They say less is more. They say quality over quantity. Well... that is exactly what we focused on this week when doing our grocery shopping at Trader Joe's. There were some really exciting NEW products that came in this week, which we picked up, of course, but we also grabbed some repeat items from previous shopping trips because they were just that good.

The hold the cone tips would be really good to dip into a homemade cannoli dip or brownie hummus for like a cute dessert spread

I enjoyed the piquant popcorn. I the only thing that would make it better is using avocado or olive oil instead of safflower. I try to limit my intake of inflammatory oils. But it’s was really flavorful!

I agree with you 100%. Trader Joe’s just doesn’t seem to be willing to use olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil or even ghee in most of their products. Too bad bc there’s more and more consumers learning to avoid seed oils

The Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada grows many varieties of daffodils… Be careful with the sap that comes out of them. It could irritate your skin and it’s recommended that you put them in water for a few hours before you mix them with other flowers because of the toxicity.

Chickens usually take a break from laying in the winter when the light is less. They will pick back up as the days get longer in spring

I can confirm. My sister had chickens for a while and they didn't lay at all during the winter!

Yes, I agree with you and that has been the case but this year they stopped laying end of Fall. My Easter egger has been laying for weeks now. Our Rhode Island Red started to lay for about a week and then all of a sudden stopped and hasn’t not layed since. Maybe I shouldn’t worry so much about it until Winter is over :)

I hope Benson feels better!! I'm excited for Spring! I would love to get a bunch of daffodils. In New England, we had a bunch of snowstorms this winter. I'm so ready for warm weather and flowers!🌹🥀🌺🌻🌼🌷⚘🌸💐

I saw those hold the cone just now when I was shopping at Trader Joe’s. I agree with you that the whole cone is the better option! We love those at my house!

I’m definitely going to try the cone tips bc that’s my favorite part. They also have fairly clean ingredients. Sugar of course but they’re using coconut oil which is good for us

I always love seeing the daffodils in store - spring is on the way! It will be interesting to see what you think of those hold the cone tips. I wouldn't buy them myself but someone must have thought they were a good idea! Anyway, see you in the taste test 🥰

The cone tips I've tried are good, but they are a bit dry without soaking in the cold melting ice cream first. They also sit out in the bag much longer than empty sugar cones would so they get stale more easily. I think the yogurt cups in the 6 packs are 4 ounces, so maybe they're charging more for them now individually.

Put the hold the cone tips in the freezer for a few days... they'll soften to the texture you are looking for. I've gotten them in a huge bag from BJs (East Coast Costco/Sam's Club type big box store). The TJs Greek yogurt has been a go-to for me lately!

Had the popcorn in my hand and put it back, so can’t wait to see if you guys like it. Got Raspberry Mousse cakes today and put them in the freezer like you always do and yum.

No daffodils are from Ireland and I think that they are greenhouse grown. The ones that are in season in the spring are not and they'll be cheaper. Unless we don't get them this year.

The popcorn does sound good. I always add nutritional yeast when I make popcorn over the stove and it's so delicious!

oh im so existed that i can get something like the ¨hold the cone¨ things. There´s something i like to get at my local middle eastern ¨candy¨ store (i cant remember what they´re called) but they can get expensive, so im exited to get them at Trader Joe´s hopefully mine gets them in. (They´re kind of slow sometimes, i think i tried to get the creamer once and i couldnt get it) so....yea thats a problem. I get the old spice and i have been for years. so

I love daffodils too. Wanted some today but market didn't have them. As for the cones, they're not my favorite part of hold-the-cone, so I wouldn't buy them.

I've been wondering what happened to the cream yogurt. They were my go to if I wanted something sweet. I'm bummed that the individual yogurt has the animal gelatin ingredient. 😞

Honestly I am still on the hunt. I used to use salt of the earth but it’s gotten so expensive I stopped purchasing. Since then I’ve been using salt roll ons in between using secret aluminum free deodorant. The problem is I can’t find one that works long term.

@KatieHespe Me either. Some Native scents have been okay. Dove has one that is lavender and something else. I tried Lume. It made me smell like onions. Never ever had that before. Let me know if you find any others. It wasn't until I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer that I was told no aluminum deodorants.

Did you do anything to the daffodils before putting them in the warer? I bought the the last 2 years at Trader Joes, and they wilted before they opened. Not sure I want to try again unless I know there is a way to help them bloom.

I cut them at an angle about 1/2 inch from the bottom and then just put them in water. Sometimes warm water (not hot) helps them open faster.

Hens tend to lay less in the winter due to lower/less light. They will also lay less as they age.

The deodorant DOES NOT work. It leaves you wet and stinky. I’m bummed because I can’t find any aluminum free deodorant that works.

I dampen a cloth or a Viva Towel (which is cloth-like) with some Bragg’s (or Trader Joe) Apple Cider Vinegar and apply it, rubbing gently, in place of a deodorant. It works!!! Living in L.A. is a good test, since warm weather is our normal climate!!!
