It's always fun to wear other aviation RU-vidrs merch! If you had made it to the ACCA, you would have seen me sporting a "Back to the FSDO" , "Positive Attitude" and a "Taking Off" shirt with a "Parr 4 The Course" hat. Nice upgrades and that panel is great. But that French toast breakfast cinched it for me! Now I’m hungry and I’m still in lockdown. I wish I could escape to a great restaurant on a Sunday morning, complete with a new panel full of great avionics and a Baron to carry me there. Oh well maybe my wife will cook 👩‍🍳 something up. “Hey Sweetheart, how does French toast sound?” ...

Very nice indeed. Nothing to do with avionics but nice thing about the twins is the dual alternator. Course u have the battery backup on your Aspen too.

Very nice panel; I had the Aspen PFD and MFD in my Debonair for the last seven years. Plus I kept the steam gauges, for example ASI, Attitude indicator, plus the Altimeter. One other feature, the 30 minute battery back-up on each the PFD and MFD. I have used it one time and found that the battery back-up lasted a little longer than 30 minutes. Blue Skies.

Getting caught up on your channel Kris........it's been awhile. Good looking panel. I love my Aspen EFD1000 and JPI930 in the CTR-182RG. I still find myself glancing at the old analog airspeed indicator and altimeter just because they are so much bigger to see and interpret from a glance. When flying IFR in actual or simulated my eyes stay focused better on the Aspen. One thing I like about my Aspen and you should have the same capability is to set a hotkey as a Minimums button. Then you can twist in minimum alt for approaches and get a chime alert.

@Baron Pilot, Awesome panel!! I really like the solid matte black, it just really goes with the avionics. I still think you need to get some custom knobs on your levers, CNC billet aluminum with Baron Pilot etched on the side.

Damn! maybe you should try one of those $40 mini A/C units that you put a small bottle of water in to cool the plane. They actually work very well...Nice the see 75W flying again! That was interesting I cant wait to see more of your new panel explained in your upcoming flights thanks for always sharing.I ate at that restaurant before crossing over to the Treasure cay,Bahamas one day the breakfast was pretty good.And yes the place is full of flight training traffic keeps you on your toes.another great video.

Nice upgrade!! I was wondering when Vero would get busy. I fly in once a month to our home there (in the towers) and I have actually had the tower turn me out of an approach due to all the flight school traffic! It’s like flying into a hornets nest some days! The tower does a fantastic job keeping it safe for us.

NIce Panel, I'm using the Aspen 1000Pro, with a 750. The only thing I don't like is the update schedule with the 750. Seems like they are only good for two weeks sometimes.

2nd vid I've seen with the E5. I have the 1000 and one thing I'm seeing that the E5 doesn't have is what they call the Nav Source Info Block. That tells you your source (GPS, etc..), next waypoint, heading to the waypoint, distance and time to that waypoint. it displays this in the top left corner of the Nav display (the bottom half of the aspen) and is priceless when it comes to flying approaches. highly recommend the upgrade, when the budget allows (I have no idea what it costs to upgrade). and yes, I get audible alerts when reaching/leaving bugged altitudes. good stuff, that aspen is.

I’ve been flying with the Aspen 2000 since 2012 and upgraded to the Max units last year. I think you will want to make the E5 to PFD 1000 jump. The 1000 can display your weather & traffic on the HSI moving map. In addition, gives you flight director capability, the data block and that altitude alert you are looking for. The nice thing is the upgrade is software driven. No need to replace the unit. Just do the software upgrade when the budget allows.

Your comment about hitting the alerts and sometimes not getting them, yea, it's a big bummer. you've released new vids and i haven't gotten alerts on them, like with many other channels. It's definitely a "sometimes' thing.

The panel looks good but the new engine panel seems to be partially hidden by the throttles & mixtures. Is looking between the levers a problem? Also, there wasn't any mention of the air conditioning upgrade. 😀

Still debating whether to go Aspen, Dynon, or Garmin - or maybe something else will become available in the future. Are you thinking about replacing your Century III with a digital autopilot as well? Stay away from Aspen --- piece of crap. Only EFIS that ever gave me red "X's" --- not only while airborne, but while on approach. Also, tiny characters and VERY non-intuitional buttons and menus. The fact that they are locally/home-grown gives them no leg up. Terrible units

LOL, I am all about backup systems but how many Ipads laptops handhelds and do you need to fly??? with a g1000 you have 2 MFDs and 3 backup guage's and that's it. Love the plane though! When you fly IFR you will see you have to struggle with a scan.
