699 I'm a BMW driver and go on skiing trips every winter, never had problems driving in snow not here, not in the mountains and resorts. In fact, I'm on allseason, so either others don't know how to drive on snow or run on summer tires 🤷🏽♂️
1 the old m140i had a single turbo not twin turbos people mistake twin power as twin turbo it just means it has a twin scroll turbo fitted. 2 the new bmw m135i has 450nm of torque not 420. The m140i you drove had an uprated exhaust system of course its going to pop and bang on down shift and fart on the up shift. Also the 69 plate your driving sounds really good compared to the new 70 or 21 plate cars as the silly European Union forcing manufacturers to fit a GPF to petrol cars now has killed the sound on all cars bar the larger v6s and v8s. Also limiting the amount Db's an exhaust can be they are quieter than your next door neighbour pulling her bin down in the morning. Regulation is killing the car industry. Aftermarket is the only way to go these days. In the future all cars will sound boring from the factory blame the European Union for that.

@@antwindies12. no need and it’ll be too powerful. A remap of the B58 gets over 420bhp and the rear wheels would be able to cope with any more than that.
Similar engine to my engine (by similar you mean it has loads more power and torque? :) Re the sound welcome to 2020, I expect every car review to get panned now, there are no pops, bangs and burbles allowed. All complaints to Brussels.
This video is a good example of why nobody should buy a second hand one of these which has a UK registration number beginning with Y, All UK BMW press cars have this prefix and have been throttled to death by loads of different reviewers. FACT!
There is nothing good sounding about any 4-pot. Even 3-pots sound better. *Emissions Excuse* - in a world where BMW is pumping out twin turbo V12's (Rolls Royce). Porsche gave the same excuse for the Boxster, and that 4-pot killed sales ... ergo, why do you think the new 718's now have 6-pots?
Phillip Langrish I believe that’s just for standard spec. Speccing anything but colour puts this car in “super car tax” - not great against it’s rivals.
Due to poor sales they have had to bring in cheap pcp deals already. It is overpriced at 40k+ plus but they have been forced to bring in 399 pcp deals. A35, Golf R and S3 are superior in every way, hence why you dont see any 135i around..
@@philliplangrish7931 utter rubbish, go see/drive them all ! BMW have managed to build the worst "warm hatch" around. With the new Golf R and S3 inbound itl be even further behind its rivals
I drove all of those cars mentioned and the 135i is ahead easily. The only thing which it’s beaten on is the interior of the A35. However many A35 owners have had many issues with their cars and claimed warranty work within 2 months of ownership
Zak Pearson I completely agree and I am fortunate to have owned the S3 and the Golf R amongst many others. Also I currently own the M140i shadow edition and yes I agree the uniqueness has gone but I do prefer the M135i. Not because its new because I use my M140i regularly but it is so much easier to drive and gives you more confidence. Most owners of the M140i will talk about being rear wheel drive and the fun you can have around corners but I can guarantee that most M140i have never kicked the back end out and if they have they must have crapped themselves. It is a fantastic engine no doubt but I am old school in my belief that a hot hatch should not have a massive engine. It should be a 2.0litre engine, compact and practical. None of which fit the profile of my M140i but does fit the M135i.
Dipesh Patel yeah I know when you’re coming from mate. I owned the M135i (same shape as 140i) and currently own the new M135i x drive. Everyone is just jumping on the bandwagon to slate the new 135 but unless they drive one then it’s irrelevant. I personally think it looks great and the upgrades internally is enough to make the switch from 140i. The only downside I have is that it isn’t loud enough for me but that is getting changed very soon
4 cylinders? Kidding me... never pay such a premium for a lame 4 cylinder sound engine. Better alternatives than BMW. Would go for the X1 with a 6 cylinder engine.
Stay at home mate. Why bother ignoring guidelines for a few hundred viewers? Loads of stock roll for this underwhelming car. Wrong time for people to be buying cars now anyway. I predict a big drop in second hand and even pre-reg cars in the next few months as people living month to month can't afford their PCP installments. I was going to buy a 981 Cayman GTS a few months ago, but decided against it as. 1. You can't drive it as much as you'd like. 2. Prices will come down.
Not so sure. Found that all the deals are now gone on just about everything, as manufacturers have drastically cut production. As a result, hardly any stock left, long delivery times and dealers not getting the discounts to pass on to us. Can't see things changing for a long, long time
