You're going to love it bro! Have your favorite preamp ready to go, so you can plug it right in. Use the NFB knob! It gives it presence and brings it to life! :)

The Ceres is definitely sick. I'm running my 8 string into a TC integrated preamp clone, Ceres, Mooer Radar, Orange power amp into a 2x12 with Celestion F12x200 frfr speakers. It's absolutely mind blowing.

I've owned a KSR Vesta for a short while and have already decided that I am going to sell off my old Mesa/Boogie DC-5 and pickup a KSR PA-50 to pair with my Vesta. It's just more versatile and more modern. This is the way of the future for people who still want to gear it and stay off the computer crap!

Love the channel..this is my go to for finding quality gear and reviews! Got my PA50 in purple Sparkle here in the EU about a month ago. I love it, but have some serious GAS for an Ares..call me more classically minded with gear. It's looking for a new home if anyone is having trouble getting one. I love the purple sparkle PA50! Do you have the KSR Ceres pedal? I feel like that combo is fundamentally the KSR Ares but if you get the Ares, you'll love it. I hope someone reaches out and grabs your PA50! It's such a brutal poweramp!! :)

@@louistorres I believe you on the similarities between the Ares and the PA50. We don't have direct access to KSR Gear here in Germany generally..so it's more a buy and then try situation. I am by no means disappointed with the PA50, paired with the Ceres it is brutal indeed. What I can say for sure is that I've been dreaming of a KSR Ares since they released them and if the Ceres and PA50 combo is a near match then I'm confident about the move. There is just something about the physical presence of a tube head as well. Appreciate the fast response and advise. Your channel has helped me out many times with making the right calls on gear. So thank you for being active and offering a platform for us like minded individuals to share the love for all things metal. 😎

I'd like to see a cheap pre amp ran through it....moorer or something. I have never messed with pre amps or power amps, but i think for gear heads, it's the way of the future.

Thanks for posting! Question, whats the actual difference between a preamp and a "regular" pedal, like a distortion/OD/boost? Is it output level or an EQ somewhere in the circuit? Looking through my pedals I have a Benson preamp, but your video with the metal zone got me thinking about the other dirt boxes I have. Much appreciated!

The incredibly short of it is that a pre-amp is meant to be used either with a power amp (like in the vid) or plugged into the return of your amps effects loop, effectively bypassing and replacing your amps pre-amp. They aren't really designed to be used in front of the amp like a distortion pedal. A typical distortion pedal just goes in line, in front.

Like any tone - strings, tuning, pickups, preamp, poweramp and your personal settings will make everything work.

I have an idea! Can you use the peppers pedal to shootout the same preamp on two different poweramps (Mooer Tube Engine VS this new KSR poweramp)?

Yes! I totally agree that it needs a built-in sim next. Not sure if he's going to keep making these or moving on to the rack mount version which would be perfect with a two notes CabM inside! And no, I haven't tried the PA25 and I actually don't think I know anyone that bought one. I literally know 30 guys who bought one but they were the PA50. For the extra $100, the 50 would be better to have. I think. :)

Ive never understood why all amps dont have an adjustable negative feedback loop. Its so easy to make it happen. That said, ots really easy to xhange the negative feedback loop in a amp. Just locate the nfl circuit and swap out resistors u til you jave wahat you want. But, at the point, why not just pop in a potentiometer and whambamma whanker jam......bad ass amp you will have.

The KSR PA50 has 6L6 tubes and yes. KSR Ceres to the KSR PA50 and out to my Mesa 412. :)

It's a poweramp. An amplifier has both a poweramp and a preamp section. With this poweramp, you can use any preamp you'd like to use: I have a Soldano SP77, R&R SL/ LD, KSR Ceres, Two Notes Le Lead, Marshall 9001, Marshall 9003, etc. The two combined make up a total "amp."

Bro, you're going to love it a ton! Super convenient to use and you can use it at bedroom levels too, without an attenuator! Get all your preamps ready and use your favorite overdrive to run as a boost. :) So glad you picked one up! Wait until it arrives!!

The Diavlo is a great amp that I upgraded after using the RD1H. If you find an inexpensive RD100, get it! It rips!

I have an rd40c combo and love it honestly...been debating on a big boy amp to get and thought seriously about the gargoyle for a while (and still may) but lately i"ve been thinking, i love the sound of my rd, why not stick with what ya know. It's tiny and definitely designed to have a smaller footprint to use with one preamp and two cabinets. This thing is really small and even if they wanted it to be stereo, there's no space for it internally. My tube Marshall 9000 Stereo poweramp and Mesa 2:90 must be 90lbs each and take up four spaces in a rack. Hard to fit stereo into something this small but the good news is KSR have been working on a single rack space, stereo 2:50 or 2:100 tube poweramp!
