I do the same thing as well! It takes me a LONG time to transfer all of my notes over. To me, it is worth the time and effort b/c I do want to not lose any of the blessings of the revelations. I always date when I write my notes/thoughts in my bible and it is always so awesome to reflect back (where I was in my life) when I am in that scripture again. Often times the Holy Spirit reveals something different each tine we study the scriptures depending on our current circumstances. I hope that makes sense.
You can rewrite your old notes into a notebook or on postcards that you carry with you. It will leave your new bible open for new revelation or conviction. Love the cover!!
Hi. Your channel came across my feed of suggested videos today. I too needed a Bible with larger font and I ordered the same Bible from Amazon just days ago. I got the brown leather cover. NASB is my preferred translation and I love the one column layout and space for taking notes in the margin. I would prefer a wider blank area but I’m still happy with this Bible. I like that each verse begins on a new line too. I didn’t get a carry case but I plan to sew a cover and I will add inside pockets and a way to hold a pen.
Hi Tam!! I'm a bit late welcoming you back to RU-vid, because guess what, I had a baby! He's four months old and my life is completely made new. Challenging but so wonderful. It's a pleasure to hear from you again. God bless.
Hey Sonya!!!! What great news!!!! I am so happy for you and to God be the glory. I know that you will find your groove and things will not be so challenging. I am sure you are doing a great job as a mom! :)
I so understand how you feel about “starting over” with your new Bibles and missing the old notes…Sometimes I’ll transfer major notes that I want to always have with me in my new Bible. I’ll also occasionally reference my old Bible with my notes during my study time because God really reminds me of old things that I totally forgot about and they become new again. The Word is so alive and active! Blessings ❤
I love this Bible! It has one of the thickest pages on the market just like a premium bible would. And not to mention the extra note papers in the back. Such a great choice ❤
I have re-written the notes from my old Bible into my new Bible. Probably a little OCD....LOL, but that's what I've done. Thanks for sharing this, blessings!
Holman Christian Standard Bible updated to Christian Standard Bible. Still published by Holman. My newest Bible is a Christian Standard Bible Woman's Study Bible. You should be able to get a CSB in large print.
I've had to change Bibles. It is amazing to look back on highlights and notes from the past. The notes and highlights are different in the new Bible. It shows growth in my walk and understanding. The new Bible was daunting to me at first. Took time to adjust .
Regarding notes from old Bible, I would suggest transferring those notes to a looseleaf binder or a Happy Planner type journal and dividing them into sections of the books of the Bible. Using a looseleaf binder or Happy Planner type will allow you to add to or move your notes around. I wouldn't transfer to your new Bible because God will give you new revelations for that Bible and also we see new things in scripture as we grow older or have new experiences. God's word truly is a living thing that speaks different things to us at different times. But as for those old notes, having them in a binder set up will be a great study resource to you as you study God's word. :)
Very good suggestion Kathy! I have plenty of notebooks, too that I could use to transfer my bible notes. I will definitely keep this suggestion in the forefront. Thank you!! :)
I love this channel. You inspired me to start a channel for bible beginners. I have been saved and baptized years ago. I decided I want to read the entire bible. I told my dad & step mom which bible i want. They gave it to me yesterday 9/17/23 on my birthday. I looked on youtube for bible beginners. Your video has been so helpful especially since I am on a budget to. I bought myself with my birthday money they gave me no bleed pens and sticky note highlighters & new highlighters. I haven't set up my bible yet. So I think that would be a great first video to film. I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos. May God bless you! ❤
Yes,, and I agree! Ephesians 5:19 NASB - speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord;
I would make a separate journal / notebook / binder of your old notes from the old bible with a notation of what bible it came out of and / or when you made that note. You may find that since you are having trouble reading the older bible's font you may have trouble reading your older notes as well. By writing or typing out the notes you have and placing them separate from the old bible you can look back and see how much God has shown you and how much you have grown in understanding what the Bible is telling you throughout the years. I use a happy planner for my old notes. It allows me more space than just in the margins and I can add note pages whenever I need to if I come across something new in the scripture, I do a verse map of a verse in the chapter, I do a word study on something I feel God is pointing out to me to study, our church study group begins to study that book in depth or if our preacher does a sermon that helps me understand something that was puzzling me in that section of scripture. Having a set space for my notes that gives me room to expand was huge in my journey to understand the bible. I just make a notation in my current bible's margin that I have more notes on the section in my binder (example: ch 12 : notes binder 3, p. 45 - 50). The binder then becomes a resource that I consult after I have read and jotted out any current notes that stood out to me. I can then look back and say oh that is new or that was something I also noted on this date.
I bought a large print Bible and I had to send it back for a giant print, but I can sure see it lol. I love how you explain things that I can understand.
Hi Blessedcurls! I have loved this translation so far. I accompany it with a NASB study bible to elaborate on things that I need to further understand. It's been amazing. God bless! ☺
Hi Tam! I just found your channel and I love that bible cover! Glad you found the Amazon link. It is so pretty. It is also exciting to start a new bible to journal in.
