With all these systems and electronics, the car won't last much over ten years before needed to be scrapped. Mercedes isn't building products to last. I guess their target market can get a new every few years, so who cares.
@@corbinsmith50 This time is over since Mercedes started following the US Leasing Market back in the days. Before cars were build to last, after the switch they turned to build a new Model each 3 years to fit the market. That is were the philosophy changed. Trucks, Commercial Vehiclees and so on are still build with the old mindset, but the cars suffered heavily from that change.
Raz has to suck up for mercedes or else he won't get invited to launch events 😂 Matts following is 10x so they dont have to play by the same rules lmao

I love how regardless of the Engineer Matt is teamed up with for these videos, they have a blast...guys start out nervous but he just makes them so comfortable they come out of their shell and really bring the interview alive.
This is great - If Mat just praises everything, they learn nothing. You actually get to be the voice of the common driver. You've driven more cars than most of us so you have a better understanding of what's good and what's possible.
The German was actually rather complimentary, he said he was happy to be driving with Mat as he's a pleasant conversation partner, but thinks he should be careful how he answers Mat's questions.

its just that this c63 is so crap that they can't give it to reviewers to test it and have their own opinions on it, they have to send an engineer or PR guy to drive it for u while u just sit, react and ask some questions, which effectively means they r dictating to u what to say abt the car cuz u just can't be as open with a representative around as u would be alone
I love how nervous Rene (the engineer) was with Matt 🤣🤣. He knew that Matt was gonna throw everything plus the kitchen table on him....Rene just taking it, and trying to be proper.....👍👍

He tried so hard to stay professional but deep down this must have been the most fun he had that day (after the part where Mat pushed him out of his comfort zone), especially the drifting part.
I appreciate that Matt had to keep saying that AMGs are V8 monsters. By telling them what we want, he did all of us AMG fans a favour. Hopefully, they will still take our wishes into consideration.
@@Wet_woofer in an earlier video of his, he got one of the engineers to reveal that they could have used the V8 for this generation. This was a choice for them.

Lmfao I love how real Mat was at 03:15 , people in AMGs shouldn't care about silent interior sound, otherwise they should get a regular Mercedes, we want to hear a growling noise.
as a amg customer i felt completely bullshitted when he said that. Also Recupartive Braking. Last shit i want to see in a Sportscar... Wheres the Sporty interior btw? Looks like a standard C-Class, especially the seats are a joke.
@@DarkSession6208 recuperative braking is super important to recharge the battery so that it always has power. It‘s amazing and as a driver you don‘t notice it. You just push the brake pedal as in every car. The seats here are the comfort seats. There are also performance seats available - just like with the last c63
Without a doubt an engineering feat. That being said 95% of buyer won't ever take these to the track to use its fully potential and without the exhaust note on the street all this is is a c class with a body kit.
The thing is I do like cars but I'm not that crazy about them but the way that Mat does these video`s + the epic editing makes me watch these video`s every single day! Really fun to watch! Thank you Carwow crew!
Thank you Matt, you said everything I wanted to say to Mercedes about losing the V8 and your honesty about plug in hybrids made it all more refreshing.
I have no doubt this will be a mind shattering drive, but really, there is something very scary about a C class, compact sedan breaking not just 2 tons, but 2.1 tons...
@@Robb1n11 they shouldnt though, subjectively, its sad to see the V8 gone but factually, itll be the best driving C63 ever made. All the stats back it up, especially compaired to its rivals. The video shows the weight isnt actually much of an issue because of how well engineered the chassis is.
@@samirav1137 not sure about that... Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Maserati are launching a lot of new great models, but here there are only reviews about German cars
I can't be the only person who had the broadest smile on my face throughout the circuit portion of the video... Also, I think Matt made a new friend! 😂
super nice to see and get close to the designers and engineers working behind the car, also in a casual way and not so "professional", the guy on the video is super nice.
@@purwantiallan5089 It's the generation that was for sale 2014 to 2021. And I think it looked a lot better, more style, elegant proportions, it just made more sense. And you could get it with the amazing 4.0L M177 V8 in the C63 AMG, as well as the 3.0L iteration of the M276 V6 in the C400 / C450 / C43 AMG models. I argue it's the same with the S-Class. The W222 (2013-2020 S-Class) is one of the best looking cars in the last 30 years, at least in my opinion. It's just pure elegance and understated luxury. The new W223 is just less refined and looks way worse in my opinion. Maybe not ad bad as the W206 C-Class, but still a big step backwards. And they got rid of the S65 AMG with the spectacular M279 V12, which you can only get in the Maybach S680 now. And they of course ruined the interior of both C-Class and S-Class with huge screens and saving money on the quality of the materials.
I love the way Renee is so relaxed tearing up the asphalt and Mat is holding on and animated about the turns. I’m glad Renee opened up and took off his engineering shoes and put on his normal people ones. Fantastic.
Nice job pushing him mat. You could differnatly see he had fun, even tho he was sitting there thinking. "oh shit my boss is gonna be mad about this!" 😂
I love the fact that it CAN be quiet when you want it to be. The only reason I went for a C43 instead of a C63 in the previous generation was that the C63 just would not shut up when cruising and driving slowly. Surely the driver must have the option to choose how he wants the car to behave. Well done AMG!
The subtle shots make this very comical, but it also makes this an entertaining video. The AMG employee is great for this type of PR. I love his Personality and ability to remain cool and laugh at the jokes 👍 I won’t be turning in my hellcat for a hybrid anytime soon, but it is Very Impressive none the less. I can certainly respect what they have done with this 4cyl 👏
What amazes me more is the way that, while Mat is holding for his life, the german driver is just simply calm without moving any more muscle than the needed to steer.
Always instant hilarity when the outspoken quick-witted Mat meets a linear thinking German engineer. Both have their weaknesses and strenghts and this clash is clearly happening at around 19:30. Great video!
You just know there’s a whole process for car companies to find the right driver for Matt😂 got to be able to take some shit and not say the wrong thing with Matt😂 I love it
If I read the comments and didn't watch the video I would have literally no idea who is nervous and who is relaxed because there's about 300 comments all saying different things
They could've used the new straight 6 engine that they have in the e53 and then put the hybrid twist. That way it would have a better sound and match the emission norms.
Would all of that have fit into the enginebay. And this engine was already developed so it has to be used to justify the development outlay and make profit.
The only reason I mentioned the straight 6 was because of the sound. Since the v8 is gone, the next best sounding engine is the straight six in their line up. AMG could use that block and easily build their own engine out of it. It is already in their lineup. The 2 litre is good but the sound is something to be desired. Not questioning the profitability and the Performance.
@@petkokrushev3840 BMW have done their engine perfectly now, and with all wheel drive and the way it handles, along with lower weight/exhaust sound is a no brainer. The V8 AMG engine shouldn't have been faded out without perfecting it, which the w205 as fun as it was didn't do exactly. Adding a electric turbo to that V8 twin turbo should have been the aim rather then switching to 4 cylinder. Shameful to not see AMG put the perfect V8 into the C63, which the C63 is most renowned for.
