Wish I had mentioned that you can control left click on a belt to take items off it, and if you have an item in hand and use the same command it puts items on the belt instead, without having to open the belt tile
Thank you for producing this video, and all the others. I have depended on them to learn the game as I am unable to read most of the information displayed an-screen. Your videos have helped immensely in unserstanding a lot of the nuances of the game, and I hope you continue to produce these tips an tricks. I take inspiration from your builds, and devlop my own setts of blueprints, always trying to create compact and logical constructs. I look forward to new videos as the game is improved.
Did you notice that you can use Mining Machine TOGETHER with Advance Mining Machine?! Just make the conveyor belts go out of the Mining Machine to go into the Advance Mining Machine to have a big boost in mining ores
Now, in my eyes, the monitor has grown from an almost useless indicator of the number of objects passing along the track to a logistically important node of control at the level of the planet, the system, and more importantly, at the level between systems. Obviously, this is useful at any stage of the game. Thanks for the video!
Video suggestion: It would be awesome to see a cut of all the Dyson Spheres that you have built altogether. I mean in all savegames/playthroughs. Maybe also with some commentary on the stats and their usage as well as the system's function in which you have built them. In one of the many videos we get to see a few that have been built in one savegame but since there are at least 4 now already, the total number of spheres is surely fun and enjoyable to watch!
The Gray blinking state of the tracker just means it hasn't finished the first sampling cycle, also you could turn it around, it displays the cargo flow in numbers, currently you're facing the binary code of that number 😊
I've been working on the Impossible achievement of beating the game in under 10 hours. Have you thought about doing a guide on that achievement? Your Dyson Sphere content is always great. Thanks for the new video!
A person who had beat it once said its basically down to blueprint cheese. You use a single seed for consistency and take your time figuring out the most efficient manner possible to reach the end for this seed, using only the bare minimum to reach white science. Then you blueprint sections of your creations and start the game again on the same seed and abuse your prescient blueprints. Planning and building factories is the biggest time consumer so this is the best way to slash it from your time, especially since you need to customize it to be as fast and efficient as possible rather than standardized and tileable.
@@Xhaleon Thanks I think that has been the struggle to change my mindset when doing blueprints from I'll build this in a sustainable fashion to I'm going to build the minimum I need. I'm on my second run of trying. I got to the 7 hour mark and realized I wasn't going to make it. Currently i'm around the 6 hour mark with purple automated. My current game plan is to automate solar cells and get the sphere going and then get green going. I think most of my mines are tapped on the 1st two planets and we got them into Logistic centers.
I've never seen you use belt bending or sorter teleportation. They're very helpful techniques (popularized by Ludus) for doing things like having belts go straight vertically or having sorters insert to/from belts that aren't on the ground. It can save a lot of space to have all the input and output products of a smelter or assembler take only one row!
@@Nilaus I figured that was why. It'll be interesting to see what happens when 1.0 finally comes, if they're still around you can get some *very* compact builds.
I'm really hoping the eventually let you place what can be built of a blueprint.... Cause trying to fix all the stuff for a planet wide blueprint is super tedious.... And early game I don't have the soil pile to fix all the issues. Oh hey it does now! Yay!
They already do, he did explain and show how to do it, its also in red letters when you try to place a blueprint that has interference, just try to place it it will go red and hit ctrl+enter
Sorry I do not get how to find the blueprint you show as a last tips, can someone share the direct link? Do I need to be memember of the patron to get This?
I found my love back again for the game. However there are a few things I really do not like and wish that could be fixed. A) with the ILS. If I request 250 belts, I will get way more belt. Which is the amount of what a ship can take. Which can become over 3k. With belt this is fine, but with smelters it aint since they stack to 20. B) I hope we can set the content of the storage boxes to a certain item. So that we can say I want x belt, y engines and z ILS. And the rest is locked. So if it aint that, it won't accept this. This in combination the spinners would be amazing C) Spinners can unload everything in the storage boxes. You have the guess feature, but this only works with one item in the storage box.. Right now you have to set the item that is going to be flown over. But if I have 10 or more different things, it won't work. So a dump box is never working, since it will overflow and will become useless. D) Just make the cruisecontrol a feature. I love that mod. Really do E) Have a bit more logic into the game. I love Factorio because of this. Where I can say 'do x until box has y item'. Gives some control over where items should go. F) A few more :) However I really felt back in love with the game and last week I had delayed life a bit and played every day. Life continued without me present :) ahaha Z) Fade to black when you cruise into a sun or a black hole. I did it, curious dude. I was disappointed. The autosave is your friend, so not much will be lost. And it would be your own fault. But fade to black. I did get the achievement though, and I hope Stephen was proud :P In general some more control over things. For instance that we would be able to decide where an ILS will send its products to. Which planet. Right now when it is placed on supply, everyone can grab it. But I only want one planet to use that resource, not everyone. Just this one planet. More control would be so welcomed.
I use the blueprint travel map a lot. It's annoying you can't move in map mode... but you can hardly see anything in map mode. I use blueprint mode because I've colored all my locations anyhow so they show up better than map mode anyhow.
I was trying to follow along with the 8 squares in 3 squares in 8 square city block stuff but it turned into a mystifying haze fever dream. Maybe it was just me but that part of the video wasn't particularly clear.
There's a lot of QoL improvements that remind me of Factorio, but DSP have their own spin on it, and makes it unique in its own way. It's really cool, and it's good to have diversity in games as well IRL 💜💚
Yeesh, I thought I was doing kinda well with this game. But after I discovered your videos, I realized I'm really crap at it. All my stuff is so chaotic and messy, and I always have to change things because I'm always forgetting things or building them really poorly. 😨 I think I'm just going to uninstall the game before I waste too much of my time.
Nah man, everyone has their own playing style. His style is highly, highly organized and for me this just doesn't resonate as much. Just play however you want. You can't be "bad" at this game. It's all about having fun, and if you are having fun making a mess, than all the glory to you!
Awesome video! Also just a quick comment, feel free to ignore it: try to refrain from using the word “location” for a while 😅 i feel you’ve been using it as a placeholder for so many other words
