Hello, thanks for the video. I had a problem with using the new amazon remote to control my volume on my TV because it didn't do it right out the box. But I found out that I had to go under Equipment Control, Manage Equipment, Advanced Setting, Volume & Power Buttons and change from Fire TV Remote to Fire TV Cube. Hope this helps someone. Maybe you can make a video about this.. thanks.

Thank you for sharing this tutorial bro. Excellent presentation. I have tei Amazon Fire TV HD Sticks at home: one for the Samsung HD TV and one for the Vizzion Smart TV. The Fire Stick TV remote works well in the Samsung TV. We can turn the TV on and off and control the volume buttons, but on the Vizzion Smart TV, I am unable to turn it on and off and control the volume buttons, the other features are functional. I went to Settings, then Equipment Control, then Manage Equipment, then TV, then Change TV, then Change TV again. I scrolled down to search for the brand name Vizzion but it is not there, so I selected Vizio, which was the closet description. I pressed the power button on the Fire TV remote to turn off my TV, but it didn't turn off. Please provide me with assistance for programming my Fire TV Stick remote to enable the power button and the volume button. Thank you.

Are these instructions & the remote for the Firestick 4K ? I have the Firestick model that Amazon put on sale right before they released the 4K version. Our Firestick remote control does not have as many buttons as yours does. I was able to get RU-vid working on the RCA by activating the code that I took from the TV screen and put into the RU-vid activate screen on my Laptop. I can't get any apps working correctly on the Vizio. I bought 4 firesticks so I have a different one installed on each TV. My main problem is that the screen is not sized correctly so when I have to type in a password, half the characters are below the screen, and I can't see what letter I am clicking on. Very frustrating and changing the picture mode via the Vizio remote control, doesn't help at all. It looks like the Firestick 4K was released a few weeks before you made this video. Only vid I've watched that tells you to go into the equipment control and change TV, this sorted my sync issue. My remote was synced to a TV in my bedroom that was a different manufacturer from the one in my living room. Just wonder if it will still work on my TV in my bedroom when I take my stick upstairs tonight?.... To be continued!

Hi, My TV brand is Electra and which is not listed in the list. I have opted "My brand is not listed" and I have tried to turn off the TV , but its not turned off. I have tried upto maximum extent 11 times. In this can you please help me sort out the issue?

Here's a downside to the video. The fire sticks offer that setting. The fire addition TVs do not offer a equipment control setting. So unfortunately if you have equipment like a sound bar or something you would have to find other means of hooking it up which is annoyancesbecause why wouldn't Amazon have the equipment control setting in a fire television.

I followed the steps but the TV never turned off. Idk what I'm doing wrong.

For me once I select the TV as Sony it just displays msg your remote has been updated, but still the power button will not work...any suggestions???

Works with ANY TV that is on that list. The ONN. TV that Walmart is selling this Black Friday is not on that list so it will not work. The volume control and power on and off will not work on the Firestick remote for the ONN Tv.

Tried doing this, but mine just goes straight to press power button without asking for the brand of TV. I get to the end and none of the profiles work (Panasonic TV)
