I just bought a farmstick a few days ago because i want to try my hand at logging.. just something different to cows and grass. tress are growing, so just need to get through a couple of in game years to test it all out. i am looking forward to that day. thanks for the demo.
Finally, something dedicated to farming/logging!! I was waiting for something and nearly bought the T.16000M. So happy I waited. Will buy 2 of the Simtask Farmsticks for sure! Now find a way to mount them in such way that I can still use my gear for other games (racing) too.
ive driven backhoes, tractors, forklifts and stuff at the orchard i work at, so i know how it feels to drive with a wheel and play with levers. this kit and setup is great, thanks for showing off this cool equipment
Can't wait to try the farmstick out with Star Citizen as my left stick in a SoS setup. had a M16000m but i broke it was just going to get another one but this is SOOO much better.
I wish the stick could hold its position or we had a slider for speed, so we didnt have to hold the stick to drive. Maybe the scroll wheel can be used for speed after activating autodrive. I want both the joystick and the wheel and kit now :D
I saw the stick back in stock on Amazon this morning after being unavailable for months and I bought it so fast lol! I was wondering what I'd do about looking around in the cab and using that mini directional stick is a brilliant idea. Great video!
I have the Thrustmaster farm stick, no, I have a problem. I have all the default settings, but the clamp does not open, which settings should I change?
For the Steering Kit - do you know how wide and deep the desk clamp is I play on a corner desk that has a cutout curve - I'm worried the clamp isn't deep enough to clamp into the corner.
I checked the manual - but it doesn't have dimensions of the mounting slot. In the manual - it looks like the turning knob should be mounted over the wide grip at the top of the wheel - maybe that will make it mount tighter. Your's looks like its mounted slightly below that knuckle.
So the steering wheel isn't spring loaded so that it goes back to the home position if you let go of the wheel in a turn? That's huge for me because the logitech one is so awkward to drive with because the wheel snaps back to center if you let go.
I've been using the Saitek Side Panel since FS17 (they've since been taken over by Logitech), I've enjoyed the smaller (fingertip?) joystick controls for loader work, preferring it over the bigger handgrip style joystick. But the buttons are getting unreliable, and it could be time for a replacement - and this could be it... or maybe 2?! For the steering wheel mounting: I have a generic steering wheel stand - would you say this wheel would be ok to mount on the stand? and with or without the mounting bracket?
Wait, how are you moving camera without using joystick/mouse? You could see that in combine, the camera is looking around without touching joystick/mouse
It might actually fit but depends how big the gap is to your keyboard tray. I would suggest measuring before u buy. Without the steering kit im not confident the wheel alone will fig but i could be wrong
you could always just you some thick rubber pads for spacing but I dont feel confident that a keyboard tray is sturdy enough to hold the wheel in place when you use it
You're wrong about using a joystick for controlling combines. It's a throttle leaver so it stays where you set it, you don't need to hold it like you would with a joystick. So you'd need a THROTTLE to control a combines speed rather than a JOYSTICK.
Actually you’re kinda wrong. The only difference is this joystick is self centering so u have to hold it. It’s a combination between the joystick the throttle is just a set button u still move with the joystick
do you know if this would be compatible with logitech steering wheels because ive been looking for a joystick but i don't want the logitech side panel nor do i want to fork out 400 or so bucks for the hori one
Thanks for the video... Would it be possible to get measurments for the mount holes for the wheel might help to see if its possible to mount other wheels as well
Looks pretty sweet. Wish I had a dedicated place to put one. I have my pc hooked to my TV and I doubt my wife would put up with this setup on our couch lol
Hey, I'm wondering what it's like trying to turn the wheel using just a finger along the inside of the wheel(like using the inner strut along where the horn would be, but either side)? Is it pretty easy or a bit tough? Would you be able to comfortably spin at least close to the full 900 that way?
I spent well over 200 hours in a john Deere 6410, 6300, 5410 and kubota 7060 haying this summer and are currently waiting for snow to start cutting fire wood and you are going to think why would you wait for snow well because you can get to more places to cut trees when the Ground is frozen and the snow keeps your wood cleaner so you get better end product with less time sharping chains dew to muddy logs dulling them up fast
