honestly the idea of having two sticks for left and right looks great. but i hate mounting and dismounting all that shit tbh. I really would love to have a chair with a second plate of some kind where you can mount everything onto and when you dont need it you just rotate it to the side. And also i bought the T248 exactly just for this joystick and mounting kit that is gonna get released soon. but i hate it so much that the left switch is also only for different setups. I dont need that crap , i want to be able to freely asign every single button. Cause i was hoping to use the left one for gears and right one for groups for manual shifting. So thats one thing that upsets me a bit about that wheel. but im quite excited to get my hands on one of these joysticks too
They look fairly symmetrical already though - except the thumb controls on the top of the stick. Not like the space sticks that have "ergonomic" shapes clearly made for one hand or the other. Noted that the new stick was lacking the left/right hand switch underneath as well.
@@roelmuziek We all know they’ll make more money selling them individually. They’re listed as singles. I doubt they would remold handles for a left and right. Trust me, I wish they were a left and right sold for 200 I’d buy em but it’s their business tactic.
How diffrent is the joystick feeling? I have a farmstick and i want to buy another joystick but its cheaper with t.16000m and i dont really need more buttons than that so if the force adn smoothness of the joystick is roughly the same i want that
Personally I love the location and mapping of that mode control button, which gives you access to a lot more controls as a result. I can’t think of anywhere else I’d want it to be. I get that the logging buffs don’t need the extra controls but for the field farming players that mode control is an absolute must.
Ooo, thank you for the detailed review. I'm a loader operator and the details really matter to me and now I have an alternative to a pair of VKB gladiators. I'm really disappointed that I can't map the dual triggers to shuttle forward/reverse, though I'm more used to the Komatau/Wacker layout with ahuttle on the top so I can probably live with it even though it's not ideal.
Question: I bought 2 TM 1600M's and used them once. Two reasons: 1. had to re-map every single time I unplugged and re-plugged(a necessity if I wanna play other games) 2. The joysticks felt stiff as hell, couldn't be as precise as I am with a regular Xbox controller, which I was told I'd be far more precise. So question is, are these the same way on both points?
Although I admit I scrubbed through the video, I can still say it was a great review, so thanks. I am quite interested in this stick, however I'm concerned about being able to comfortably access all of the controls on the head of stick. I have little T-rex hands, and I can't imagine I'll be able to control the hat joystick without lifting my hand off of the rest. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you accessed it, it looks like your hand was up off of the rest, albeit you were simply demonstrating and not using it as intended. That said, it appears you'd still have to move your hand up the stick a bit to get to the hat and wheel. Am I wrong here? Now I think I could tolerate not being able to use the hat joystick, yet I know it will become tiresome. Also, I'm not confident I would be able to bend my thumb under enough to accurately, and comfortably for that matter, access the six buttons at the base of the head. I actually use HOTAS to play MMOGs whereas I'm constantly panning the camera as well as the other buttons. I'm just not sure the constant need to move my hand, assuming this is a fact, will not end up being prohibitive in terms fatigue. Can you give me an idea of the ergonomics in practice, say, when using it as a flight sim stick? Thanks
It doesn't look like you can lock the twist handle, these are a no go for me then as I have had enough of tuckin wires and rearranging the twists potentiometer every 3 weeks
Hey FDR!! Slimjim here... been a while since I've played but those sticks look sweet! Maybe I'll get off the tugboat long enough to try them one day....
Currently looking for the smoothest config for my T6000's and im interested in what key bindings you use. It looks really smooth. Could you write it out maybe? :)
Is it worth buying 2 of these for joysticks for first time joysticks or better to save money and buy the regular t16000Ms? Not being used as much for logging but more general gameplay with loaders and maybe getting into logging.
look like modded version for t16000m. there are just twin cheap made joystick .My 2 t16000 broke like many people, on z axis.(twist) fs22 often mixing right and left joystick on start. so needed to remap. there are at cheap price but cheap made. i have switch to twin vkb joystick. its day and night more expensive but there are tought better feeling. I really recommend vkb. you can find 3d print mount for desk too.
Id gotta say this new Farmstick feels way more sturdy and firmer build quality than the T16000m but I never really had any issues with the T16000 over my 4 years of abuse, hoping these go just as long!
The Z axis issue with the stick is often just the sensor coming loose due to poor assembly. You can just put it back into its place and maybe fix it with some hotglue so it wont come loose next time.
Yes sir ill definitely be buying a set through your website win these get a available. Thanks fdr for all you do for use loggers your definitely appreciated 👍
@FDRLogging how did you find the tension/resistance on the farmstick compared to the tm16000? I find the tm16000 very light compared to a real machine.
They are Thrustmasters. I'm pretty sure you can write your own scripts ( or download other's ) for it with the TARGET Script Editor ( or even in the GUI I'm sure ) so you can do whatever you want with those trigger buttons or any other buttons/axis. As far as I know that is a trigger to switch between drive and workmode on complex machines.
yeah at the time of the review the target software didn't have these as detectable sticks just yet, so Im hoping when its released I can make the changes ;)
I have been looking at going dual joystick setup for logging. My question is how do you setup for dual joysticks. I figure they each have to be in there own usb but how would it recognize which is right and left. I already have your maps mods and controls just haven’t touched any of it or set key binding cause I was waiting till I got joy sticks.
You just plug them in and then YOU assign the controls to left and right, each usb has its own special "ID" number so your PC and game remember which is which
@@FDRLoggingsweet that’s what I needed to know I wasn’t sure. I think I will buy a pair of these then. Cause like you I have ran equipment for years. And don’t do a lot of logging cause I’m so used to equipment joysticks I get aggravated with a Xbox remote when I can’t be as smooth 😂. so I got all your mods equipment and the control lay out just waited on binding anything cause I wanted to get joysticks first. Cause I’m setting key bindings just like the equipment I run.
@@highball73 oh I do love them, just these would have been better and plus, they don’t have those stupid sliders at the bottom that constantly move my map
@trollwayy5981 yeah I agree I turned my sliders off and my map still moves around hate it anyways is it to late to try and send your sticks back for a refund ?
