Hey everyone! Here is a comparison on both the new Beretta 92X Perfomance and the M9A3. I hope you guys enjoy. Make sure to subscribe for more new content, and leave a like or any comments with any questions you may have. Thanks!
Nice video. I had the pleasure to shoot the Beretta 92X Performance at the 2019 IPSC European Handgun Championship on Belgrade, Serbia in September before the gun was available on the market. I thank Beretta and Roberto Vezzoli, Beretta Team Member, for loaning me his personal Beretta 92X Performance for the competition. The 92X Performance was designed as IPSC competition gun. All the design changes and enhancements made to basic 92 design for the 92X Performance where all with the view of making the gun a great competition gun. Simple as that. As an example, the reason why the safety is on the frame rather than on the slide, is because it is easier and faster to engage and disengage compared to the safety on the slide such as on the M9A3. You can also rest your thumb on the safety to ensure that the safety is never accidentally engaged which would be a real downer during competition. You can also apply pressure to the safety to help control the gun's recoil so it helps with recoil management. The Brigadier slide was use so to add weight to the gun to help with recoil management. As a result the recoil is softer with the 92X compared to the M9A3 and the muzzle flip reduced due to the added weight. And the Brigadier slide is wider, the taken down lever was enlarged to make it easier to activate the lever but there is another use for it. The enlarged takedown lever and be used as a thumb rest giving the 92X an advantage over other IPSC or USPSA Production competition guns. A thumb rest allows to to put forward and downward pressure on the frame to help keep the muzzle down during fast shooting hence reducing / controlling the muzzle flip. So, all the design enhancements on 92X Performance in comparison to the M9A3 are for competition reasons but that is not to say that the 92X could not be a carry on. It most certainly could be. The key is that you need to practice regularly with the 92X to ensure you are extremely use to and comfortable with the very light trigger pulls both in SA and DA. There really is no comparison between the two guns. M9A3 is a very nice handgun and was designed for military / law enforcement purposes. The 92X Performance was designed for competition and is a finely tuned gun making it a much more accurate gun especially when shooting fast. Check out my First Impressions video on the Beretta 92X Performance as it is a nice complimentary video to this one - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e0nh25D-WbM.html .
i always laugh when youtube folks make a point of showing the audiance that the gun is safe, as if it's not, the bullet will reach out over the net and hit a viewer. great comparison .
Excellent video for this being only your second RU-vid video. I love Berettas and as soon as the Langdon Tactical 92FS is back in stock I plan to get my copy. Hopefully you can do a review of the LTT 92FS
You did a great job with the video by the way. All the best with your channel and I will subscribe. You will do well. 👍🏾 Your right about the Cz shadow 2. It’s a great gun too. I looked at that too before I made my purchase. I could have bought the CZ shadow right away but decided to wait however long it’s going to take to get my Beretta 92x.
had em both. wanted an m9a3 pretty bad, snagged it up, sold it after I got a 92x performance. I think my m9a3 had a smoother slide/ action, however, once my 92xp get's broken in, perhaps it will be just as smooth. I would have liked my 92xp to have come with a third mag as does the m9a3 and I would have liked the mags to have been 17rnd mags like the m9, especially since it's a gun aimed at competition. I prefer the frame mounted safety on the 92 but I had no issues with the g decocker on the m9. I like the heavier weight of the 92, I like the thick slide, I think the extended thumbrest/takedown lever could have been extended a bit more for its intended purpose. It's extended enough to be annoying and that comes from a person with small hands. I like the trigger guard on the m9 better and I do appreciate the treaded barrel, but if you're in a state where you can't get a suppressor, (you probably can't get either gun anyway) it doesn't really make a difference. I like the versatility though and you can order a threaded barrel that will drop in anyway. I love the forward serrations of the 92 and I love the finish. I don't appreciate the safety warning markings all over it, but the gun looks so nice that I happily ignore them. The trigger on the m9a3 really is not bad at all. You have to be pretty nit picky to say much bad about it for what it is. The 92 does have a shorter reset, more clear of a wall, etc. But again, it's a premium, competition pistol. I will probably get another m9a3, but if I could only keep one (in which I did), I'd keep the 92x performance. It's one of the few pieces I have that I really do drool over.
I’ve got the black m9a3 with a Langdon trigger job in a bag and the optimized trigger bar that has a super short reset & I love it. But the 92x performance is absolutely beautiful. Did you try to interchange the mags just to see if they’ll seat in the gun? I’d be interested to see that.
That's a great choice that you went with! Yes, I just tried interchanging the mags, and both mags fit perfectly on either one; and they do cycle the rounds. However, I have not tried firing them yet. I will contact Beretta first before doing so, just to make sure it is ok on either pistol.
It seems like no one has address the awesome extra undercut in front of the trigger guard for your support hand that is amazing and I haven't seen too many gun makers do it
I still favor the feature set of the M9A3. I can shoot suppressed out of the box with the threaded barrel. I also like that the "g" model has only the decocker. The standard night sights are a plus as well. How do the prices compare?
I have the m9a3 and loved it from the start! My favorite beretta I’ve ever had ! Love the handle etc and feel. But when I heard about this gun the 92X I kind of wish I had waited but I guess I’ll have to break down and eventually get this near perfect specimen of a gun too! Always wanted a beretta with the brigadier slide AND with the vertec handle and this has both plus a steel frame! Can’t beat it , except the weight will be heavy but who cares unless your a police officer or full time carry which this gun is probably too nice for that anyway lol!!
Congrats on you M9A3! even though they have many differences, they also share many similarities and are both great! you can't go wrong with Either. Hit that subscribe button for new updates! Great vids will be out soon.
the deal breaker for me on the 92X performance is the blued barrel and no decocker. Been told the recoil impulse is similar to the CZ shadow2. I don't like the fact the CZ nose is heavy because it causes pistol to dip too far down causing slower follow up shots.
