I am a digital designer using Captivate for a contract and the biggest issue for me is to have clean text (without silly variables) excellent intergration with SVGs (no flickering anymore) and good intergration with other Adobe software. If this is Cloud based, then there could have a problem with a lot of organisations that use sensitive material - ie. MoD etc. Adobe definitely still require a quick and easy Adobe RIse solution that is CLEAN and modern looking and responsive that just works out of tin. Rise just looks and feels superior in every way with the option to just add a few more complicated slides if required. Adobe have added this modern look and simplicity to other software such as XD, Indesign etc. Lets hope they have pinched some of there developers for this new release.
Thanks for your comment Paul, totally agree with everything you say. Not sure if Captivate will be cloud based because of the very reasons you state there and Captivate is a very resource hungry application, so not sure if it will make its way to the cloud just yet. We may some day see a "Captivate Lite" addressing the "RISE" functionality you mention here. having said that, the responsive functionality of the new Captivate looks promising based on the sneak peak we have seen thus far. We just have to wait and see, hopefully next couple of months, fingers crossed!
No compatibility issues to worry about at this stage. They have always been thorough in allowing older files to be opened in newer version but not vice-versa.
Thanks for doing this comparison with the current Adobe Captivate release. So is this new version going to be cloud based? Sort of got that impression. I signed up for the beta, hoping to see it before 2022.
Hi Milo, not sure about the cloud based . . looks alot like Adobe XD (which is computer based) will be interesting to see. sorry can't answer specifically, just don't know.
It would be great for editing images to pull up Adobe Photoshop if you have a license to it, and if it is vector based then Adobe Illustrator or Design. Are they doing anything with .svg based graphics? I always thought there was potential with that file format since you could program those images with the Processing language. So ActionScript is dead these days, I know they EOL Flash Builder 12/31/2019.
As we enter May 2022 it seems a shame that this release is still not available. I've used Adobe Captivate for many years and since it is a stand-alone subscription you would hope that they would have focused on supplying us with an update earlier? I too have concerns about many 2019 projects being opened in 'Project Charm'.
We concur with your concerns John, and we can only hope the wait will be worth it. We would like to think that Adobe will honor the ability of being able to open up earlier projects in the current versions of all software, including Captivate.
Sir, could you please share one complete e-course which is made by adobe captivate? just sample, and pls explain URL, uploading course, course percentage, analytics etc. process
