@bingusmcscringus2012
@bingusmcscringus2012 8 лет назад
That is true, but it is mainly because of better nutrition allowing us to grow taller nowadays.
@MikhaelAhava
@MikhaelAhava 8 лет назад
So evolution is already taking place? I mean like in the next thousands of years, tens if thousands perhaps or even hundreds, we'll have a new species and that cause it takes absolute ages for organisms to evolve, it is slowly happening now?
@BullStengthTheories
@BullStengthTheories 8 лет назад
it's always happening, no matter what. To every species on earth, it's just too slow to witness in a human life space, (other than the evolution of the very small like bacterium and viruses, which we can witness the evolution of in very short amounts of time).
@221b-l3t
@221b-l3t 8 лет назад
Actually evolution has been observed within about 3 decades in the famous galapagos finches, that darwin originally wrote about. There where droughts, the usual diet became rare and their beaks changed within decades to better suit more plentiful sources of food. In bacteria and viruses it can be observed within days sometimes.
@Joey_ott
@Joey_ott 8 лет назад
that isnt evolution, thats just because we eat more today, if people during the bronze age had the same diet as us they would be just as tall as us

@TessaBain
@TessaBain 8 лет назад
The branch with all of the reality show stars. All he's doing is acting like them and people are eating it up just like they do the shows. And hell, if it's not Sanders he's up against (which it probably won't be), Trump better win. At least he's just a fool likely to do nothing (notice all the backpedaling he's done lately as he became basically the de facto nomination for his side?). Clinton is a pandering, lying, piece of shit who shouldn't get anywhere near that office in an official capacity. Hell, she's probably why Trump is doing this at all. He used to support her so it's rather random that he went ahead to run against her. Wouldn't surprise me if he actually suspends after they both get the nomination. Which would leave the people who voted for him as the nomination, tied to him leaving them unable to nominate someone else. Leaving her, for all intents and purposes, the only one running.

@maxximumb

Homo Turpum Stulte It is a sub-species of Neanderthal that was thought to have not cross bred with Homo Erectus. Instead the species maintained a small but inbred population by shunning outsiders and hoarding resources. They typically fought battles against homo erectus armed with their causidicus. To use a causidicus for battle, consuumes a lot of resources, but they can be fearsome weapons.

@toucaninterieur8011 8 лет назад
:) In fact, it's not to take litterally (i mean, you can't make a woman from a rib). The right way to read the bible is to get the phylosophical sense of it. For instance, in the bible says that all humans come from one couple. Which is kinda true, when you know that a new species is often founded by one mutated individual. In reality, the authors of the bible used this analogy to teach men about how a lot of things work that way (languages, kingdoms...)

The pigmy mammoth (Mammuthus exilis) whose remains are found on Santa Rosa island (off the Southern California coast) are a separate species from the mammoths that once inhabited the California mainland. They are thought to have evolved over 30,000 years. This one tenth the time for Homo florenciensis to evolve.

Science suggest that some biblical histories, like the bloody river in Egypt and the fires from the sky who attack Sodom and Gomorrah could have actually happen (meteorites, red algae) Conclusion: The histories of the bible actually happened in real life. Science suggests that 1 meter tall humans, similar to the hobbits, existed. Conclusion: The histories of the Lord of the Rings actually happened in real life.

FUN FACT -- at 2:49 it is said that "they would have had to have shrunk very quicklu within about 300,000 years". thats NOT that quick. lets remember that within only 50 years the North Koreans shrunk at least 10 centimeters when compared with south Koreans. It is said that it is related to the limited diet the north koreans are submited to -- (or should i have said "sad fact"?)

This probably isn't genetic however. Just malnutrition. But you might be right, species can shrink much faster than they can grow.

+Jacob Anderson, There could also be some genetic change on the DNA flags that was switched [don't know the technical name other than "flags", something to do with epi-genetics]. It could be a similar thing as to what happened with dinosaurs evolving to birds, in which teeth became beaks in a very short time due to the DNA switching "off" the genes to make teeth instead of actually getting rid of that gene. It therefore caused a very "quick" [relatively speaking] change from beaks to teeth.

Welcome Olivia! You seem super cool. Also maybe talk to whoever does the lighting about the glare off your glasses? I know some RU-vid presenters with glasses (I'm thinking here of Jamin from PBS Game/Show) end up using frames without lenses, but you do you.

Obviously what has happened, is that they found Neverland. The skeletons they found are not of short adults, but the kids known as the lost boys. There was once an anomaly on this planet that kids would sometimes fall into, and they would be transported through time, and onto that island. The trip through time also wasn't kind to them, causing them to come out the other side deformed. The deformities soon caused their deaths.

Shouldn't the word "prehistoric" be used, rather than "ancient"? "Ancient" typically refers to the start of recorded history until the middle ages.

Shrinking by .5m in 300,000 years isn't that long at all. 300,000 years would be about 30,000 generations (assuming maturity of about 10 years). Dogs, which have been with us for around 20-30,000 years, or about 10-15,000 generations (2 years to maturity) have gone from the fairly uniform in size wolf to the Chihuahua at one end and to the Great Dane at the other.

True, but that happened through selective breeding. Natural selection tends to be *a lot* slower.

Modern humans have frown in size by around 10cm 0.1m over the last 100 years, mostly from a change in nutrition. A change of 50cm in 300,000 years is easy.

Chicks dug tiny dudes 'coz the economy was effed, and all anyone could afford was small apartments, and whole families needed to fit in there.. Also builders were even lazier, and so door frames shrunk by a half metre, sooo.. Survival of the shittest..

Quick thought, What if we made a simulation(with a computer capable of running it) of the big bang with all of the correct theorems, partials, and equations and we kept the simulation going in fast forward till the simulated universe was the exact same as the our universe, so we could theoretically make this and see what would lie in our future
@CoconutJewce
@CoconutJewce 8 лет назад
Because simulating our exact universe is likely impossible, no?
@Elendrial
@Elendrial 8 лет назад
Theoretically, if we had a computer powerful enough, although since we don't have a perfect model of the universe yet, the universe we created would likely turn out very different after ~14bn years. Also, in doing so, we would be as close to proving that we ourselves are living in a simulation as we could ever be! (if that interests you at all)
@toucaninterieur8011
@toucaninterieur8011 8 лет назад
You could, but you would have to scroll for a long time into the universe to locate one planet that has a civilisation on it.
