it usually means that they want the camera to do everything for them. They want to do the least work as possible

The more I think about being upset the R5C is missing the IBIS on my R5, the more I remember how annoying the R5 IBIS really is. The wobble is unpredictable on mine. The part that really gets me is that Canon doesn't let me turn the wobbly IBIS off without ALSO preventing me from using the digital IS or the lens OIS. So I have to choose between unpredictably wobbly IBIS/IS/OIS or no type of stabilization whatsoever. Which honestly, makes me really wonder if the LACKING OF IBIS on the R5C is ACTUALLY an upgraded feature! LOL

I use a Ninja V and record 4K HQ to ProRes so overheating isn’t a problem for me.

This is my perfect solution for weddings. I was struggling with the r6 and I didn’t want to spend money on the smaller sensor c70. The footage looks much more natural handheld.

LOVE a real world review instead of just talking about specs or shooting boring things none of us use these cameras for. Few questions since you've ACTUALLY used it. 1) Can you speed up the 8 second delay switching between photo/video by turning off the sensor cleaning? 2) How long does it take to power on? 8 Seconds too? 3) What was your experience with battery life -- I heard others say about 45 mins on LPe6, which is terrible from what we are used to. Same for you? Thanks so much, best real life review I've seen so far.

Interesting battle. Sony adds breathing compensation and tracking to fx6 A7iv, to say you don’t need cine lenses, canon adds fan & removes ibis for cine lenses. Canon adds pro monitoring, Sony full hdmi for monitoring.

HOW REFRESHING! To actually see a proper shoot using it. This could finally be the camera that makes me upgrade from the 1DX mk2 as a hybrid shooter. Only concern would be the weather sealing, but in reality I don't usually shoot in the rain!

C300iii and 1dxii owner here. Considering it as a replacement to my 1dx but concerned that it’s autofocus is more in line with the C300iii, which I wouldn’t trust as my gimbal cam. The Canon DSLRs have great video autofocus typically…but this is using a different focus system for video. That’s what has me concerned. Any insight?

Why would you switch to this one from fx3, just curious? I think Sony makes fantastic cams. Impressive DR, great AF, easy files to work with, don’t overheat, what more can you ask for. I use Canon myself and sometimes I envy Sony shooters. I’m heavily invested in canon glass and it takes time to learn lenses thoroughly.

Shooting in 8K, then downsampling to 4K will give you better image quality than shooting in 4K, even if you view on 4K monitor.

All "sounds" good. Just really wish they would stop selling products that can't function fully. R5 = 8k (but only for 12min before the camera melts). R5C = 8K without overheating (except we can't actually power it, you need to find a solution for that).

No, you can't. You can shoot 6K (5952x3140) cropped, which is the closest to 4K.

I’d go directly to this one if you can, c70 is great too don’t get me wrong, but if I had the chance to choose between a full frame n crop for me it’s full frame always 🤟😊 also this one is great for this n shoots raw

Did you really find the autofocus better than the R5? The R5 has Autofocus V2, while the C70 and R5C only have the Autofocus V1… I find it hard to believe… Sick video though 🙌

I’m actually glad there’s no IBIS, don’t get me wrong, not hating it but after using it on my R5 for the past year -ish gotta say have had to get rid of it cuz of the occasional wobble
