I can't believe I missed the commentary on Mario's backside. I feel betrayed, but only by myself.

Bowser’s Fury is a weird mix. The point of „removing the goo off stuff with shines” is straight up from Mario Sunshine, graphics are from Mario 3D World, the plot is kinda like Paper Mario Color Splash (with Bowser being infected by black goo and becoming even more evil), if you get hurt as Giga Cat Mario you transform into Giga Mario from Super Mario 64 DS, there are gameplay elements from Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 but the overall gameplay is from Super Mario Odyssey... and Bowser looks like Ganon from Breath Of The Wild.
