My dad (who’s normally really savvy) got scammed by someone selling plane tickets and only found out when he was at the airport. He was meant to go to a conference he was helping organise and it was a stressful time. What scares me is that my mom would fall for one of these scams. She’s older, her English isn’t that great, and she honestly has no idea how things work. She still thinks the entire Internet is inside the device and once asked me to get her a laptop so she could have more internet (versus her phone). 🙄 She’s got a trusting nature and a kind heart, which makes her a prime target for these scams. I already had to detangle her from a car warranty draft she had no idea she even agreed to. Very glad you are out there helping to put even a tiny dent in these scumbag operations.
My mother would have been saved only because she would have called me, but she would have been terrified if they said they were from the IRS. I love Kitboga too.

@@suzycreamcheesez4371 Yeah because we all know the #1 thing he's afraid of during these anti-scam calls is for them to hang up. That's merely the finish line. That's the way they all end. The only difference is in how long it takes to get there. I do think that it would make that go longer, but his entire goal in ALL of these is to do nothing more than waste their time. But they all end 100% with the scammer hanging up realizing they're not getting any $$ from him. Just saying.
I accidentally did that with my Dark Soul 3 code... :x But not everything was gone. So I was trying possible numbers as far as I could still recognize them for like an hour till it was the right code finally. xD
@@jayleal2733 same man. I have a similar experience where my steam account was stolen, but we were able to retrieve it and get the scammer banned from steam. It's nice. I told my entire friends list of steam to report him, and his account was taken down. I got my account back, and all my items were still there. Scary but a nice experience. He tried to retrieve 50 dollars from my account.
I think Chinese scams are becoming common right now too, I keep getting random calls from NY (I’m in MA) that are in Chinese. I’m not sure what they’re saying because I don’t speak Chinese but when I look up the numbers, they are flagged for being scam centers
I often get Chinese scam calls. My coworker's semi-fluent, and says that its basically saying they're from the Embassy or something, and that they'll be deported back to China if they don't pay a fine (in gift cards, of course)

I've been addicted to these scam bait videos lately, thanks to Jim Browning. Now whenever I answer a call from an unknown answer, I answer with, "Thank you for calling Microsoft tech support, how may I help you?"
That scammer has no soul. He thought he was on to a $1600.00 payday with an elderly lady and then the cashier. Great work KitBoga wasting his time. They have no qualms messing with the vulnerable and the innocent.
Actually, that would have been a hilarious epilogue to the main scambait session… the store clerk calling a few hours later to get her “discount”. I wonder if the scammer would put together that she was just another voice used in the failed scam. Even if the scammer rage-quit almost immediately, imagining him reliving being pwned by the old lady as he “hangs up the call” would have been fun.

I work in a space where we need to be hyper-vigilant of scams. I deal with cases daily. Scammers play on the emotions of their victims, and typically target people who are well-meaning and naive. If you put up immediate resistance, they drop you for someone who seems to give in to their tactics. By the time they are going to retrieve payment - even if they think it might be a scam - their pride generally gets in the way and they won't admit that it might be a scam.
The voice changer is really convincing, apparently. Lots of characters and nonsense talk rolling alongggggg with the scammers trying to target seniors.
I am 65 and I know much younger people that have been scammed. Age affects everyone differently. I hate seeing the old taken advantage of. When anyone says free or an unbelievably discounted price, I tell them I am not interested because nothing is free. Businesses are not out there to lose money. I consider everyone to be scammers unless I know differently.
No, it's 'CATCH'. People just mis-heard and ran with it. The phrase itself is nothing new, people have said it and still say it all the time where I'm from.

It's not desperation. There are just people that are this gullible. The vast majority of people that would stay on the phone for more than 5 seconds are likely to send you a lot of money.
@@swapnil4555 Yes I agree. It doesn't matter if the younger generation knows how to operate technology or not. They might have no idea, but with so much internet exposure and awareness to all kinds of scams there is is absolutely no reason why the younger generations won't be aware of this. While there will always be gullible people in every generation the fact is that significantly more people are aware of the scams in 2018 and will be better prepared to handle them as opposed to my mother's generation for example.

On Indias version of Craiglist, there's a new breed of scammers. They say they are in the Indian army and even send fake ids. They sell iPhones for cheap but the product is never delivered. Real sad. They ask for 50% advance.
They also sell RTV etc and use an email address for communication, say they are in the army and they need to sell, because they are being deployed, which is why the vehicle is so cheap. Send 50% the rest on delivery blah blah blah.
So it's almost like if you work at Walgreens and some elderly person comes in confused asking to buy a card you know for a fact they wouldn't have any interest in getting it normally, PLEASE tell them it's not too late and they're probably being scammed. It's heartbreaking this goes on every single day.

It takes a lot out of you being angry all the time. I used to be an angry person and I had so many headaches, back and stomach aches, it's just not worth it to be so angry. Serves these guys right though, hope they die of heart attacks.

Hey Kitboga! I just started watching recently and have learned so much from your videos. I have always wanted to waste scammers' times too, and have recently started to do so whenever I get a call (I'm being safe though, I never let them on my PC.) I just wanted to say thank you for all you do. My dad almost fell for a scam recently and the awareness your videos brought helped us recognize it as a scam

Love the pop culture reference "Cash me ousside..howbout dat?" They always take it so seriously because they don't watch Dr.Phil. Goes right by. "Dixie's" Kentucky accent rocks. The funny thing is, the old lady character sounds exactly like my personal favorite 82 old lady.
I grew up in a very big family. My parents really really wanted to give us all a vacation but with such a big family it was so difficult to afford, even when we saved every year. Something always came up. I remember, after saving for a few years my parents came across an offer like this, and thought we could finally afford to take everyone somewhere nice for a vacation. I was so excited to ride in a plane for the first time ever! But I mean...needless to say it was a scam like this one. Thank you for producing this content. It makes me hopeful that more people will become more educated on scams and not have the same thing happen to them.

I used to work at a major airline call center and had to break so many people's hearts that believed they had a legitimate ticket with our company. Most times the scammers had made a shell reservation that expires or they had paid sometimes 500% more than it would've cost if they just booked directly. Kitboga, if you ever call another one of these places, I suggest booking an unaccompanied minor ticket or adding an infant ticket and see what happens.
Kitboga, I worked for American Airlines in the domestic and international reservations departments 19 years ago. Yeah, we DID NOT connect to anyone’s computer 👩🏽💻 back then. However, people were still using paper tickets 🎫 back then. So this is pretty funny 😆 to me!! Keep up the good work🙋🏽♀️💕
I have watched many of these videos, it’s so hard to understand how they get people to just jump into there car ASAP and go buy a gift card and then use it as a form of payment. I know they are very successful I just can’t understand how people fall for this.

I really had to laugh when he said "don't scratch it hard, else it will be erased". Literally 0.3 seconds later loud scratching noises and a grandma scrubbing the card blank. This is Spongebob/Simpsons sort of shit right here!
