My mom modified one and raced it back in her day. Funny thing is if I even go 5 over she gets upset but she was doing full blown illegal street races with her dad and other random dudes lol
I was the same way as her booking it and pushing the limits of my car on the track and driving aggressively on the street (no cutting people off and cutting traffic or anything). That changed when I started teaching my little brother to drive and helping him learn to work on his own car. I realized I needed to be a better influence on him so that he could live a long healthy life without the risks that come with driving like an idiot. I imagine it’s the sense of love and care you have for someone like a family member that you want them to be safe and okay that pulls people out of that lifestyle, at least when they’re around anyway
You know it's funny I've never seen a post that I relate to more.... My mom would go to the huge street races we have here near Seattle Washington there would be 500 to 1000 cars every Friday and Saturday night She used to race her brand new 99 Civic SI that had full bolt-ons and was tuned She used to take me to the races until I was old enough to drive at 16!!!!? She would race anything and everything that challenged her didn't matter if she knew she could keep up with it or not...... And then obviously once I got my license at 16 I got my first Honda and started building it and I've had nineteen of them so far and I'm now thirty years old.... But if I ever decide to go fast with her in the car now she freaks out but yet she was hauling ass racin anything and everything back when we were teenagers me and my friends were riding with her😂😂 She's not into it as much as she used to be but she's got a 2012 Civic SI that she's kept stock since she bought it brand new and just a couple months ago decided she wanted to do cold air intake and header and full exhaust. She'll still race once in awhile but nothing like she did back when I was young it was definitely an experience that I'll remember for life and it's what started my love of going to the street races and building cars Just crazy to me that she freaks out was going five or 10 over but yet she used to do 120+ 🤣🤣😭😭
PRE fast in the furious me and buddies had these and would be doing swaps in back yards.. NO engine hoists .. We used ropes going around OAK tree branches, then hook it to riding mower ..and OUT she came.. Fun times. I then moved into newer hatches...
Those old civics are so light! I had an 89 civic lx manual sedan, gold/champagne with factory gold/champagne alloys. Always wanted to build one out, jealous every time I see one!
I bought that exact car even the color from a teacher my senior year of highschool, it was my second one by that point. Ended up selling it 3 years later when i got my 01 GsR Integra(which i still have 16 years later!) Buuuut man I gotta admit, I still think about and miss that ole Rx 😢
Put a B series in it it will be so fast I've had plenty of crx's I have two 88 crx's right now one has a 300 horse turbo motor in it the other one has a 240 horse B16 awesome cars.
I ran a stock CRX HF with 600 pounds of sound equipment at Buffalo Valley drag strip in Tn back around 2004. It was a BLAST. I'd roll up to the line...AND LET THE BASS HIT....
My brother had one he bought off Craigslist with all sorts of crazy mods and the back filled with subwoofers. Such a fun car. We used to call it the CRsex.
That girl is clean!!! I love white Hondas. I had a black 91 CRX back in the day. I totaled it racing, miss it everyday 😕 I was young and stupid, and messed a lot of good things. Now that I’m older I appreciate my stuff a lot more. I wish you well my friend!!
Omg.. I had one of those in highschool....and college...and my first real job. Lol. When I got rid of it , it had 427k miles on it. I wish I had it now. I loved this car.
My older cousin had a CRX Si when I was in high school. When my cousin and my older brother would go out together, sometimes I got to tag along and sit on the storage in the back with no seatbelt on because it wasn't a seat. I still had so much fun squeezed in the back.
I still own a 94 prelude lol. Getting expensive now but still I LOVE it so much. It drives so smoothly, so direct and rough! Windows, roof, mirrors, all original electric. Almost 30 years old now and still function beautifully 🎉
I learned how to drive manual/stick with the Crx. My dad had me park on a steep hill, facing hill-up, I had to balance the car using just the clutch pedal. Because of that, I was never nervous about stopping on the hill in traffic. 🏎️🤙🏾
Still love my eg, although I have Evo9 and a FK8 but the double wishbone are so much fun to drive with, specifically in the rain. And I wish I can say "I finally brought a car that's older than me" 😂
I've got the EF Hatch version of your car, complete with the A6 motor! You go, girl! There isn't a day that goes by, that I am not SUPER thankful that I have this car.
My brother has a 89 HF he Si swapped the motor, has a blast dailying it for the last 5 years, He bought it non running for 375 bucks, replaced a fuse, Sent that motor to heaven Then swapped in the Si motor he had watiting for him once he blew his original motor, been reliable since but damn parts are hard to find and taxed
I had a 1.6 CRZ 1991 model I bought it in 1998 with 88k miles sold in 2009 with 172000, this car had been SO reliable and most importantly the MPG was unbelievable....as long as you do services and try to change the oil and filter twice a year it will go on and on plus the VTECH kicks in sweeter...
Omfg this is my dream car, my mom bought me a junk one when i was 14 and it broke down and we scrapped it, she passed away in 2019, ive always said i will find another one. I believe mine was an 87, hope you have fun with it and love it! Earned a sub.
Funny thing someone was selling one for 1700 on Craigslist in good condition. Idk if I should of bought to sell for more this was about 8 months ago. Was clean and saw you could do alot of mods to it
Very nice. I had a 89 civic Si hatchback 1.6 single cam very fun car to drive I also had a 91 civic hatchback the third is the charm I will keep the last one
