I think it’s great. When I bring thermites, I still have situations where impacts would’ve saved me (which is good because it makes me feel like my lodout has an impact) as well as situations where an anti tank would still be better. It’s just a small substitute for the times you don’t have good anti tank options that makes the game feel less punishing for trying something different
They're beyond solid. Taking engineer armor is good, but I've made the swap to Servo Assisted to help get those Kobe throws into a heavy. It makes it much easier to land from relative safety. If my load out benefits from a supply pack, they completely cover heavies for me. Grenade Launcher, Grenade Pistol, or Eruptor pair well with Thermite. If I take something like Las or HMG, I'm probably taking Gas or StunGrenades. I'm interested in trying Arc Thrower, Gas Rover, N. Bombardment, 500, Scythe, Nade Pistol, Thermite. I'm still taking one of Eagle Strafing Run, 500, OPS, or EAS to cover wave clear, structures, and heavies when there will be other collateral DMG. Strafing Run is almost as versatile as EAS now.
Yeah, I’ve found it excellent post-patch. Great well-rounded engagement ranges, shuts down hunters extremely well, good ammo economy, and can still cut through all but the biggest of hordes when I need it to.
@@thequestionableyarnball5631 I still consider it a bug weapon, against bots the extra stagger is a disadvantage in some ways. The first shot on a trooper flinches them and you're likely to miss the second. It's just actually a decent bug weapon now instead of being subpar everywhere.
To me the biggest winner has been the crossbow and surprisingly the Dagger laser pistol, cross bow now has area and high damage for the bug side and it was already good on the automatons. The reason de dagger is good now is because it ignites the enemies in fire almost instanly making it the best sidearm agaist bug and very good for the automatons if you are acurrate. Dagger is also the perfect side arm for those explosive weapons that you can't shoot at close range.
@@ibsensoundThat depends on the difficulty. At higher difficulties, the Ballistic Shield is useless against Hulk Busters & rockets of any sort. Better off with the Shield Generator Pack.
In my opinion, they should just completely rework the liberator concussive to fire high explosive rounds and rename it to something like "liberator Explosive"
@@jamestillman5247 I think it's pretty bad, crowd control is just not good enough for the amount of killing power you give up. Much easier to kill enemies with other primaries.
TIP FOR RECOILESS: the recoiless has a 3 step reload animation. you cancel the reload anytime and when reloading again the helldiver will just continue the reload where he has left it. You can also cut the end of the animation by swapping weapons/opening&closing stratagems as soon as you have inserted the ammunition inside the recoiless. You can just look bottom left of your screen, when the ammo turns white, cancel the closing animation and get back to running/firing faster! EXAMPLE: you shoot a charger, and reload immediatly. you've just thrown out the used ammo, but cancel the reload cuz a chargers comes in and you have to avoid it. One simple side step and you're back to reload. Ammo in the chamber, instantly triangle triangle, aim & shoot again. Dont sleep on this, or you'll feel like the Recoiless is slow & clunky. But it's an efficient anti-tank powerhouse, the main, most powerful asset a Helldiver can secure in their loadout, to wipe the biggest ennemies before they even become a problem. This 3 step cancelable reload mechanic has been present since launch, for the Recoiless only. This paired with it's already existing capabilities made it a sleeper pick amongst the support weapons till it's present buff, furthermore proving it's position at the top of the meta.
You can also cancel the animation by changing stances. I just double tap crouch once the shell is loaded. Depending on your keybinds it may be quicker.
@@Suomiwimbulain my experience standing up usually means I get my head taken off by whatever I'm pointing the recoilless rifle at. Maybe I need to find taller cover
@@_fourtwoseven Nothing can hit you in the 0.2 seconds it takes but might cause a gun tower / tank to shoot your cover and ragdoll you so yeah fair enough, time and place for everything.
