I've been keeping an eye on Rotax powertrain and noticed an outboard motor (S150??). The electric stuff almost seems sane when looking at the range of products.
Its an outboard that hides behind the rear deck of pontoon boats but it’s a horrible idea that will flop before the end of next boating season. Why would you ever want to put an engine basically in the water
Can i hook up a trolling motor to the pontoon boat? I like getting into the shallow area's with mine. I can't lie. I've dinged a prop here or there over my 20 years on the water. If i take the seadoo model to the sand barge in the middle of my lake to hang at party island. How much will my repair be if i suck up a stone, vs $100 prop i can get on and off myself in under and hour without pulling the boat out.
It's looking likely that they will be putting the 130 hp 1630 from the GTI in it in the coming model years, at least that's what their reputation hinted at when talking to Kevin Shaw at the watercraft journal. The development team have admitted that they successfully swapped the 300 Ace into one and it held up but said it was too insane to sell to the public. I wouldn't be surprised if in next year or two we see a Spark Trixx-X. And if we do the only difference between the 130 and the 170 is a tune.
Guess they got tired of Kawi always being the Top Dog every year on HP and ocean racing. And always being referred too as the Sink-Doo. So now you can get a 325hp sink-Doo. Lol
