Right clicking the minimap icon and exporting the markers would help tremendously as we could simply import your markers. Edit: Here are the markers. To import the markers copy the text below and right the minimap iconand click import. Tyvm! Got the queen trapped first time following your guide with the tile import comment. Only thing I have to add is TAKE THRALLS from Arceuus spellbook. In stage 2 my thrall did 95% of my dps, speeding the kill up IMMENSELY. Because the thrall keeps attacking while you go under the KQ, you can't use KQ hp bar to time your flinching. I found you can attack KQ again as soon as your thrall fires its projectile for the 3rd time. Count your thralls attacks 1, 2, 3 - hit KQ and go back under. Such a cheesy and excellent way to get 1 kill for the hard diary as an iron

Good tip. if you're lazy, you can use the kalphite queen health bar to determine if you can attack. no health bar = attack health bar visible = stay under at least in runelite.

Thanks for the guide, helped me doing my first KQ ever. To clarify for any beginners out here, the ranged phase cannot be flinched. Instead you should do 1-3 hits with crossbow and stand under it, because its cycle is slightly faster. So pray ranged and eagle eye. I realize it at start, ended up killing it with 24 hp left no food. Got chanced a few hits.

Small thing - but I don't boss often and I'm just starting to use the tile marker to make bossing work for me. THANK YOU for counting out the tiles and pointing out the positions. You saved me a lot of time worrying if I had the marked tiles correct or not, and not a lot of creators do that.

Great guide! If you're on task and completed the hard diary for permanent ropes, I would suggest just using the rope instead of killing the workers, in order to save the task for more queen kills. Also bring a DDP++. Helps speed up the 2nd phase. DDS:ing when poison damage falls below 5 (or full energy ofc) seems to be a good balance. Poison is carried over from P1 to P2. Bringing holy symbol + prayer book to cure poison, along with more prayer pots instead of antipoisons, can allow for long stays if lucky with food and prayer pot drops.

Followed this guide exactly and it worked great. One thing I'd recommend is BRING THRALLS. They probably did 70% of the damage and made the kill a whole lot easier. I'd say its definitely worth waiting until you're finished A Kingdom Divided to do this task. GL everyone!

You are a legend for this. The 2nd phase took like 10 minutes to get through her protection prayer with Keris partisan but we got it eventually. 1 KC for desert hard complete. Stats: 75 atk, 80 str, 75 def, 79 hp. Simply couldn't get a kill normally as an iron with shitty gear.

Thanks so much for this! It was still tough, sometimes the queen attacked me when trying to position the guardians. Wearing full verac's for the whole fight really helped me. Thanks to you, I finished the hard desert diary :)

This worked exactly as it was described. I found using a crystal bow helped tag the mobs from a good distance. Managed to get the "Veracs only" achievement pretty easily this way. Hard desert diary finally done!

Thanks for the guide. One thing: If you bring thralls you can use them to count between attacks. Every 3 attacks of a Thall is usually safe for you yo attack And man is this thing unfun, both to kill and the drops.

This is hands down the best method. so easy if you are just looking for that first kill for diary. even managed to walk out with a Jar of Sand for my first kill lol

Good setup. I personally find using shift click to click under to be a bit easier than the right click on, but either way some good tips as I have been doing a bit of KQ on tasks here and there in hopes of the pic. Got a decent method goin from just messin around on my own but this is helpful for a new method. Cheers and have a great rest of your weekend.

Great and to-the-point little piece of content. Tried an "honest" kill and failed miserably (made even more of a pain in the ass by me playing a UIM). Having never ever flicked KQ before; the lure worked easily first try, and got the kill for diary with little to no food used. 10 out of 10, big like from me! Keep it up.

for every other GIM player, you can easily do this with a team mate. The rope you place will also be seen by your team mate, you will succeed in the task if you do 50%+ damage on just the second phase. First phase you can duo or let your team mate finish off.

Heck ya, thanks for the guide. After a bit of struggling with the set up where I had to leave once and come back, 26 minutes and 59 seconds total time it listed on the next attempt I got my hard diary 1 KC with keris partisan while on a slayer task.

Thank you so much for this amazing guide that still works in October of 2023! After getting a kill, I just leave and come right back to reset the room. To speed up kills I bring thralls & serp helm (make sure you don't wear the serp helm when hitting the guard). 2nd phase I've been getting pretty good damage using Veracs/thralls/poision from serp.

