As soon as I've saw the Blob Fusion I checked it out and bought it just now. Really enjoying it so far, speeds up the base mesh creation massively, worth every penny.

Its getting really funny how people make addons to bring functionalities back, it says something about users not being happy with it, because honestly, nobody really asked for these changes. And unfortunately I see a trend of most companies which do this, Adobe, Autodesk, etc. Im honestly getting tired of installing addons to bring things back, not just because I cant get used to it, but because it feels literally like more steps are needed (and thus time) to do these steps. Same for modifier menu.

I feel like its the beauty of that software. You don't have to wait years for the dev to answer your needs to make a tool or fix a functionnality. Big problem with C4D or other softs. Here with blender if you need something there is a big chance that someone already made it or if you're courageous enough make it on your own and share it with the community. Even tho there is a lot of addon, I'm only using 4 or 5 and simply activate the one I need occasionaly when I need it. Anyway, I've played a lot with 3Dsmax, Maya, C4D, modo... Nothing can beat Blender for the quick feedback, the community that is wonderful and how it evolves :) All hail Blender ;)

@@petaralazara Yes ofcourse, understandable, I like the flexibility blender offers too. Altough, Im doing blender since 2012, its very time and nerve consuming to adapt to unnecessary changes after such a long time, especailly with deadlines. There was really no reason for modifier menu and smooth shading changes, Im only questioning it because it gets in the way of work, obviously, addons and automations break etc. People run companies around blender and such changes can really make a difference in a negative way the same as a positive one. Don't get me wrong, I think blender is still awesome, it's just too cluttery at some places, (the collections arent real folders, the files cant have the same name in different collections, why so different from usual folder structure or any other 3d software?) Linking and appending is a mess too, and I cant warn enough about using it in actual job (it pulls out old information from several .blend files back and can append objects which arent existing anymore in the original file), I wasted weeks trying to fix it, and still only hacky workarounds at the cost of stability, I lost projects with this. Its hard to maintain a proper workflow, since so many changes to core functionalities are disrupting it. There are really big issues nobody is talking about, which is the opposite of "feedback response", its all just fixing dents, and patching patches. And what about paid addons constantly breaking when core changes are made? Not all get updates too. Its very counter productive and uncertain. I think Geo Nodes addition was the only necessary thing, it made blender nondestructive. A total game changer, an absolute unit of a feature. I understand that they cant make everyone happy, and Im greatful to Ton and his devs for Blender and for so many years of awesomeness, but it now feels like a precious thing is being destroyed every day and it hurts watching it sink while there is an unwritten rule to not touch a running system. Its just a typical pattern for red flags with every software company out there. Similar to a game patch which makes the game actually so different from the original, it starts to feel like a different game (Im looking at you Blizzard) (Wow, OW1, etc. Oh look, a pattern). Well, everyone is free to come and go as they please :)

Check out yt channel 'Artisans of Vaul'. He does a lot of blender stuff relating to 3d printing.

Blender is good but render time meh. Cycle is too slow nowadays..

What gpu are you using? Do you optimise your meshes and textures? Do you use K-Cycles?

tbh Cycles is a game changer and its fast enough. You might check how to optimise your scene as richard is saying ^^
