I got the 1080 yesterday after my adidas boston 10 split on the sides. I wore some old brooks to run. Now my calves are killing me. I cant wait to get some miles on the 1080. So comfortable.

I'm starting to like my 1089 v13, where my feet are adapted to the differences of softness between the heels and forefoot areas. If I'm not mistaken, the heel area is a bit less mushy cushioning after two runs, and that made the feeling of heel to toe off much better. It is still a high cushioning shoes that weight a lot less than the competition, what is great. Definitely not a daily trainer for faster runs like 880v13 ( heavier but faster and more agile than the 1080 v13), a Pegasus 40 or a Wave Rider 27 . Great video Comparison.

Thanks for comparing a plated with non-plated trainer based on similar use cases. For me, it's still the same $160-$180 that I would spend.

I'm interested in your comment that you don't recommend the v13 for runs over an hour. I don't mind squishy shoes and ran my last half marathon in the More v4. The More is a heavy shoe which is why I'm considering the v13. How would you compare the v13 to the More v4, specifically with longer runs in mind?

Check out my comparison review of the More v4 v 1080 if you haven't done so already. In terms of long runs, I find them both too soft especially getting around the 2hr mark where the foam really gets sloppy. I think the hot climate where I live also contributes to this. For me if the foam gets too soft it makes me work harder in the later parts of the run as its a little like digging your foot out of sand and the foot and ankle are working overtime to stabilise. I like my long run shoes a little firmer that stay consistent throughout the run like the Boston 12 or Superblast. Thanks for the comment

Thanks for that. I hadn't thought about climate, so that could be a factor. I live in a cooler climate and generally run in the low teens to below freezing. I'll have to bear that in mind when I come to run in Australia in 2024 or 2025! I'll check out your other videos. Thanks again.

great video exactly what I was looking for! How would you compare these two too the Nike Invincible Run in terms of midsole?

The closest feeling to the invincible is the 1080. The SC Trainer with its carbon plate is stiff and heavily rockered.

The SC trainer V2 is very unstable at easy pace and it kills my hips..

Yes, stability on a nice wide NB is my need, as well. Hoping the 'More v5' leans stable, or that they otherwise produce something resembling a stable 'More'. Don't expel me into the lands of Kayano 30.

Let's hope the More v5 goes away with the neg drop feeling stiffens up a little and has a rocker you can feel!

Do you find that the 1080's upper is a bit too thick for hot Australian / NZ temps?
