Great job, love that you're incorporating some post review footage of the shoes in action and closeups. I think adding more of these video clips of what your discussing is awesome and makes it more RU-vid versus just watching a podcast format. Likely much more time consuming on the post processing end, but I think definitely worth it.

Yeah that has been a goal of mine to figure out. Glad it's proving useful!

Ok, I've owned all the previous iterations in the past, but this review put me over the top -- ordered! $72

How could you go wrong for $72??? Please follow up with your comparisons from some of the past iterations!

@@ConversationalPace I hope to; my last major run in V2 was a mountain 25miler, where they were stellar until the final downhill miles where i was wanting a bit more forefoot width & cushion. We'll see!

Great review! I’ve never been able to wear Solomon shoes either - now I want to try these out!

It's a fun one for sure! Not too much cushioning, but very responsive and zippy feeling.

Great episode. That particular color way is $89 on running warehouse now

Definitely the right time to try these shoes with a price like that!

These are at the discount retailers in the US right now. 59.99 I think.

Great stuff guys, loving the diversity of shoes being reviewed. Any La Sportiva action coming up?
@ConversationalPace
@ConversationalPace Год назад
There are a few that are on our radar for sure. I do kind of want to wait for the mountains to melt out and get more accessible before lacing up some La Sportiva models, since that's where most of them shine. Any in particular you are interested in hearing about?

@Conversational Pace I would have thought that the Akasha II was the all round shoe with greatest appeal, but I'm not that familiar with their range
@ConversationalPace

The Akasha II as well as the Jackal II seem to be a few that fall into that all round category. Something we'll look into for sure!

@@ConversationalPace Perhaps the Kaptiva? Similar to the Bushido2, but with less of a mid-foot cage, and wonderfully generous toebox, that can accommodate thick peba insoles like the inov-8. Just wish they'd try lighter mid-sole foams.

Well, I'll be returning the Summit Unknown V3, they have an overlay over the bigtoe joint that is abrasive and just plain hurts -- the 'toe protect' area overlay; if it was on one foot only, I might write it off and try wrapping tape around the joint, but not both feet.... the length is fine, nowhere close to hitting the front of the toebox; fine otherwise, i like the shock absorption of fuelcell, and my legs & feet feel good after today's up&down a steep trail. This is very unexpected :(

Ahh that's a huge bummer! Yeah I do wish that upper was a little less built up.

What do you guys think of this as a candidate for road-to-non-technical-trail ? If not a great option, any ideas for me? I was also thinking Sense Ride 5 since i tend to go salomon. thanks lads

Do you prefer a firmer or less cushioned shoe? This one was a little too low to the ground for me to enjoy any sort of road running in it. Sense Ride 5 would be similar as well with just a bit more cushion. Lately, one of my favorite shoes for roads and non technical trail has been the On Cloudsurfer Trail

For example I’ve run multiple 50 mile races in the s/lab pulsar and didn’t feel I needed more shoe. Going with ultra v3 for upcoming 100k based mostly on your review of it. That’ll be the highest stack trail shoe I’ve ever run in. Curious about On, they’ve leveled up in the past few years. Thanks. Puma is really far behind in the trail department but I love their road shoes and they have one called the voyage that competes with the summit unknown in tech specs/application. Curious to see what that shoe’s like

I have always thought of this Summit Unknown as a budget s/lab v3 with a bit more width. Perhaps this is the shoe for you to try!

Paid like 50 bucks for those today

Such a good deal! V3 is on mega sale right now because the v4 release is right around the corner.