The frame mounted safety makes this decision easy for me. I hate the slide mounted safety. This 92 x reminds me of my old Berettas, which I greatly prefer.
I'm looking to get my first home defense pistol and have been heavily leaning towards the M9A3. Is there a varient of the 92X that you (or anyone) thinks would be better than the M9A3 for home defense?
Not directly, But I will tell you this.... the Langdon Tactical (Beretta 92 LTT) has great features and added improvements on the M9A1 wich is a gun that performs great (stock) out of the box. So it should only make the gun better! As for Wilson Combat...My AR-10 is made by Wilson and it is nothing short of excellent. They make top quality products.
I'm really interested in the 92x! I have a wilson combat brig. It's super nice and accurate. I had an m9a3 and sold it. Probably should have kept it and just changed out the high ride sights. I really like that the 92x has a safety so can be carried cocked and locked. Would have to change the sights on it cause I hate fiber sights. But nbd cause it looks like that is all i would have to do!
Like you I am a big beretta fan and just purchased a 92 brigadier. I have never had an issue, like most, with the slide mounted safety. The brigadier has a thicker slide and is a heavier gun than the 92fs. Other than the safety and the grip, what are the differences between the performance and the brigadier? I hope not much because if there is I know that I will be asked the eternal question...”just how many guns do you need?”
Thank you for reaching out! I know they made subtle changes but I am not exactly 100% sure what they are from the brigadier. I know if you reach out to Beretta that can probably email you all the specs of each with the differences. Make sure to subscribe! I have great videos on the way.
Subbed. Trying to decide if the beautiful 92x is worth the stretch cash wise over the Sig Legion X5. But then the heart is aching for the Sig 1911 nightmare in .45
@@ProForceSecurity Good to know, thanks! This is pretty out there, but is the slide compatible with the 92a3 frame and vice versa? I doubt it, but I'm real curious.
The m9a3 trigger is much better than a regular 92, but the 92x is even better than that. It's the weight of the 92x that bothers me. Heavy is good but 3 pounds is too much.
i got a 92F that i bought around 1985. i havent been into shooting now for 20 years...maybe longer. these 2 models are new to me. can you tell me the difference between my 92F and the 2 featured in this video? thank you
The reason they moved the safety has nothing to do with cocking the slide. It’s a competition gun so they emulated a 1911 action so shooters can bypass the heavier DA pull and shoot immediately with the light, shirt SA pull. Also, muscle memory is familiar with the 1911 in taking the safety off.
Can you swap the m9a3 upper to 92x? Does it work or it doesn't cuz of the the frame safety? Have you tried to see of it lines up since there both vertec frame
I have had the M9 A3 for a while I think I prefer it over 92x I wish it had the 92 x sights and Trigger though I still don't think any Beretta will beat the CZ Shadow 2 that gun is just awesome
The 92X performance is their nww standard full size pistol, while the the 92X perforance is all steel, has a lighter trigger designed competition, a longer barrel, and is a lot heavier. Make sure to subscribe for new videos coming soon!!!
I have shot with both. While 92x-performance is a super nice looking gun, it does not deliver a right weight balance for shooting. The M9A3 also has some deficiencies. With some upgrades/mortification M9A3 will be a much better gun to shoot. I solely shot with them in competitions, and can't talk about their performance as a self-defense or combative mean.
Beretta 92 X Performance. The only pistol I would pay $1400 for. When I spend $1400 I usually buy AR's. I have to get this when it becomes available again. It's sold out on every Gun site I visited.
I just picked up my 92x Performance and took it to the indoor range. The sights were way off, it shot low and to the right. I had to adjust the rear sight height all the way up and windage 4 clicks to the right, and then it was sighted in. The 15 round mags that come with the gun worked perfectly, but the 17 round mags from my M9A3 would not feed reliably every other round or so, and the spent casing would stay in the barrel and the slide would stay back while trying to push the next round in. I locked the slide back, removed the magazine, then the spent case would fall out of the barrel. I looked at both magazine followers, and they are not the same. There is a curved groove on the 17 round follower, but not on the 15 round that comes with the gun. Are you having this issue?
I adjusted mi rear sights a couple of clicks because is was shooting a bit low at first, but once I adjusted it, it was great! I am using all my old mags from my 92A1, 92FS, M9A3 and it is working perfectly fine. It could be possible your mag springs could be bad but if that was the case, your M9A3 would also be jamming. I would call Beretta and see what they say. Good luck👍
I'm considering getting the 92x and selling a couple of other guns I've got but I really don't shoot very much I do have a good number of Beretta 92 mags and if this gun doesn't act reliably with Legacy magazines then I'm not going to be interested in it I'll keep my Witness Limited even though it's a 40 and just shoot that
How the heck did you get the Beretta 92x performance 9 mm already? 😍😍😍 Put my order in last week and paid for it. Just waiting for my Beretta dealer to get one. When did you place your order and what company did you get it thru?
Pro Force Security Wow 🤩. That’s fantastic. Good for them. Do you know how long ago they put their order in? Thanks for the update. 🙏🏾 I actually have a pre order in at TWO different stores. So far neither of them can tell me when I will get it. All they can say is they’ll call me when it gets in. I do hope it’s sooner rather than later.
ProForceSecurity thanks I don’t own a beretta but always thought about it but never really went with the idea But the 92x performance might change that
my only complaint about the beretta is the blued barrel not good!! They should have nitrited it. also for ccw the beretta would be too heavy for most kydex to hold it securely because if you trip and fall the guns hefty weight could result in it falling out of waistband
