For 2021, Nike has brought out many a welcomed retro, releases that were previously near unattainable. Following the Air Tuned Max Celery as well as the Air Max 90 “Bacon,” the Swoosh is keeping up the momentum with the return of the Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” or, as some prefer, the “Toro Bravo.” Unlike the “Stealth” colorway revised this past weekend, the new version of the “Raging Bull” is far more faithful to the source material. Originally released in 2009, the scheme is adapted near true, with “University Red” coloring the premium suede upper. Metallic Silver tongues, then, accent adjacent, complementing the cages which provide their own neutral imprint. Black eye stays, midsoles, and insignia dress atop, icy blue soles hit the underside of the tooling, and the signature “23” stamps near the heel in homage to the silhouette’s “glory days on the court.”

Yo I’m a old ass head born in 1977. So I seen and got the ogs of all of these. This Toro is built aka the cut is original. Heads back then that were my age when they dropped in 2009 were bitching about the shape and how they looked like fakes of the og era. Shits hysterical. Now they’re back to traditional cut. But they used different “suede” and the younger heads are bitching about that. Life’s a big ass circle lol. But this is what makes it fun. When it comes to retros there is always a problem in different ppls eyes. I like the traditional cut cuz it gives me that feeling I use to get when putting on Jordan’s. That’s just me though. I like the new 11s and 1s because the cut is closer to OG shape. But that’s just the ramblings of a old man lol. I like em all. Just cuz something from my era is still legit. Like ur channel keep up the good work. Could careless about resell but understand it. I buy from resellers when I can’t get release. So I don’t hate resellers. It has to exist. Only hate em on the PS5 tip cuz I ain’t paying 750. Peace!

How do yall store your sneakers to last this long?? I just moved to the US and am interested in buying sneakers that were released a couple of years ago(2-4 yrs). But im hesitant coz it might fall apart. I was from the philippines, 2-3 yrs there and sneakers would crumble, sole sep, etc.

On the new ones the actual color is different, it was a deeper, darker red on the OGs and as he stated the materials used was REAL thick suede that would have an added texture to the touch. The '23" on the OG is smaller and brighter on the shoe and the new one is bigger and darker which indicates to me they used a more premium threading on the OGs, The OGs had more of a clear blue ice bottom bottom and the new ones seem to have placed more emphasis on the blue in the icy bottom (if that makes sense). Almost like the OG's effect of being made clear was an ice blue color in opposed to making an icy bottom blue appear clear. It's 10 years of oxidation that has occurred on the OG's and you can still see through it more than the new ones, because of the blue coloring they added.

At first glance I can tell you the red suede on the new raging bulls looks cheaper. I had two packs back in the day and I remember the suede smelling so damn strong. Even closed in the dual box, you could smell that suede in an adjacent room. Idk if this current pair had the same unique smell being that I took an “L” on these 😔

I’ll stick to my 2009 pair. I’m currently having my homie restore them. He iced the bottoms already and scrubbed all the stains off. Just need a re dye on the suede and I’ll be good 🔥🔥 People over charging for these also 🤦🏻‍♂️

I just got these in today and I had a feeling they looked a lil bigger than my other pair of 5s. That’s when I noticed they did the same they did the the fire red 5s making the shape more og. My alternate grape 5s aren’t like that and they look smaller on feet than my fire reds and these.

I have both pairs 2021 and 2009 in mint condition with the 3m dmp raging bull also in mint condition and man let me tell u , the 09 model looks waaay better, the overall red suede is superior to the 2021 version

The toe box on the raging bull the stealths & the fire reds are different than all the 5's & it makes it look like a knock off. The toe cap is why i didn't buy the stealths & the fire reds. That original toe cap is the 5. That changes the whole sneaker. If you were doing a original against a fake it's the first thing everyone would mention. The 5 is my all time favorite. I walked into highschool with the metallic 5's on almost 31 yrs ago! I really hope jordan brand & nike go back to the original toe box....👍🏻

I just got the new ones they are great only why couldn't Nike have made the shoe a better quality and the color the laces are? That red would of been cool. The Stealth had no issues with loose netting etc. The shoe my right one has a little extra from Nike. 😅😂

I personally like the older pairs red color better but once a shoe starts yellowing real badly and the bubble fogs up I sell it anyway cuz I hate that so id have to choose the new.

there are ways to reduce the oxidation in the outsole and completely remove the fogging in the air bubble
