great tutorial. was pausing it every few minutes, then going off and playing with what you showed, then come back and continue with the next part of video. With all the stopping to play every cool new feature, this video took me well over 4 hours to complete!! Thanks for this tutorial. When starting out with any new device, half the battle is getting everything to work together. Showing your preferences window helped me get the Minilab3 to work right away, because the PC default settings don't recognize the device properly.

Great stuff! How do I load the instance of Analog Lab into Ableton? I'm totally new to Ableton.

Question from an absolute beginner who wants to get into making this kind of music: how should I go about in getting that kind of 16th note, fast hi-hat type of beat? Is it something that people generally sample from somewhere or do they hit the pads to get it? I'm assuming it's the former, so is there a general way people get their samples for these fast type beats? I guess this question also applies to jungle/DnB type of beats.

How do I automatically activate arm recording if I navigate between track (min 6:05)? I always need to activate the little red button in Ableton to be able play the sounds with the pad. I I do not switch the record am button after navigating to a track I just can still play the sounds where the button in Ableton is activated. Thank you :)

Any chance you'll be doing tutorials with this controller? Your Mk2 tutorials were super popular too, and looking for mk3 tutorials, there isn't a lot other than "gettings started". Maybe something with reaper?

Its impossible to find a Windows version that works. The tutorial in Abelton tells you to open a"Link/Tempo/Midi/" tab that doesnt exist

Awesome tutorial with alot of tips and tricks! In DAW-Ableton mode, any idea why all my pads are all black without any light my default and not all white and lit up like in yours? They turn blue and are lit up when switching to Arturia mode, but return turns off back to black when going back into DAW mode. Weird.

good! good video. it has helped me a lot. I have a problem with the potentiometers on ipad with garageband or minimoog. If I put absolute in the midi control center it never remembers the value that it shows on the screen and always starts from the one that the knob has. If I move the knob with the screen and then manipulate the Arturia, it jumps to the position in which I left it with the Arturia previously. If I use relative it stays in some locked values. I would like to configure the knobs so that they send only to increase the value of the knob or to lower it. thanks for any help!

What up. I got this setup but it wont take my effects from Analog Lab V and apply them to Ableton live I just hear a generic piano sound played back and not the effects I have in Analog Lab. What up with that?

Hitting shift+record or shift+stop triggers a midi note. Super annoying, saw other people on reddit with same issue. Do you have a fix?

if ur in the states guitar center has black versions. have seen only one video showing them off. they look sweet. wish i woulda known before i got the one off amazon.

Hello! the other day I bought a midi keyboard arturia minilab 3 and at home I noticed that one key (E) 3 on the left is slightly higher than the rest by about 1mm. Is this cause for concern? how are you with that? Thank you!

if you raise up the volume fader it gets to 6db, but I need the max in the fader be 0db, is it possible to change that? I tried from softer center to edit the max volume but it didn't work!

I wish I could go to the other 8 pads in the drum rack at the press of a button. Is it possible to transpose the pads maybe?

Hi dude, thanks first of all thank you for the video, it was a big help in setting up the device. I had a small question, you mentioned the pads change colours according to the track colours on Ableton Live, but the pads remain white on mine. What could be the reason behind it?

I bought the minilab 3 and it doesn't work properly. The mapping that is supposed to be built in doesn't work. I put it in DAW mode (I use Ableton) and holding shift I try to hit play, stop, record, etc. but it doesn't work. Instead of performing those functions, it sounds the virtual instrument of the MIDI track I have loaded. I can't switch from one scene to another with the black knob. Any idea what's going on? I've read that it's because I don't have the latest version of Ableton Live 11, but the problem is that I can't update it. Would anyone know how to map from the MIDI Control Center so that I can use the loop, stop, play, record, volume, send A, send B, Pan, change scene with the knobs, etc. (like most people do by default)? The truth is that I don't think I can return it because I have activated the codes... help please :(

He man, my main encoder knob doesn’t cycle through scenes and shift turning doesn’t move across the columns. And my sliders do nothing…Does your controller app have different settings?

This is all cool. But how do you get there? How do you set up instruments , i find it very complicated and lost. 1st my new MK3 Keylab Essential 49 does not load the instruments seamless. I Have a iMac MiniM1 . I tried using Garage Band, that is a different story. Anyway, need more step to step setting up the Arturia with Ableton Live 11. can you do a video step by step in how to load the instruments on each track or channel? Please. How did you load the instance of analog lab in ableton? I'm able to use it as a control surface but I don't have that track available.

Somehow the worflow seems a lil confusing to me, may be i'll be better off with buying Launchky Mini Mk3?

I have no option of minilab 3 in preferences, just mk 2. I have Ableton Live 11, what could the problem be ?
