I’m an old guy, sort of like the guy at the beginning of the video. I have the arthritic big toe thingy-the dreaded hallux rigidus. I am just getting into a little running and am searching for a shoe to buy. I was looking at the Hoka Clifton 9 but found the large size, 2EE, was actually just a touch tight on the top of my big toe joint (where there’s a bump). I have sent away for the Bondi 8 in the hopes that my feet (and protruding toe joint) will fit okay. I have actually been thinking about the NB More v4 also. 2 questions guys (and I understand you’re young enough that you may not have researched this at all). 1-do you think that the 2EE More will be as wide as the 4EE Bondi 8 (given that the starting point for the Bondi seems kind of narrow)? Question 2: I know the Bondi doesn’t have much flex to it, which is beneficial to my condition - Do you know if the More has flex or not? Thanks. (love the humour btw)

Hey, John and thank you for the kind comment! I’m sorry for the late reply and I presume you’ve already found a shoe by now. It’s tough to say unless I actually get a look at your feet. I will say that the bondi 8 narrowed the toe box after the bondi 7 (not a smart move in my opinion). The More does seem to be a little less rigid and more prone to flexing. I’d say a 2e More would still not be as wide as a 4e more. Thanks for having great humor too!

Great review!! Is there any other sneaker equal or better than the nb more 4 at cushion? I use it to walk all day

Thanks, Mario! As for a new balance option, i'm currently wearing the 1080 v13 and its pretty similar just not nearly as clunky. another plush option that's similar would be the asics gel nimbus 26 but the heel-toe drop is a little higher.

So if I'm not a runner and I'm just trying to find a comfy shoe that I can stand in one place most of the day for work which would you recommend?

Both kinda fit the mold to be fair but I will say that I’d put more money on the bondi being able to handle more of a pounding than the more. The cushion can take a few weeks to break in on the bondi, though. If you want something very squishy instead of a firmer feel, go with the more.

I did 100+ km in rincon 3 now . Little narrow in the beginning but after wearing few times its fine now. Overall i liked them . My area around the knees feels less sore now than before in those rebooks. Now waiting for triumph 20 to release in India. So i can have a nice alternate pair .

Keep up the great work, man! They did a great job with the new version of the rincon. The triumph will feel like a cloud that you can run fast in. When does it release there?

@@zachsalek yeah thanx mate I was double minded between triumph 20 and shift 3 . Now i made up my mind for triumph 20. Its going to release in December i guess.

@@ipreet6850 that's very close. im not sure about the shift 3 but i know the shift 2 was a pretty bad shoe. it wasnt really good for anything. little cushion but not light. ok for lifting if anything.

@@zachsalek oh didnt know shift 2 was that bad, many youtubers spoke positive about shift 3 thats why i thought once but now triumph 20 is locked its final.

Yeah I’m a bit biased but honestly don’t know what direction they took the shift 3. I know I would never recommend the shift 2 to anyone for any circumstance at our run store here

Well if you each have mostly run in one of the shoes, you cant really compare the two with personal experience.

fair enough. we definitely came in there with a bias beforehand. i'm gonna start buying the shoes beforehand so i can do proper reviews and actually get a solid feel for them.

Is the More v4 midsole softer than those of the Nike Invincible Zoom X?

I have little to no expertise regarding the Nike invincible but Sam, my friend in this video said this: “Zoom X is a PEBA based foam so naturally it’s going to be soft but also give really good energy return. However it increases the price drastically and is less durable than the EVA foam in the more. Long story short: in my opinion the More is ‘softer’ but the infinity is bouncier”

I'd say yes. It's more of a sinking in feeling with bounce and push off. Whereas Invincible is bouncier and fun. I own both.

I've tried both, the NBs felt so much better. Waaaay uglier, but the comfort can't be debated, the a Newbies win

I just got the V4 as an alternate shoe to my clifton 8. Its super comfortable but man i dont like how chunky it is. I just wished they make it less of that insoles

Sorry for the late reply I’m not sure how I missed this. I just did my first official long run in it and it definitely is a clunker. The biggest issue I have with it is definitely the weight. It’s heavy as youve obviously noticed. I may lean a bit more towards the v3 as it isn’t so blocky

Though I have never personally owned either I definitely don’t agree with the changes they made with the 8 and I’ve heard a lot of people also agree that the roomier 7 is overall a better shoe. I’ll be curious to see what they do with the 9

Yes the bondi 8 I ordered are so cute but I agree on the odd discomfort on the side of the shoe. Such a shame 😢hopefully the 9’s improve on that factor Will try out the Nike ones hopefully they work out well!

Yeah give nike a shot. As far as I’m aware, hoka is really the only brand that gives that sort of discomfort due to its odd cut. They cut it very narrow in the medial part of the shoe

@@uglyfate1326 I can agree with that but we all know how the Hoka cushion dies but we have no clue with the new New balance but I want to guess that it dies harder than the hoka