I love the new cookout shotgun. the stagger is insane on the cookout to the point where even Alpha Commanders cannot chase you and get pushed out of flamethrower range
erupter getting its shrapnel back is a big deal if you used erupter in the best way for utilizing shrapnel when it first came out. i'd been using it to kill bile spewers and hive commanders in one shot since day 1 by shooting below their center. it is indeed not exactly as strong as it used to be, but i've still been back to one shotting commanders with the shrapnel which was the biggest breakpoint for me with that gun. it feels night and day from when i dropped the game after they gutted it
Liberator concussive is amazing very underrated in my opinion it's main weakness is that armor stops the stun. If you have a teammate next to you it's even better you can stunlock entire hordes with it and really push back the entire enemy line
It also has exceptional durability DMG. It rips off legs and arms. 60 mags will eliminate my only gripe about it since the durability DMG buff. Slow shooting to CC an aggressive group, taking off weak points would require a grenade or reload to finish them. 15 extra rounds is enough to let me sweep 6+ Berserkers or 4 Devastators even with some misplaced shots. The thing is a can opener vs shields and is surprisingly quick for back shotting hulks. Destroying fatal body parts is easier than landing head shots, especially with the CC. The only bad thing anyone could say about it that's credible is that a shotgun works better, but a shotgun can't do work at 80-120 yards.
Exactly, bro. I'm tired of people calling the Liberator Concussive bad because they don't know how to make a loadout that supports the weapon. That's like calling the recoilless rifle bad when you've only ever ran it with the Eruptor. The Concussive allows you to guarantee the survival of sentries, just say "No." to Stalkers and Alpha Commanders, and force enemies to stand in the flames of an incendiary grenade. If you use it like it's just another assault rifle you won't get far, but when you accommodate it correctly it is a sublime weapon. Honestly, I thought it was good BEFORE the 3 times it was buffed.
i think the reason we dont see anybody use the old meta weapons anymore is just a testament that players themselfs didnt want to pick those weapons but only picked them because it was the only viable choice. The plasma punisher was just a more effective crossbow, bigger range, bigger aoe, faster reload and shoot.
I've always been a big arc thrower fan. Just did a bug run with sickle backing it up for close range clearing and shooting into areas where my teammates are, and I got 700 kills that game just solo guarding our flank while the team pushed into objects. I just killed everything that followed us. Unlimited ammo makes you feel like Capt America. "I can do this all day"
At least on the big side: - THE SCORCHER Does everything you need minus close bug holes (obviously) smokes A commanders, wax's bilespewers, and even more effective on BT's, chargers and impalers. Not to mention also now takes out shrieker nests/spore towers (at a very healthy range too) in a mag and a half!!!
Hopped into a game with some friends for the first time in a few months and we knew about all the buffs to everything. We actually sat around and figured out what weapons everybody wanted to try instead of just instantly picking the meta guns. Also got to use a different primary and special weapon every mission and never felt underpowered, so much more fun this way.
Playing on Super Helldive isn’t the only way to have fun. I personally love dropping in on Hard by myself with the MG support weapon and just shredding the hordes of small bugs it throws at you.
Another thing to note, although the Commando no longer one shots Fabricators, the Quasar Cannon can do that now with no need to hit the weak spot (wouldn't be surprised if the EAT-17 can as well). You see Fabricators & you have a Quasar, just point & fire.
People aren’t talking about the arc rifle enough. That has easily become my go to support weapon on both fronts. The stun effect on Hulks and charges has saves my ass far too many times
there was 2 stealth nerfs that went through with the recent hotfix after the buff update, the Heavy Machine gun lost 50% of it's durrable damage, and devistator heads are now light armored, requiring 155 dmg to pop em. Don't know if it was intended that way or done by rougue devs, but i wouldn't jump to conclusions and expect things to be explained or the rest of the Dev team to curb this issue and fix everything up by the end of their 60-day plan.
I was mostly hyped for liberator/assault rifle buffs, and I'm a lil disappointed. Needs more ammo in mags, but I'm still happy with the update. The torcher is my new fav primary! Never looked at it twice before update :)
Liberator concussive is goated. If you say it isn't, you more than likely aren't pairing it up with options that make it super viable. A sixty round mag and a slow fire rate to focus on weak points is amazing, especially when you pair it with something like the shotgun pistol to one shot broods queens. Most of you likely even haven't considered incendiary grenades and pushing an entire army back into the flames basically, that and gas grenades and stratagems. Its awesome
Utility wise, I think the Eruptor is great for people who love using the Machine Guns or the Infinite ammo weapons like the Laser Cannon or Arc Thrower (which is very good now, basically a sniper rifle). The Lib Pen plus RR is the go-to Automaton for me. The most troublesome units were there Devs and Rocket Striders, which the Lib Pen shreds now with easy recoil so plebs like me get by fine with it. Big tip: the RR can one shot a FACTORY STRIDER in the eye, but that doesn’t mean it’s safe to do as those machine guns will shred you.
