New A500 (Amiga 500) Mini Computer Review - Gamester81 

We loved these in the UK, cousin had one so many great memories playing Worms and Shadow of the Beast.

For a few months I've been trying to look up your videos again I thought that you might be inactive but I didn't remember your name exactly correct so I'm glad this popped up on my feed

The Amiga 500 was my first PC back then when i was a kid

Mama Mia Gamester81 has been active on RU-vid for almost 15 years man. I remember him shouting me out for his 500 subscriber video. It's Jinclops lol. Wondered if you remember who it was that had all the arcade cabinets in Japan years ago. Luke was his name I remember learning a lot about Japan thrift stores in his vids. Awesome your still gaming on RU-vid and keeping the love alive man.

Growing up in Europe Amiga was quite the thing here. After Videopac (Odyssey 2), ColecoVision and MSX we got an Amiga 500. I'll always have a sweet spot for that machine, it was só far ahead of any other consumer product when it was released (especially the Amiga 1000 which came out even earlier). I won't spend my money on this mini thing though.. I'd miss the sound of floppydrives, that's just so nostalgic to me. I now have an Amiga1200 with an accelerator card and a whopping 8MB of RAM bringing it to 10MB total I think. It runs WHDload, but I still prefer loading games from floppy😁

Recieved my A500 mini today .I'v never owned the original Amiga, however this is definitely my favorite mini out of all the mini consoles released so far👍👍

RetroGames has licensed the Commodore and Amiga BIOS ROMS (from Cloanto) and can legally sell these machines; however, they did NOT license the Commodore and Amiga name trademarks from the separate legal holder. That is why this system cannot use “Amiga” anywhere on the system or packaging, hence “A500” instead of Amiga 500. Also, RetroGames current two Commodore machines are called “The C64” instead of “Commodore 64” on the packaging and hardware outside of the operating system.

Awesome! I had the original, became the 1000 when the 500 came out. Was a regular classic desktop style, monitor fit on top. Learned to program with Amiga Basic before C64. I might look for this if it falls within my budget. I enjoy my C64 mini, very much.

I remember playing Switchblade 2 and Second Samurai on the Amiga.

That racing game around 12:00 was clearly the inspiration for the Velocity Park track in the Atari Jaguar game Club Drive. Atrocious game all around, but that one track stood out as actually being kind of fun.

Thanks for sharing. It's not really my cup of tea. Of new mini consoles I want to see, I would want a Sega Saturn Mini, N64, Dreamcast. I have the N64 and Dreamcast, but I would still buy it anyway just like I did with other consoles and play the games again. The saturn I never had, but only played at a friends house. I would like to get into that.

I’m a sucker for all mini consoles. But $140 for this seems a bit pricey.

I have UK thevic20. It came out just after the UK thec64 and 2 weeks before the US thec64.

Thanks for showing this. Loved my Amiga when I was young, so I love the idea of a flashback version. Unfortunately what I'm seeing is disappointing: only 25 games = lame. Why not the 1200 instead of the 500? Would have been much better. Lame. No keyboard at all would have been better than a fake one = very lame. All in all this is a missed opportunity. A pity.

After collage I landed a job as head archatech and I building stuff but the stuff I build kept falling over or braking so I started to be superstitious an ended up hiding dry aged beef products inside the walls of the buildings and since then no buildin I have builded has fallen

A Saturn Mini does sound a little interesting

Since the 1st computer I could truly call my own only " A Radio Stack tendy color IBM compatible" had only 10MB of hard disk and 5KB of ram. I was used the littens of those systems. But i will give this an pass since using retro pi on an PI 400 will let you play them as they where so post to be played since it has an working keyboard. I can't remember the name right now if you ever played an game where you type in something like "eat house" to move to next area you see why i think the PI 400 is an better eumetion box then the normal pis.

Why can't people understand... A MINI computer is a larger computer than and MICRO computer. So think washing machine size plus
