Start working out and running before you go.

I went through BMT March 17, 1998 at the old "House of Pain" 323rd TRS. TIs were TGSgt Wolski, SSgt Perez and SrA Lewis. The way you describe AFBMT now sounds like a bloody vacation. Patio Break in Week #2, details involving parades or even seeing another flight in blues was frowned upon by our TIs we weren't worthy to look at them. Outside of the phone call with the address for the family on the Saturday of Zero Week we didn't get to use the phone until the end of Week 3. I loved KP though cause we weren't under the gun and could actually eat desert and drink soda, but you're so right. I drank a glass of Coke a little too quick, I didn't puke but I had the nastiest most painful bloated stomach the rest of the day/night. When I went through we didn't have the gas chamber that's one difference you guys had that we didn't. As for initial PT test what the heck 6 sit ups, 4 push ups. Hahaha We had to hit the regular numbers of 30 or more pushups in 2 mins and a minimum of 45 sit ups in 2mins also we had men had to run 2 miles under 18 mins and females under 21-22 mins. They have really lightened up over the years which is kind of expected given the most sensitive/entitled/offended the newer generations have become. (I'm not saying everyone is like that, but a lot of these younger generations are). We had out dorm chief and first element leader recycled back to Zero Day during graduation week. Man idk if I want to write all this out, long story short they were both walking back from the Shopette and stopped to watch the couple permanent party females running around the track. Well, they thought it would be funny to say I smell (enter slang term for femsle reproductive organ) to a blonde haired middle aged female running the track in her civies thinking it was a TIs wife or even a civilian who worked on base who ran after work. Nope turns out it was a full bird 0-6 colonel who was at Lackland from Bolling AFB to see her niece graduate in just 72hrs. She marched these two idiots down to our squadron's CQ where the majority of the TIs were and said what happened. About an hour later as we are all packing some of our stuff up for tech school those two chuckleheads packed all their stuff up and reported to a zero day flight that was bused in later that night. Tbh, most dorm chiefs were power tripping loud mouthed idiots who are picked unpurpose by the TIs almost knowing they will screw up at some point or another. In closing, that night as we all laid in the dorm you lost count how many times one of us called out Dorm Chief, we have a question Dorm Chief. Karma is a beautiful thing. Lastly, we were never refered to as recruits, they called us Airman from Day #1, but usually our last name didn't follow Airman, it was usually filled with a derogatory term like hey Airman Idiot, or clueless etc. Sorry for the long msg/comment on here it's crazy that I had a walk down memory lane tonight after stumbling upon this video. The six years I signed up and spent in the Air Force were some of the best years of my life. I was 19-25 during my time in, never made the mistake of marrying another service member or even worse had a tech school romance that turned into marriage. But I had plenty of fun. I 💙 the Air Force and always will. Aim High!!!

Hey man could you go further into the interview portion? What exactly is it? Is this if you aren't selected for a job or go open aptitude? Do you get to pick a job at this time or do they just tell you what your job is?

2 questions, sorry it's old video now, but 1. How bad is watch in bmt? I'm entry level discharge navy only made it 6 weeks in RTC because I fractured my spine and our watch was terrible. 4 hours at attention staring at a door. How is it in bmt? Also how did you deal with the homesickness

If your week started on Wednesday when you first get to the base. During wot2 what time do you normally get patio breaks ? & if you get the chance to call family & friends what time / day do you get to call? & from what number ? Is it the personal cell or a random number ?

Couple questions its prolly changed so people who just went thru id appreciate it! 1. How is the urinalysis drug test set up? Are your MTIs yelling at you to hurry up or is it nurses. 2. What the min requirements to pass the PT test, I'd like to know so i can hit them PRs before i get to BMT. 3. Can you shoot a text to your family to let them know your there and all that I hate talking on the phone shipping out April 2, 2019 got the Tactical Aircraft Maintenance job so ill be at Sheppard AFB lol