The thermites alone allowed me to use weapons I just couldn't before, and it still feels like a compromise to something, not just OP I'm happy they focused on fun game play. next they can add the content that will really keep the player base around. and it will stick
The toucher I was really enjoying my time with it , it was a lot of fun, but not very impactful, but NOW O M G PURGE THE XENO IN FLAME 🔥 , it’s so good!
one of the guns i feel like no one is talking about that got buffed is the liberator carbine, having its magazine increase and damage increase, it MOWS DOWN bugs so fast, its great
I think most ARs are pretty fine for bugs, my favorite ARs are Liberator and Tenderizer, before the patch I was basically using the Tenderizer a lot. REMEMBER that scavengers and hunters are a lot easier to kill, and it takes less hits to pop Alpha/Brood Commander's head now too (with the 65% dmg thing). With ARs' overall larger ammo count, you're going to be able to basically clear out A LOT of scavengers and hunters than most other weapons, and leave the bigger bois mostly for the support weapons. Like, let's say compared to the Breaker, Breaker deals more dmg yes but at the end of the day, it can only take out like a maximum of 128 scavengers or hunters, depending on whether you one-shot them or not (cuz sometimes you're gonna hit areas or at longer range where you need 2 shots). And compared to something like Torcher, Torcher's amazing but one big issue, occasional self-dmg from fire, you can negate it by bringing fire-resist armor but you're gonna miss out some other passives from other armors. Right now I do love have 2+ thermite grenades with Engineering kit so yeah. Stuff like Eruptor and Xbow are amazing too, but remember...fighting bugs, they're gonna RUSH you, and once you're swarmed, you're kinda screwed. Blitzer is great but I d like have some range, vs occasional flyer patrols. At the end of the day, it depends on your loadout. I do use my MG206 a lot, and I think pairing a primary with high ammo-count mostly for trash-clearing that's relatively reliable and non-volatile is great. I personally wouldn't take an xbow or eruptor with my MG206, cuz I'm not a big fan of getting jumped at, rendering my primary useless lol, but again, depends on the loadout.
people still shitting on the concussive, its a support weapon in a coop squad game, it's made to push them back, and honestly I'm fucking loving it, there's just something about pushing an entire horde back while my teammates burn them/shoot them to bits that gets me going with sadistic glee
the Constitution rifle is being brought back I'm pretty sure. Just watched leaked gameplay so like you were saying about having a bolt-action rifle in the game besides the Eruptor...
I would like it if they reworked the airburst rocket launcher to instead fire out like a directed flak burst, similar to to the airburst Stratagem, instead of the cluster bomblets. If they gave it a faster reload, it would make it a genuine choice for people to choose the Recoilless or the airburst, as they would have to pick between insane single enemy damage, or basically a shoulder-fired shotgun of death. Or, they should give the original airburst RL a minimum arming distance. Meaning that _if_ you accidentally fire to close to something, the missile can't actually go off until it's reached a certain distance.
I think the problem is the rocket detects the closest enemy and detonates infront of the horde instead in the middle where it would do the most damage. Having it detonate only on impact or maybe when you let go of mouse1 after firing would allow you to detonate it right where it can do most damage instead at the edge of the horde and multiply its impact.
My friend lives in Sweden and his friends list is gray after some random patch. He can't play with friends anymore. We tried literally everything. Please spread this issue
Thanks to this big buff they gave us so many loadout to try and all of them are very viable. Now I really wish we have loadout saving options. As I find myself constantly changing loadouts on different missions.
The thing I would want for the assault rifle class that uses actual bullets would be overpenetratrion of light armor units. I just want round-fed weapons to have some sort of an advantage over its energy counterpart the sickle. Which isnt even that good, but its ability to potentially have infinite ammo if used correctly just has more value to me.
