There on sale for 34 bucks right now that's actually a pretty great price I ordered one for me and my dad wonder if the remote can be used on the fire TV that would be cool
The Amazon 4K Fire stick now has the Alexa voice control button on the remote itself along with the volume buttons which makes accessing it so much easier. Fire TV Stick 4k supports 4K Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and all for just extra 10$. This is a sweet deal. MediaTek SoC at its core is another reliable feature of the Fire Stick. With the integration of the MediaTek chipset, the doubts over the performance of the Fire Stick is completely put to bed. There is nothing to complain about it. Thoroughly impressed!
i have them both and am comparing..the roku does NOT do dolbly digital on amazon prime or on netflix, and im shocked..it wont transcode DD Plus to DD either..it just outputs stereo.. the roku remote feels much nicer and more quality..it selection is vast, but again only stereo..thats all i need to hear to send it back to the store.. dealbreaker!..the firestick Does do dolbydigital on prime and netflix, but the sound on my older pioneer elite doesnt support DD plus only DD ort multichannel pcm..the firestick transcodes the DD plus down to DD and the quality of sound is ruined.. pity...it wont out pcm other than stereo,no way to do pcm 5.1.. its interface is good but rokus is better..sometimes the firestick got buggy and froze up .lagged or just wouldnt respond..there is very little space on that stick so if u like adding lots of apps,u are gonna run out of room fast
Bro been waiting on this review for a while, I thought u were gonna be the first one to bring it out for some reason but better late than never I guess lol.
Got mine for 35 quid absolutely banging for that price... first product I have ever had before your in boxing come out 😂😂 good video mate, half a mill subs soon surely?
No one reviewed about hdr quality and 7.1 sounds. 1.How to set up 7.1 or 5. 1 from fire tv stick 4k? 2.Kodi and plex supports atleast 5.1 surrounding sounds(blueray content) from windows smb server set up to kodi? Can anybody help on this questions please.
I'm sending mine back. It has an Audio Issue, where every 10 mins or so, the audio cuts our for a 2 seconds. It can get pretty annoying. Google it, others are having that issue. To be fare, it does rub better then the old cube and can do as much as the cube. Dobly Atmos and Dolby Vision works sweet. To bad it came with issues out of the box :o/
That box is huge... Here in the US it's the same size box as the regular fire stick.. I wonder if Amazon is going to phase out the regular firestick line they phase out the fire tv
So, im thinking of upgrading my current fire tv stick and did think of getting this. But after your video, im not sure. What are the other options available at the same price that either meet or beat the firestick?
I had 2 of the previous version of Fire TV Stick. I got the 4K Fire TV Stick when it was on sale for $34.99 for CyberMonday sale a couple of weeks ago. Been using about a week and a half. I'm so happy I got. It's definitely faster. However, my main reason for getting it was for the updated remote that powers TV's off & on along with the volume & mute buttons. So much better! I don't have a 4K TV yet but it works great on my TV (I have a 720p SmartTV).
hey @ASBYT i went on amazon one day on my fire tv stick and i searched youtube app and it now has an app were you dont have to go into silk browser ..... they just sent out the app for the fire tv so no more browser.... idk if you will read this comment but here you go....
The built it antenna has always sucked, I was loading them for people, they were all bad and they should have an external antenna and I had them touching my Wi-Fi, but my first job is electronics, I have a fix a ton of these antennas, for this if you have basic soldering skills. Unplug the power and the HDMI. I'm not responsible for anything here. You can easily split this open with a razor, fine guitar pick or a thin metal spudger, once it's split in half you need to find the built in antenna. There's one for Wi-Fi and one for Bluetooth. what you do is you use a tooth pick and put a dab of flux on it and touch it to the very end of the antenna so you can see and the same to the new wire so you can see it, cut a piece of wire just over 1 and 1/2 inch long cat 6 wire from a ethernet cable, bare the end and bend the very end over and solder it in place then run the new antenna along the side and hopefully it will snap together and you didn't destroy it, but you should test it before yo put it back together. For the people that understand, The formula for a halfwave antenna is 468 divided by the frequency, that would give you your maximum feet and you divide that number by 12 it works out 2.45 ghz which works out just over 1 and a half inches of cat 6 wire soldered to the end of the existing antenna and you wont believe the difference. Try this on your old Firestick first for the experience. Enjoy.
