This song was written by Martha Sharp. It is a litany of complaints followed by masochistic acceptance. Helen Reddy understandably found the song "dreadful" and its lyrics "hardly empowering." She was inspired to write her anthem-like "I Am Woman" from this song because she wanted a song that would speak to the female experience and see a way forward to improvement.

The antithesis of 'You Don't Own Me'. Nice tune and production, but I don't agree with the sentiment. Melody is a rewrite of 'Single Girl', as is 'I Take It Back', another Posey hit.
