Tire tests are a great idea and keeping everything consistent (truck, inserts, weather conditions, terrain, etc) makes the comparisons more relateable. I would also like to see more videos of you in the shop wrenching on your trucks and doing mods. Also, at the start of your drive videos (like this one) maybe give us a body off look so, we can check out your rig and layout more thoroughly 👍

Nice test mule. 😎 I love the idea of bracketed tire tests. Maybe monthly? Love my Tusks/Squidserts on my 5.5 pound rig. They hook up really well on the central Texas rocks.

Awesome build. Love the tire test idea. If you do a 12 tire bracket, I suggest double elimination. Due to what you were saying about temp and moisture.

That’s an awesome build. I have been running the tusks for a while now and have them on all my trucks at the moment but I have been wanting to run a PL km3 or maybe a PL trencher both in g8.

I’ve ran multiple sets of tusks from brand new to bald, i absolutely love them, there about as good as ruptures but just quite not there because the lug spacing, but the more they scrub in I promise they’ll start absolutely ripping

Rc4wd tires like the wranglers M/T’s for sure. I’ve had good luck with those

You should do a bracket style tire test. Head to head, winner faces the winner of the next head to head. The hard part is foams, do you run all the same or optimize for each tire?

Looking forward to tire tests. Make sure to run equally scrubbed in tires to keep things equal. New tires vs well scrubbed wouldn’t be a fair comparison.

After all the comparisons I’ve done, Proline TSL Swampers XL in G8 with 109 Squid inserts is my favorite combo.

I think using a super box stock’ish RTR truck to do testing would show tires performance more so then testing using a custom build

Hey that second to last one people don't realize how hard that is when your rear tires are below a ledge and then you're trying to climb a Ledge in front of you that's a very hard pull up

Same here. I watch you the most when i am wanting to learn crawling skill because you inform us of what and why you are doing when picking a strategy in a situation. Tou do a good job explaining. I like when you doing testing products as well. I never see desert conditions but i can apply many of your techniques. You would still smoke me on a coarse 😂

Cheaper brands are coming out with very good tires like Injora I’m wondering how the cheaper brands do against the more expensive ones.

Don't forget your controller ! I've done it too 😂 the fix is Drive it Into your car ! Something I started doing that really pays off , it also means the truck works and you got everything you need when you arrive

The pitbull rock beasts are pretty darn good to really test tires if you put them on a less capable truck like a tf2 you can really see a huge difference

Not to support knock off copies... but I got a set of Jconcepts Ruptures off Ali Express. Side by side to the actual Jconcept version they looked absolutely identical. However the inner bead webbing was different (much more details and design on the actual Jconcepts tire). But out on the rocks the fake tire was total garbage. Almost zero traction. Showing the compound makes a huge difference over tread design. Could be interesting tests to match knockoffs with real deals and establish compound differences over tread design. Just an idea. Keep up the great work!

Man amazing build so nice and low but with nice clearance. Dude headache rack is freaking killer move!!! Word on jconcepts not keeping up with demand!! Does it not have bands? Jconepts out of the bag are insane…on dry clean rocks my ruptures are just sick….that sandy stone must be so hard.

Test some Traxxas Canyon Trails please. They will need to be cut or "modded" first. Would LOVE to have these in the bracket.

Love my tusk i run 4.19 , 4.75 and cut and shut 5.2 tusk generaly i wash them from new like all new tyres get rid of the sticky had to laugh when you went strait into the sand and they stills pulled amasing lines

I love the tusks and landmines currently for my location love the crawlers for my trail truck and has trenchers before and did okay has one comp on a rainy day they did better then most other competitors but the green compound has worked for 2023 season

I’ve noticed tire stock on multiple sites very low not sure what’s going on but it’s annoying when you have the $ but you can’t get your first choice.

Tusk need to break in before they work really well I have 3 sets and the more scrub in set work so good but they are stretch on 2.2 shift wheels with wide CI foams soft n med n just all works so well together

I think a challenge inside brands to find the top tire and then take those top tires of each brand and have a challenge.

Could the weight of the crawler make a difference in performance???. ... Just a thought...

That’s an awesome rig you built. I like the idea of the head to head testing. It’ll be interesting to see if the results are most affected by tire compound vs tread pattern, and how the same tires respond in the various weather and rock conditions. Are you planning to break the tires in a bit before testing, or just go for it straight out of the package?

Washing the tires with hand soap removes a lot of that "tackyness".

J concepts don't work in wet or muddy but in your area they probably work great.

Like I said I don't know if that's a brushed motor or what but everything seems so tight like it ain't moving nice and fluid far as the power plant anyway

Ambient temperature, weather conditions, and rock surface temperature need to be recorded as part of the test procedure. Voodoo tires KLR, KLR v2, KLR MT/x, Injora S4 pins, Duratrax Fossils, G Made 1904s, etc…