It is always nice seeing a well loved bible. I also had to go to the large print bible. Much easier to read. Good demonstration of your love of the word of God.
I totally feel you about needing a larger font! It makes reading Gods word more enjoyable to be able to see it better! ☺️ Something else I’ve found very helpful are transparent sticky notes. I do write in the margin, but if I need more room, they work great. (they work better then typical post it’s) I got mine on Amazon. God bless you! Enjoy your new Bible!! You do need a oil based pen or ball point pen vs a gel pen. Sometimes the oil based pen comes with.
Hi Gina! thank you so much! Yes, the bigger font has been fabulous!! I love it! I do have some of those transparent sticky notes. I have not thought to use them in my new Bible though. Thanks for the idea! :) God bless you and have an awesome Thanksgiving!
Hi Debbie! Me, too! Lol. I remember having to buy a large font bible for my God-mother a long time ago. I guess it's my turn now and having writing space in my studying bible is a must-have. :)
Crew and Co based out of Byhalia, MS can rebind your new and old bible, with a leather cover. I am hoping to use them, when my current cover wears out.
I love how you shared about your preference for more traditional hymns. Would you consider making a video series about them? I’ve only recently started to learn about the concerns regarding contemporary gospel music, and I don’t have much exposure to older gospel music. I can say that I don’t love going to church and hearing contemporary songs that I can listen to on the radio. I wish there was a way to easily find churches that exclusively sing the older hymns.
Thanks for the suggestion re: hymns. I'll consider it. I am so eclectic when it comes to gospel music but certainly not onboard with a lot of music that's being released nowadays. Thanks for watching.
Glad you chose NASB. The translation is much closer to the original. FYI - reading anything on a phone is painful. I read on my iPad, which is much closer to book-size.
I also prefer one for All Bible because I know the pages and in Talk or Questions I know where to open and read 😂 If I have to read in a strangers Bible, I never find what I'm looking for as fast as I am in my own Bible. Same thing if I need to buy a New one for Reasons and need to get close to this Bible again 😢😢
I like your new Bible, I also needed bigger text so I just downloaded it and can enlarge the test. I have notebooks for extra writing I will be doing. The case is very cute, you could always add pink tassels.
Hi Cheryl. I was thinking about getting a NASB study bible; but haven't found a good one, yet. The study bible I currently use is and NIV version by Zondervan. It's really good.
I enjoyed your video. My eyes are starting to change as well and it is hard to see some of the small fonts. Oh, music is how God encourages me as well. Do you like CeCe Winans? She my fave gospel artist. Her songs touch my heart. I mostly listen to old music though. Totally an 80s girl. NASB is a good translation. It’s the most word for word you can get. I used that back in the days when I did Precepts. Thank you for sharing!
Hi RJL! I do like CeCe Winans! I haven't listened to her in a while though. My favorite song was "Mercy Said No". I love that song! Thanks for watching.
Hi I love reading my Bible and taking notes as well I have a world bible school study edition journaling bible can I write in it or do I have too use a regular notebook
Right here with you on that PKAH! The larger print is certainly very, very helpful to me. I have no problems seeing or reading now! Thanks for watching.
Holman Christian is now the CSB. All these new modern bibles have scripture verses missing. Look up Matthew 17:21 see if your Bible has this verse? I use the KJV, NKJV, and Amplified these are not missing any verses.
Hi Melissa! Thanks for sharing. My NASB does have Matthew 17:21. I have heard people say some bibles are missing scriptures. I have not personally encountered that though. Thanks again.
Hi Majora! My old bible was an HCSB (Holman Christian Standard Bible); which was discontinued in 2020. My new one is NASB (New American Standard Bible). I hope this helps. TTYL!
Hi great video, I have the She Reads Truth Bible CSB version from Holman, so it’s not accurate and missing verses? I’m just wondering …I also have The Woman’s Study Bible NIV version. These are brand new bc I couldn’t make up my mind. I’m so confused…
Hi! I heard the HCSB was misinterpreting some of the scriptures and that was why they stopped printing that version. I believe it was replaced with the CSB version. I don't have a CSB version, so I'm not sure how it compares to the old HCSB. Looks like you are already on the right path by having several different versions on hand. I study from several versions and always keep a study bible and commentary close by. If you are ever confused or need an interpretation of something in the scripture, and you are a member of a church, I'm sure your pastor or a church elder will be open to assisting with any additional interpretations. Please feel free to reach out if I can help at all! If I don't know, I will search to find the answer to any questions that you have. God bless!
Yes, we know what you mean by old school. Hymns, trios, quartets, special music solos etc. I personally would not care for all contemporary music. It doesn’t touch my soul like the hymns do. They did away with the Holman Christian Standard and now the name is “ Christian Standard”. I guess they changed what was bothering some people and renamed the Bible.
