More themes would be nice , maybe the traditional e92 M3 style dial gauge with shift light option. Also configurable parameters to display a few ecu values such a boost would be great for the boosted guys.

@@ZeroTo60Tube I have to say that I have been on to support about a few issues with this cluster ,and are fantastic, got on messenger and solved all the issues immediately. I have no doubt that the firmware upgrades coming will be cool too. I have some installation book for this cluster that support sent me to access some other places to fix issues with cruise control and flat tyre monitor and other things and do not know if I can post it here for everyones use.?

I am so happy with this cluster. Every warning light and operation is available and also super responsive. A few little things ,but on a whole I am very happy and impressed.

Looks pretty promising, was an early adopter to the ID4Motion on my e82 135 and havnt had any complaints with it other than the locked softwear. Would be interesting to see if you coul boot Realdash onto these units, would love to have a few features from the canbus like IAT, boost levels, fuel pressure etc. Also satnav in the cluster like the audis

I paid for this so being honest the Tacho and speedo all respond as required and boot up time is practically instant. A few little error issues but easy fixed as support respond within hour. I am more than happy and had no issues at all.

Yeah Bro, I purchased this cluster and it is super responsive and all warnings appear fine, and everything you get on the original cluster is definitely all on the new cluster and more. A few little grammatical errors and niggly things ,but on a whole I am really impressed.

I’ve only ever thought of replacing my CCC with an Android/Apple CarPlay. Never my cluster bc I’m picky on input lag. 😂 Btw I ordered my aluminum water pump and thermostat from FCPEuro. Overnight shipped. Thanks for the recommendation from your older video. 😭

@@CarlifemallEmily Custom gauges would be my number 1. It would be great to intercept CAN signals and display them on screen. There is loads of them. Boost, afr, timing and what not. There is a lot of people that know which CAN signal exactly they want, so you could make option to select custom one and make it possible to name it. That way you won't have to sniff and identify different signals, but we will make it happen. Then it would be awesome if you allow community to create themes. This would make it so much more customisable. Another thing that I'm not sure if its possible is that a lot of us run android units in their cars. It would be awesome to have them communicate and display music titles or navigation, but that's something I'm personally not so fussed about. The first two would be my main and most important ones. I would love to see 6wb cluster theme as well. I think it would work a little better with e9x vehicles.

But pricing is great, I recently thought about buying the IDMotion version but the spec version I wanted came in at 1500$. It looks great and seems to be really responsive and well built but I love analog gauges for some reason lol. I drove rental Audi Q7 this summer and I kinda liked the digital cluster but at the same time I didn't. I don't know, I have mixed feelings about it. Makes E9x platform look much newer than it actually is though! CarPlay is a must I want to have for sure with my CCC unit, it's on the list!

Actually living in germany makes the use of such quite a struggle. Normally im sucker for the analogue clusters gives me the feeling of a connection between the car and the eyes and actually i enjoy it when im not constantly looking on screen but just what natural light transfers to the eye.....this solution could be interesting for retrofits like the 8hp etc...However what id love to see in the market is like a screen(super flat) that you can mount on the oem claster where the gauges are, like with a hole in the middle and that can be connected to an android headup unit...so like you have the old Odometer but you could feed/stream to it things like the map service (google maps, tomtom or what ever)...would be best of both worlds for me...but probably never coming. Im always really surprised on how much they need in space for cooling purposes. But interesting to see another solution on the market. Question id have is, does Cruisecontrol work with this? What does the cars kilometercounter store in hindsight of faults because of this ?

So the cruise works, display speed and active etc. It also supports active cruise control although i dont have it. As for fault storage not sure as yet.

Service menus are there. However not sure about oil level check. That being said if you are a N54. The manual dipsticks are coming and just better, better in every way for an older car.

I wanted one to display additional info. This happens to do voltage and coolant temp which are 2 things that have played up on this car so thats nice. However no boost as yet.... That being said i am enjoying driving with it a lot more than i thought i would. It feels so damn cool when you start the car and get the loading animation.

Hello and great video. I was wondering if this cluster is doing the same thing with removing a lot of information like , error codes being displayed, and or service intervals being displayed? There is a guy that specializes in bmw electronics, his latest video is about this issue, and he does a Frankenstein of a original cluster computer with a Chinese digital one so that it retains almost all functionality. DTC should still deactivate or activate regardless of the cluster. However could it be the cliuster is not seing the DTC signal on the canbus?

thank god an alternative to ID4. The way they price the "useless" themes is basically robbery for zero added functionality. $600 is right at the sweet spot ($500 is a better sounding number). If these can run well I'd buy one. Would be nice to integrate multimedia/carplay into the dash because I want maps in my dash board BADLY.

