im gunna buy one so that everytime i miss a 1-timer I can say that there's a hole in my stick.

How is no one at that rink ? That Ice looks absolutely perfect. Here in Montreal that ice would’ve been jam packed on a daily basis

Back in the 70's growing up in Saskatchewan hockey was a religion. This stick reminds me of how we cut out our blades to play with sponge pucks. Picture it without the part above the slot and the tip level with the bottom of the slot. It added a definite whipping effect. Nice skills by the way 👍

I was experimenting and did this to a few wooden sticks when I was a kid, just to make it lighter and to look cool. I had durability problems with mine though, however, I should have patented it. :) I also drilled holes on the midsection part on goalie sticks to make them lighter too - feel free to steal that idea too :)

5:15 WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WITNESS

I’m glad I found this: I invented the slot technology thru Christian bros. The stick was called the rinker. The rinker was designed for ball hockey, still the best design ever for using a ball. As ball hockey was becoming more popular the stick was made of Deleon plastic, I tried in vain to convince Christian to make a graphite design for high end players, they wanted a low end market stick. I wish I had pushed my patent more to this stick and the ball version. I still have a prototype graphite version of the rinker. I was well ahead of the time.

Is there a chance you’ll start using this twig?

I remember after I got my first synergy and broke it and had a two piece as backup the puck felt so heavy these stick technologies are so fascinating

will leaving the slot exposed create less resistance going through a slap shot giving you more power?

If you tape it traditionally, doesn't that kind of reduce the bottom part of the blade's ability to flex as much as it could? It's not like the tape is a super solid structure, but I still feel it could partially inhibit the entire purpose of the design. I would tape the bottom part, looping through the hole, and then the top part, also looping through. To leave the hole intact, and the upper and lower separate.

Should tape it full,. Then cut out the hole with scissors or a knife and see how it feels. Reminds me of the reebok o-stick, and that was good enough for Datz to use lol

This is the best puck handling I have ever seen. I'm gonna take a drill and saw to my stick so I can work it like this.

I’ve had the sling for about a month now. I had the adv for a while but I like the sling much better. Highly recommend

One issue I can see if there was no tape would potentially be a stick check might get the sticks caught up. Under normal play though, I doubt that much tape would come off.

Neat , I see a lot of people saying it won't catch on but maybe some day something will and I will be a game changer just like Stan Makita with the curved blade, fiberglass reinforced wood sticks and all the way to modern one piece sticks . Maybe telescopic sticks will be the next thing

Yeah I remember when they started putting the plastic inserts in the shaft with the holes in them and now they don’t do that anymore

The definition of "hole in your stick" is taken to a whole new world

Not only does it look weird but does it lessen the integrity of the blade? It seems like a decent poke check might shatter the blade. I'm sure they strengthened the blade with that in mind but it would be in my mind.

If the hole was in the middle that would be pretty cool potentially for ball hockey. It would make it a bit like a floor ball stick which would give better control.

You did the tape job wrong. You’re supposed to cut out the middle.

Pavel, if you play your video in slow motion, can you visibly see the bottom portion of the blade bend? I also wonder if this design would make the shot better from the middle of the blade vs the toe.

Whatever he is doing has nothing to do with the hole in the blade.

You should do a radar test see if the velocity is in fact higher in comparison to sticks without that hole.

if you're slapping the puck at any height off the ice, the pick might fire off the blade at an odd angle if the puck hits into the hole at all. I can easily see this messing up how people receive passes or shooting pucks that aren't perfectly on the ice.

I've had several goalies tell me to never use white tape. White tape makes it easier for the goalie to see the puck coming off the stick How is it for passing and receiving a pass?

THIS CONCEPT CAME OUT IN THE 70S WITH MULTIPLE SMALL HOLES IN THE BLADE, THEY CALLED IT, "AIR FLOW."... IT DIDN'T CATCH ON THEN AND IT WON'T CATCH ON NOW... IF IT AINT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.

Can we get you to break out the radar gun and compare the slingtech of this Bauer Nexus ADV to your True AX9? Love to know if it provides any realistic advantage to the speed of your clappers or snap shots.

This hole-in-the-blade concept is one of the stupidest ideas in the history of hockey sticks.

It would be fun to tape the bottom and the top of this stick separately and see how it feels. Still have the benefits of the tape and the benefits of the hole.
