Oh Steve, please don't compare that with the cybertruck. Unrelated, do you think a plated racer like this is overkill for someone at slower paces (like over 10m mile)? I'm in love with the Rebel v4, I have over 150 miles in it so this one is tempting.
I run my long runs in the elite v4 and use for races and training and my marathon pace is 9:30-10 it feels good to me even at my easy pace of like 10:30-11:30
I would say it isn't overkill. Will the plate in the shoe greatly improve your time? Not really, but you'll have fun with it. We have a staff member who is obssesed with the carbon plated shoes who runs in that same 10 minute mile time. You cant buy happiness in running, but you can buy a shoe that will make you happy.
