Is this essentially just a speaker without the subscription?

There are still a lot of features that work without the subscription. You can view the full list on their website, but it still functions as a speaker, rangefinder and more without the subscription.

I finally got to try my speaker out on the course and even though the sound only comes out on the right side, it still sounds pretty good. The magnet on the speaker feels solid on the cart. I still would be careful driving with it. You can see the screen display clearly. My only issue is when you're going to the next hole while also putting in your score. It automatically skips to that next hole. If you dont catch it, you've put your previous hole score on the next hole. That parts frustrating. Other than that. Im very satisfied with my speaker. You can also use it as an everyday speaker. Thats how good it sounds

That is great feedback! I noticed the same thing when entering my score. I check the hole number before entering my score. I can appreciate the device trying to advance to the next hole for me, but if you’re playing a round it should prompt you for the score when it’s in a certain proximity to the green and then once you’ve entered your score automatically switch to the next hole. Mine seemed to only play music from one side of that mesh material. Was that how yours was as well?

Did you reach out to blue tees support? I have the same issue with my speaker and when I contacted support, they told me there was a design change and both speaker drivers are on the right side. That doesn’t seem right as they advertise 360° sound and even the RU-vid videos that were posted on their own channel 2 weeks ago mention that there are speakers on both sides.

Reached out and this is what they said… In the course of developing the Player+ Speaker, we made several intentional design choices to enhance the outdoor sound experience. Instead of having speaker drivers on both sides, we decided to double stack two large drivers on the right side of the speaker. Additionally, we added an extra passive radiator on the left side, beneath the buttons. This configuration, combined with the subs on the top and bottom of the speaker, results in a richer and more powerful outdoor sound experience, delivering deeper bass and higher audio quality, whether you're on the move or riding in the golf cart. Our primary focus with the Player+ Speaker is to provide an exceptional outdoor audio experience, given its intended use on the golf course. We've optimized the design to ensure it delivers the best sound quality for those outdoor settings. The 360-degree audio experience of the Player+ is branding around the combination of two potent drivers and three deep bass passive radiators. This setup disperses sound and bass in multiple directions, ensuring a comprehensive audio experience no matter where you're positioned relative to the speaker. ⁠@@mariorobles668I got the same, what must be automated response, because every word is the same. But as I stated in my comment, the RU-vid videos from their own company that were recently posted mention speaker drivers on both sides. Also, @BogeyKingGolf initially responded to the first comment that he had sound coming out of both sides of the speaker. Although I do not see that comment anymore. I like the speaker, I just want to know if mine is defective or not.

Hey everyone! After some additional use and different locations on my cart I can confirm I am too experiencing the same thing with sound primarily coming from the right side. I reached out to Blue Tees and received the same response you did. I would like their website and statements to be a little clearer on the subject, but I can't say it's a showstopper issue for me. I just released my on course review and addressed a few other items I've experienced. I do appreciate how quick Blue Tees was in their response to me. They even offered to jump on a call and talk through it if I still needed additional help. I appreciate all the feedback, comments and information. Keep it coming!

I don’t know for sure, but I think it should. I realized I could control the audio on my phone without a speaker connected so I assume that means it could control the audio via Bluetooth for any connected device.

I believe it is set when you connect your device to your phone. Once I connected the speaker to my phone the time and date were set automatically. I would make sure you have the Blue Tees Game app installed and that your device is connected.

Android user here. I was really hoping this would be everything it was supposed to be. I was very disappointed. Worked at my house for initial set up. Took it to the course and it never came on. Pushed buttons, etc got nothing. App gave info on my phone but for $200 I expected better. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'm sending it back. Good luck. I really wanted this to be the Gadget. Could even get it to play music on the course. And yes, it was connected on the app and Bluetooth.

No, there a lot of the functions work fine without the subscription. It does give you a lot of additional information if you sign up for it. You get the first year free if you purchase now so you can test it out and see if the additional features are worth it.

Do you mean when controlling music? I haven’t tried that yet, but could the next time I’m using it. You can control the music if you also have the Ringer GPS device. If you meant another way let me know and I’ll try my best to answer.

Mine was set once I connected it to my phone. I would check to make sure the Blue Tees Game App is installed and that your device is connected. You can access device settings from the app, but I believe time/date coming from the connection with the phone.

its weird i had to turn it off and on like 3 time over like a hour period after i connected...its finally showing correct date and time