You have a point I am the same! I still can't believe those bench marks. I bought a Nvidia Shield this year and haven't looked back but I had a Minix Neo U1 which cost me just over a £100 before that and the bench marks considering the price not great. Don't get me wrong solid box compared to some cheaper ones I have had in the past. Correct me if I am wrong but are the Firesticks benchmarks better than my Neo which you can pick up for around £35? I remember you did a comparison list a while back.
Hi ,ASBYT Please could you help. I have just bought the M8S pro L could you please recommend a 4gb micro chip card so I can save all my apps from my old box which is BB2PRO. Kind regards Albert. Watched your video on how to do back up.
someone told me on another video that, even though I have a 4K tv, and a fire stick 4k, the image quality wont improve, unless I pay for UHD netflix service, that I will only see the difference by being faster and less buffering. Is this true?
Love the power in the new 4k Stick, preordered it. One thing that I noticed, the Wi-Fi in the pendant was better. Not getting the a consistently solid 5GHz connection on the 4k stick. Sent it back to Amazon hoping that it was a fluke, but NOT. That's my only gripe about it, other that SOLID!
I have purchased it in Bangladesh. But I am unable to use it. I have prime video member that works fine with my Android device but it does not work in fire tv stick. Can u tell me what's the problem and how I can solve it? Do I require a prime membership for playing prime videos in fire TV stick?
Great video. I have the Roku 4K Ultra, the Nvidia Shield and I just purchased the Firestick 4k two weeks ago. I'm going to throw my two cents in here: -Like you said, the UI is fluent and smooth and the device feels solid. The remote might feel cheap but it has a better feel to it than the Nvidia Shield. The wifi connection is pretty good as well. I was very impressed with that. -Besides that, it just comes down to the needs/wants of each individual. Personally, I was disappointed but that just pertains to my want list. The OS might be a flavor of Android but it is too stringent and limited as far as third-party apps and what can be loaded on there like a Roku. The biggest pain is this beef between Google and Amazon. The RU-vid app (which is a wrapper) looks pretty much identical to the one on Android TV but like you said, it isn't. I have had RU-vid Premium for a few years and I still get ads (even though I am signed in) on the firestick. Also, if you have movies with Google Play, you will get an error saying that the format is not supported going through one of the browsers. -The UI is too busy. It's just too much Amazon and its products being pushed to the point of annoyance. I tried to put the leanback launcher on there and it just didn't take it. -At the time I got this, ES File Explorer is not available through their own app store anymore for the 4k version. I had to go to Aptoide TV to get the app. I was another person on Reddit saying he/she had the same issue but it seems that it is back if you were able to get it. -I got a LG 4K tv back in May and I plugged this into the CEC HDMI port in order for it to turn on and off the tv and it didn't work. However, on my Samsung, it did so that was weird. I would say that if you want everything that you can get your hands on, either go with the Nvidia Shield (if you are willing to pay) or possibly get the mi box and sideload Amazon Videos. I didn't mentioned the Roku box that much but if you aren't trying to sideload apps and don't want a pushy UI, I would go with that.
ASBYT, I am trying to make my Zidoo H6 Pro Android TV box (Android 7.0) receive screen mirroring/casting from my Android phone but cannot find a solution either in the settings or an APK. Any suggestions? Thanks
Disagree with the remote quality comment. I thought the buttons were much more satisfying and clicky than the gen 3 dongle version. Only issue was the back was rock hard to get off.
They also run on different operating systems, which is obvious if you're someone who uses them a lot. It runs on an OS similar to the dongle, so it runs certain apps better. In other words, 4k, faster, and more compatible.
I have got this product yesterday and yet to work out how to jailbreak it or get software/and channel into it. I have followed the instruction on last video of last year but things have changed..terrarium is no longer available so i cant go further. Anyone knows how to get most it , please help me.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: THE 4K FIRE STICK IS CURRENTLY ON FOR £34.99 ON AMAZON BLACK FRIDAY WEEK DEAL. WAS ORIGINALLY ON FOR £49.99... YOU'RE WELCOME! EDIT: ASBYT HAS LINK IN HIS DESCRIPTION STRAIGHT TO THE DEAL... TECH BARGAIN OF THE YEAR!
yes i had to download via a seperate link use 'downloader' troypoint.com/es-file-explorer/ - The 2nd method will be for those who have the Firestick 4K which does not offer ES File Explorer within the App Store. However, we can still install via the Downloader Application which is used for installing numerous 3rd party apps.