@@sirboomsalot4902 see, that's not my point. Marksman rifles fulfill the automaton niche already even before this buff.. at least one of them was able to one tap devastaors. Regardless, you dont address my point in any meaningful way.
I’m not quite satisfied with AR changes, but it’s step in the right direction. Gun customization and different ammo types would spike my interest with assault rifles. Winner of this patch is crossbow 🏆.
the super shotgun support weapon is currently the redheaded step child of weapons known as the break action shotgun wish they would do something more with it tbh
Maybe make it a medium or heavy AP slug shotgun (think Elephant Gun). Have it where it could take down a Hulk or Charger with three or four well placed shots.
IMO the Lib Concussive is kinda decent with the drum mag. You kill slow, but you are pretty safe when you are doing it. Especially against stalkers or fast bugs like hunters. Viable against bugs but not sure about bots.
I agree that the ballistic shield does get destroyed a lot but mostly that's my own fault by getting hit by a rocket that I could have prevented. I think calling it a wasted strategym slot is a bit much I run it with my scout gameplay which is running on your own to do objectives or grabbing samples. It helps a lot especially when you target the right things and use a significant amount of cover with it. It's not Get out of jail free card its a "Oh shit I'm out of position and I need cover" so you use it to get into cover Also as far as I'm aware with it on I've been surviving more rockets and even Canon turrets when I shouldn't be.
Thank you for the video. Are able already able to rank up the warbonds? With all the changes and the new warbond i am not sure which of them I should buy first.
Democratic is still the best IMO. Thermite now is well worth the price of admission. Eruptor, explosive crossbow, grenade pistol, adjudicator AR are all fantastic. The armor is very nice looking as well! Aside from this I would then go for cutting edge as the arc 12 blitzer is incredible on bugs as well as the laser weapons and stun grenades!
The Machine Gun is still a wrecking machine IMO. It is the best out of the three machine gun stratagems in terms of clearing out swarms. Stalwart is good for clearing trash but it just tickles armored enemies. The Machine Gun chews through everything that isn’t a heavy armor enemy. It is a powerful weapon. But the stationary reload is what hurts it. You have to be very strategic in how you use it. Personally, it’s one of my favorite for terminids as I run it 50% of the time. The heavy machine gun is poweful but its accuracy sucks, the reload sucks, and the ammo count sucks. It’s too much downsides vs upside that I would rather use the Stalwart or Machine Gun over the HMG any day.
I wished the eraptor was a special weapon with a bit more rate of fire. Think that would be cool. Counter Sniper just way to good to try to slot something else for bots.
Agreed, Ballistic shield shouldn't be destroyable. Also I can't believe the heavy machine gun was stealth nerfed... they cut it's durable damage in half. Great patch, but we should never have stealth nerfs. Either list the nerf or don't put it in the update.
How is it stealth nerfed when they drop all of the heavies' armor to its level, which makes it hit weak points 75% harder? It isn't is the answer. Full rate of fire it into a charger's belly after you bait it to rear up. It will take out a Hulk in close range in less than 1.5 sec. It can still be fired slowly in a crouch to down gun ships. It still eviscerates anything's head and limbs that isn't a heavy. They made literally everything but chaff enemies easier to tear apart.
Do you all think this game needs aim assist on console? I feel like that alone would make many more weapons feel better on a controller but i’m not sure.
Not worth it. The blitzer is awful. Get shot up trying to get close enough to clankers and for the terminids most of your shots get eaten by dead bodies or rocks
You're nuts. It's the best handling and highest DMG vs light armor without pen, and pretty much close enough to be tied with anything else on max fire rate and tied for lowest recoil. You need to aim for legs, rocket pods, hips, backpacks, and arms more.
@@kheyonsmith1497 Having high pen and high damage is boring, it would make all the other rifles basically useless, plus not really how bullets work. You can either have a hard core for penetration or have a metal that flays out / splinters and causes "flesh damage"
All the ARs are still ass... sadly... even with the dmg buffs they all need to be 50-60 rds to be viable. Wouldn't be overpowered just usable. Disappointing tbh.