To anyone wondering why they can't see KQ from the east side of the cave: boucr filmed this on an ironman. Ironmen get their own instances for KQ, and, for some reason, you're able to see mobs from further away when you're in private instances. It's not your GPU drivers, RuneLite version, or GPU plugin settings. Do not adjust the television set. Everything is fine. Don't ask me why, ask Jagex. Source: u/Danthefierce in a thread by u/malfeasance1950 called "NPC Render Distance (Bug? Runelite Setting? Server Load Issue?)" on r/2007scape (posted Jan 1st, 2024)

Still works fine. Comments saying otherwise are wrong. Also, I don't think it's mentioned in the video, but you must flinch the second phase with melee. If you use range, you will get hit each time.

You should really discuss the second phase here. That is the only actual challenging part of the fight and it is going to revert back to phase one if you take too long trying to flinch with melee. On top of that range you cannot flinch with range or magic here.

This may be a dumb question, but how are you able to see the kalphite queen from so far away? I'm on runelite and I have my draw distance set to around 50, but it seems like once entities get more than 10 or so squares away they go out of view for me. Every time I get the guardians lined up and run out to aggro the queen, I have no idea where she is and more often than not she's somewhere that I can't lure her to the flinching spot from.

I wish I had an answer for you but unfortunately I don't know. I never encountered this issue. I was under the impression you can see the monsters in the whole cave since it's an instanced area. I hope you're able to find a solution.

Nvm, figured it out from an r/2007scape reddit thread "NPC Render Distance (Bug? Runelite Setting? Server Load Issue?)" by malfeasance1950 Apparently it's because you're in the _ironman instance_ of KQ. That's why you can see further. Nothing to do with GPU settings. That is incredibly convoluted... I was driving myself batty. Mains are apparently stuck with shorter view distance for KQ, because Irons get their own instances. Thanks Jagex!

In my experience there's no point killing little worker sh*ts, you can trap kq in the middle of 'em for the kills 2 and onwards if you are doing multiple per trip.

Did this Sept-24. Vid is OK but reality is, you won't get it set up like this. I accidently lured KQ into the far western corner. Stand under. Let her move. Move one tile. Repeat. By the time all the small ones spawned, she was trapped. Other tips = use thralls. Must do. Get the keris partisan. I hit over 100 with the 1 in 50 random. Take a special attack weapon. Keep trying. Won't be going back! 1 KC LETS GO

If you can remember which plugin do you use to see kq when she is so far away? For me I have to guess where she is stuck at on the middle pillar, but for you she is fully rendered even when you are at the entrance.

You'll have to keep flinching with melee in the second form as you can't flinch it with ranged or magic. It'll be slower in the 2nd phase but if you can use poison that'll help.

somehow first time trying this i got it right away. went out and get the desert hard for the ropes. yet after that it took me 12 tries to get it work ;_; xD coming back to this helpfull video because i keep forgetting how to set up the guardians lmao. thanks :D edit what the plugin for the squares around them? i tried tagging them but they get a blue outline on their body. edit 2. after 4 kills i found out she can also stack damage. suddenly i was at 17 hp getting hit twice xD damn that spooked me a little i had protect melee on i thought guardians also do 20+ damage but their max is 12. my biggest hit is 117 so far on the walking form. damn so nice to see :D

You've got the right plugin to show the squares around them (NPC indicators), it's just a setting in there you'll need to change :)

Thanks Boucr, you needed this to get the hard diary. took me a few goes to get it right but got it in the end. Hey on my screen i cant see past the nest, is there anything i can do to change my field of view to see the contents of the whole lair? I have a gaming laptop so I assume it shouldn't be the graphics card.

Apologies for the late response. With runelite you can use the GPU plugin to increase the draw distance

I've tried on Windows and Linux on a 2070 and 3060 respectively, with two different launchers on Linux... the draw distance adjustment does nothing. I've found issues on their github and they just say "you need OpenGL 4.3" and "turn on compute shaders" but all of my testing environments are fully compatible with OpenGL 4.3 and have compute shaders turned on. I've tried toggling it on and off multiple times, restarting the plugin/client each time... nothing. At this point I'm convinced it's a broken feature and they're just trying to divert attention from it. Would love to know if you can recreate your experience when making this video on current RuneLite. If it is only select hardware/software combinations that can do it, that's pretty overpowered in wildy.

i tried doing this, but my runelite wouldn't render in the KQ, even though it was as close as behind the two guardians, let aone the end of the room. is there a setting or plugin that i am missing?