CarLife Mall have experimented with song titles which are broadcast over the canbus. However they have ran in to a few issues with the feature. They said it may be back. There wont be any maps coming to it, unfortunately

Cruise works fine in this, you get a little display showing the set speed. There is a setting if you have radar cruise

@@ZeroTo60Tube it doesn’t seem to support the regular cruise control (without the radar), i think your bmw is equipped with Adaptive Option for cruise control. My cruise control is a regular one (where it just put the speed to whatever MPH you reach and turns off when you brake)

It displays oil and coolant temp. However on this 320d it doesn’t have a oil temp sensor (well it shows faulty in ista). So both show the same temp.

I think I have another great question! If you install this and use it for a time and then reinstall the OEM cluster, will THAT be out of sync and throw up a tamper warning? Does it need to be updated in real time or will it sync itself once reinstalled? Last question I promise!

Nice review, looks good, saw few of them on aliexpress but unless it has a feature where i can have waze or music integrated not worth the 800/900€ (as far as i remember) for now . Probably isn't that difficult to put android auto or apple car play on theses so we don't have to upgrade the nav system + the cluster like audi does. I have a few questions : What about available languages ? Fronts were different on ones i saw one aliexpress, looking like resident evil's front. Are they changeable ?

Ive had this installed in my e60 m5 for about two months. It works well but is missing the transmission shift setting indicator and option for checking oil level. Also needs an option to adjust the rpm redline and my oil temp shows in Celsius when set to Fahrenheit. Fault codes are displayed at the bottom of the screen..

I think the id4motion locks the VIN to the cluster so it cannot be installed in another vehicle. I take it this one doesn’t have that feature?

That’s awesome! Love how it uses the whole screen area unlike the ID4 motion cluster. Do you think you would still be able to use the JB4 menu’s with the tacho since the screens swapped? Analog looking skins would be amazing, like the E9x M3 or M2 comp… Awesome work!!

JB4 should still work, no worries at all. However i havent tested it yet. Im hoping more skins and firmware will become available. Which is normally the case with this type of product.

I’m glad I’ve found your channel, I have a fully built n55 that is currently being reinstalled back into the my RHD e93 (Sydney based), a few months back I reached out to Adam from JMC tuning and he’s willing to help me out with a big single. I’ll have to reach out to him again… Only differences I believe is the water coolant feed to the block and manifold flange but all else should be sweet. Could you please check if the car is able to do its emission monitors testing? ID4Motion's cluster makes my car's sensors stuck on "not ready" and they suggested I remove the screen, go through all the process to pass inspection, then reinstall it...

@@ZeroTo60Tube with an obd reader and the torque app has a sensor readiness feature. You can also use a K+dcan cable and use a deep obd reader app to see error codes that are normally invisible to regular obd readers... The id4motion one throws an error with the Kombi module, for example.

No warnings at all. It seems to read the mileage from the cas and then display that.

@@40hzMusic It does not. Assumig you use the original dash cluster. The vin is what causes the tamper dot. The milage varience will learn up in the original cluster to match the cas.

How do these things handle error codes etc? Is this just a new device with the original software somehow worked into it? I am always wondering with these devices.

Bizarrely I haven’t seen many errors. Yet. However ignition on warning, displays different but the warning worked. So I think they have linked it to display like the oem. I’ll find out if I can trigger some more somehow

It should. The software was originally made for f series and then ported to e series.

Not at all. No cutting. Just put the screen in the dash first. Then clip the front piece to the screen and screw it in.

No unfortunately. To make them worth doing they needed to be $380 and it’s a lot of money. And even at $380 it didn’t really cover the time it took organise getting them made and then posting out. I did the first batch and left it at that as a failed exercise.

There is glare. The worst glare comes from the shift paddles in full light.

@@RomeoGoesRetro This does have some sort of anti glare on the screen already. Its not a perfect gloss. You get glare on the genuine G80 screen. Its no worse on this.

Not yet. And tbh i dont think there will be. The display fills the whole, so the screen shape doesnt really suit round dials. Much like the G series. Someone may make one in the fututre, but we will see.
