Prices definitely higher in the U.K. Noticed NB 1080 V12 & Brooks Glycerin about £10 more than previous years. Just have to juggle the finances a bit and buy less things for my kids so I can still get new shoes 👟 😁

QOD: I’ve noticed prices increasing an average of $10, but the biggest shock was when I returned to running about 4 years ago after over a decade away from the sport. I was shocked at what was considered a low cost shoe at $120, when this price point use to be more near the high end shoes with top end shoes generally costing $140-150. Running is still one of the cheaper sports to participate in with respect to many others, but it’s hard not to notice price jumps over the last couple years.

My size 7.5men is almost never stocked in stores, so I always shop for women’s 8.5 or nine. Even if they are baby blue.

Inflation is every where, in México is even higher, I was able to get a good battery of shoes at the beggining of the year, the last one I bought was the Noosa 14, now I am ready for almost the rest of the year: Pegasus 39, Novablast 2, Endorohin Speed (got the 1 very cheap), still a very good pair of Brooks Hyperion Tempo and the Moore 3 for Easy days. I am getting out of 10 days of no running because of Covid, now all I need is health to make it happen.

Since 2019 I've been putting on the Beacon OG (baby blues) right after finishing each marathon; they're my feet caretakers to walk back to car/train after races anmd at home. Earlier I had run in them but honestly they worked better as slippers for home XD but they got old and I got the Tempo v2 expecting the same. I feel less cushioning and a restrictive upper :/ Still great for everyday use and for working... Nothing beats the Beacons for comfort :P

I’ve been watching since the baby blues NB Beacon 1 days Seth! Tuned in first to see a Vaporfly 4% review I think and went from there. Usually watch with my six year old daughter Edie every morning as we have breakfast. She loves to see the family footage and is a particular fan of Michael! Thanks for giving us a daily shot of positivity and family 😊

I miss the baby blues. I had the Beacon v1 and at the time I was almost revolutionary, and also have the v3 and saddened they’ve discontinued the range. In the zante line they always felt half a size small for me…wonder if this is more accommodating 🤷‍♂️. I still miss the beacon 😭

I tried to like the Tempo...but ended up going to the 880 for my daily trainer. The cushioning in the tempo is just too minimal for my sensitive 50 + year old feet.

Idk.. low and soft stack is awkward for me. I like low and firm or soft and hight stack. This shoe just seems off. Low stack, soft, but kinda heavy for what it is. Perfect sounding casual shoe for me 👌

Baby blues!! Beacons (rip) favorite shoe of all time. While I'm here could people suggest other shoes that are similar to how the beacons felt? I've come to realize my feet hate soft shoes and need a bit of firmness with some pop under foot. Thx

Agree, singapore pricing is somewhat random. Btw which walking shoe i should buy for a 75 year old, 68kg, slight pronation who has some knee pain. I was thinking light/medium weight , high cushion running shoes are good for walking.. correct ? NB Rebel v2 NB 1080 v12 Nike Invincible 2 UA wind2 Asics GT2000 10 Hoka mach5 ( but arch feels bit high)

I am a dissenter on the Beacons. I didn't like it after putting 2 runs (incl. a 15K race!) back in 2019 and having picked it back up in the last two weeks, it's exactly as meh as I remember. Just feels like a slab of firm foam with no give, no response. Maybe it'll break in with more miles? (I'm now at 44) I just don't get it.

QD: I have not really noticed the prices of running shoes going up in the UK much. However, as the cost of many other things has gone up a lot (gas, food etc..) my options of what shoes I can now afford has reduced a lot.

My 2 cents.. 1. Why relatively heavy? I see a lot of rubber in the sole. 2. Durabilty only 250 miles? I am pretty sure it will last much longer. Especially with so much rubber on the bottom.

Thanks, a useful full review. Just recently bought the NB (Fresh foam X) Tempo v1 on sale in UK for about £80. I was after a versatile shoe that I could do Tempo and speed sessions in and also use as a race day shoe (my wide feet can’t cope with these super shoes!). I was going to get the Rebel V2 as got great reviews but sold out of the 2e width so went with this. So far impressed, much lighter than my other daily shoes and enough cushioning still that I’m hoping I could race HM in it. Do you think V2 much different? I’ll maybe get once it comes around in the sale.

I found the NB tempo V1 at the NB outlet for $59.99 and buy 1 get 1 50% off. Great price for a good shoe. Tempo V1 was a very unique looking shoe with embroidery , tiger stripes etc. the Tempo V2 is just boring in comparison.

The Rebel V2 is one of my all time favourite shoe, never owned the Baby Blues thought. My current Rebel V2’s have 740km (465 miles) on them & I’ll retire them in 60km or so with them having taken me 500 wonderful miles. : Running shoes here in OZ have always been expensive & our range always seems to be limited compared to the US & Europe. Like everywhere else in the world the prices are definitely on the way Up. Let’s hope everything settles sooner rather than later returning some value to the customer.

Hi, I’m looking for running shoe recommendations! So I’ve been somewhat of a sucker for Nike. Have been running in Pegasus for years. Then last year switched to a Invincible/Tempo/Alphafly rotation and have absolutely been killing it across all distances with that combination. But I’ve never really given other brands a chance. As a German, I’ve had my fair share of Adidas, but I don’t get a snug fit in those. Based on those preferences, what non-Nike shoe could be the perfect match for me?
