So you mentioned Echo 4th Gen, maybe a typo, but I just want to clarify. The echo 4th gen is a $100 smart speaker, not to be confused by the echo DOT 4th gen which is a $50 smart speaker (check out my other video so you can see the size and sound differences: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2PVjNiNpNrs.html). The echo 4th Gen ($100 Amazon Smart Speaker) is designed to compete against the Nest Audio ($100 Google Smart Speaker), another video I did: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9bCBddScuYM.html. This current video is comparing the Echo DOT 4th Gen vs the Echo DOT 3rd Gen. Unfortunately the Echo 4th Gen and the Echo DOT 4th Gen can easily be confused as they look similar expect the Echo 4th Gen is twice the size and twice the price of the Echo Dot 4th Gen. As far as sound, the Echo Dot 4th Gen and the Nest Mini sound normal, nothing amazing. The Echo 4th Gen however sounds amazing, just wanted to clarify that. Alexa and Google Assistant are compatible with many smart home appliances but I believe Alexa has more compatibility with smart home devices compared to the Nest Mini. If you actually get the Echo 4th Gen (not echo DOT 4th Gen), it also has zigbee built-in hub which some smart home devices require. You can only cast RU-vid Music to Google Speakers however you can configure an Echo speaker as a bluetooth speaker and listen to it on bluetooth but I don't really see that as a convenient option. They both have pros and cons, it really depends what you're looking for.

I'd go with the Nest Mini in that case. Amazon I believe is a tad quicker to respond but I like Google's Assistant more than Alexa even though they are both pretty good. Sound quality is about the same, after some tweaking maybe the echo dot is a little better but honestly they are both bad for audio quality. If you're looking for audio quality, get the Echo 4th Gen (way better than both of these) or if you want even better audio quality, get the Google Home Max.

In my opinion, google assistant (nest mini) gives better answers when you ask questions. While they are both compatible with a lot of smart home devices, I believe Alexa is compatible with more smart home devices. The problem is there’s no one clear winner, it really comes down to what’s the most important for you.

The first one is the google home mini, then came the nest mini. This is the nest mini (the current one that Google sells), yes basically the 2nd gen of the speaker.

If the music is playing loud, sometimes the microphone won’t pick up your voice

Alexa and Google Assistant are both good, I tend to prefer Google Assistant a little more but Amazon echo speakers have their own benefits like they offer Alexa Guard for free. Not sure if that matters to you or not. Between the two, I prefer the Nest Mini only because I prefer Google Assistant more than Alexa but keep in mind I also have a subscription to RU-vid Music as well so it's easier for me to be in the Google ecosystem. If you're looking for something with great sound quality, I would skip both of these and go with the Echo 4th Generation (not Echo Dot 4th Generation). If you're looking for amazing sound quality, I would go with the Google Home Max. The Home Max is the smart speaker I use the most, followed by the Echo 4th Generation. I also like the Echo Dot 4th Generation with clock just cause I like having a visible clock that's easy to reference. Anything specific you want to know? I have both too and Nest Mini 2 is much better in every single way than Echo Dot 4... I don't get how so many reviews tells that Echo Dot 4 sounds better than Nest mini 2... Nest have better dynamics, stronger bass, more clear higs, overall more clear sound... Echo Dot 4 sounds like from some 'tube'... I hear even sense of 'echo' but in that way that it's like it have some very thin shell or something liek taht... It just sounds overall thin... no dynamics to music but even detail is not really good... I would say maybe failty unit but I'm not first person who comlains about it...

So update.. I did some restarts and it started to have way better sound in all aspects... So for everyone who would stuggle with sound I reccomend to restart even more times!

Huh interesting. The nest mini should not sound better lol but they do sound amazing. I have 2 myself for stereo music in a small apartment and it fills the entire room with very clear and surprisingly bassy music

@@albinabraham3168 Yes its a good Speaker indeed , you can set reminder , family bell system which notes you of specific task at a certain set time , I supports music , video's and podcasts too . You can search for things through google , set music alarm and normal alarms too . It has a good speaker and you can hang it on the wall also as it has a slot for hanging behind it . It has untrasonic sensor in it which lights up led. near the touch panel where the audio touch is situated so as to guide you !! Over all its a nice speaker and if you have a couple of them you can even create a stereo group with them !! you can also make a call throught it !!

Thanks for chiming in kartik. They're both good but I feel like Google Assistant is a little better. Google Assistant typically does a better job of understanding human language meaning you don't have to ask questions like a robot, you can ask it question like you would ask a human and it figures it out most of the time.

@@landpet Just reduce the treble by 1 or 2 points on the Alexa app & it will eliminate the hissing noise at high volume. Sounds much cleaner & fuller.

@@anishelnino Yeah, you need to play with the equalizer to get it to sound better. Reducing the mid and the bass by 3 or 4 points sounds normal for most songs. I much prefer the Echo 4th Gen, Nest Audio and Home Max for music. I like these smaller echo dots and google nests for the Alexa and Google Assistant.

Actually this is a fair comparison these are both companies latest budget smart speaker. The nest audio is in competition with the regular echo (4th gen).
