Corrections
- you cannot move the shield for the RDS. The pair of holes above the pair where the shield pivots are merely detent holes for the detents on the shield.
- I don't have a G34 to check fit, so I cannot verify fit for that model pistol in this model holster.

Safariland says you can remove the shield, I wonder why you could not? Also, that looks like the g17 version, the g34 tens to be flush (kydex wise) with the light channel

With the suede liner, you’ll have a real hard time drawing if it gets wet.

I work North of Seattle. It rains a lot here. Have used Safariland 6280, 6004, 6360, 6790 holsters on duty with Sigs, Glocks, 1911s, and Glocks again for the past 20 years and not experienced that as a problem.

Depends on the vendor, I think. I used to order through HolsterOps and they had that info listed, but they have since sold to Safariland.

Very easy to remove that secondary hood that keeps the lens clean and just use it like a normal 6360. This is what I have done, which I prefer greatly, and have found no ill effects, going on 18 months now, wearing every day on duty.
