out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. I am guessing someone else is going to join the bankruptcy list. Ahem... uh... Brownells!
@@nitroxylictv I don't think selling your products is a sign of going bankrupt. I'm not an Austrian economist but I'm pretty sure if you're selling enough to constantly be out of stock, you're doing pretty well.
They’re not ‘constantly’ out of stock, they just stopped offering them as complete rifles but give you the option to buy them as parts and build them yourself.
Watching this in 2022 is nostalgic. My first retro AR was a Colt SP1, so when this series was launched by brownells I ordered the BRN-10 B and got serial number 00048. Eventually I sold the SP1 and purchased 2 proto 5.56 receiver kits to build my own custom rifles. The first has a 16.5” mid length barrel from CMMG for modern 5.56 ammo and the other is supposed to be a 607 clone chambered in .300 blackout, basically a 1/2 scale carbine clone of my BRN-10.
Awesome. I was issued an M16A1 by the USMC from 1983-1985 and then an A2 from 1985-1987. These retro rifles appeal to me more than the newer rifles capable of carrying all the optics and stuff. 4th award expert with iron sights, yay! :D
All I want is the 16A1 and the carbine, both with binary triggers installed. If I can save up enough to buy them one day that would be a dream come true. Both are extremely nice rifles and look exactly like the originals.
@@Nobody-xh5qe you probably got the... uh... last one in stock, because you know, out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock. out of stock....
So I've been looking at them for a while and I got to finally experience one and hot dam Totally worth the money and if you want a Good replica these are some of the cheapest out there colt is mentally disabled they want like 2500-2700 a gun brownells has them for 1000
That XM16E1 clone is so awesome looking. So iconic yet simplistic in this earlier form and without a doubt THE most controversial M16 model in history. Until mid-late 1968 the XM16A1 was the predominant model and the one you see in all the photos from the most famous battles like the ones from the Battle of Khe Sahn and the Battle of la Drang, to the Tet offensive as well as the Battle of Hue. You even see it in photos from the final troop withdrawal in March 1970. That three prong flash hider and partial fence is so easy to spot in all the old photos. Will keep that XBRNM16E1 model in mind.
@ 6:20 the receiver extension (buffer tube) doesn't have the correct lock ring (nut) for that time period. That lock ring (nut) is the newer castle nut. The original lock ring (nut) had two 1/8" holes at 180° from each centered on the lock ring. Yeah I know it's nitpicking.
Ya did an awesome job on coming out with these Brownells, even making a waffle mag too! btw, what are the odds of just a complete A1 upper (minus the bolt assembly) being sold? I'd be interested!
The new production parts of these for more modern builds will be huge. Its been tough to get A1 butt stocks and at affordable prices for example. I want to put an A1 (shorter than the A2) stock on my M4. I don't like the adjustable stocks.
Out of all thousands of M16A1s I saw when I was in the army there were only a couple of them that had that M16 style stock. All the rest had the modern trap-door style M16A1 stock. That old M16 stock is wrong, and not representative of over 99.9% of all M16A1s. I bought a Brownells XBRN177E2 upper and the barrel was longer than it needed to be, well over 16" long. I decided that it was 1/2" too long, and since it's not correct anyway, just got done chopping off the end of the barrel with a hacksaw. After grinding, filing, and sanding it down, it's now 16 1/8" long and has a 6-prong flash hider. It's still not right, but it's shorter and should look okay once I cold blue it and put the rifle back together with my Dead Foot Arms Modified Cycle System (MCS) with GEN 2 Folding Adaptor so I can fire it while the stock is folded.
Beautiful rifles I got to shoot one of them last Monday it was VERY GOOD hoping you have ALL of them in Dallas in May. If I buy ALL four can I get one of those green shirts ?? Thank you.
Would love to have the XM177 with the 16" barrel and colt style slip over flash hider. My first AR was a colt setup that way. My first issue M16a1 was a normal a1, but I did have one that was issued to me with the SP1 style lower with captive pin and A1 upper.
Though I know it would not be period correct I've always been fond of the Vietnam era furniture however the colt I bought has a 16" barrel and would like to know if the handgaurd and stock could still be applied to a shorter barrel retained by an added forward sight portion.
I did the math in my head and looks like you could build one of these buy buying all the parts from brownells for around $900, Maybe a little less. I built a m16a1 replica in 2012 about a month before I graduated high school for about $700 using all dpms parts besides the stock set and forward assist which were original Vietnam era parts.
Pretty darn cool. Brownell did a excellent job with these. Was wondering if we get one of these ,are we stuck with the 20 round mags or are 30 rounders available for these?
They went from $900 to assemble your own, now they're $1300 assembled? This markets toward the same rich guys that drove up the price on classic cars during the 90s
i wished i had the coinage. i absolutely love the old ones vs the new. i have 2 18 gun cabinets over full of guns but have yet to buy an AR. i wanted to hold off until i found something like these. now im broke and on disability and will probably never be able to afford one. i really wanted a reproduction and now ive found one........ my luck. bummer.
To me the whole point of doing this is to have something more affordable than a colt sp1 but when the price is the same if not more than a colt sp1 why would you spend that kind of money? I'd rather have an sp1 anyway just really didn't feel like spending that kind of money which sucks because I got so excited when I heard that someone was making a retro ar and then I heard it was brownells and I knew right away it wasn't going to be cheap and I was unfortunately right but I wasn't expecting that kind of price thats just dumb hell I saw a really nice sp1 a couple of months ago for 850 I'd rather pay close to that than over 1,100 for a copy now I was super impressed with the ar10 love it looks great thought to myself yep thats the next rifle I'm getting for sure but then I saw the price NOTE: THESE RIFLES ARE NOT MADE FROM FUCKING UNOBTAINIUM its aluminum and plastic some of the cheapest materials in the world and there is absolutely no shortage of ar's or ar parts either so can someone please explain to me why in gods great fuck are these rifles so expensive because I don't get it
Didn't early army marine m16s look different with no forwrd assist and non chrome bolts which gave them a bad name. Basically black furniture airforce model.
