Well I went out and bought one of these on a whim largely because of your demo, got a good price on a used one. Not disappointed at all. Sounds great with no pedals at all and sounds equally amazing with my Hughes & Kettner Tube Factor
Rodney, you are a fantastic guitar player. I came for the Carr sounds but I stayed for your incredible playing. The only problem I have with this video is that for some reason I would like to think I would/could sound like this if I bought a Carr amp but even I know better than that. I will never approach this sound because, honestly, I am a lousy player and you, my friend, are fantastic! You are so much fun to listen to. Maybe I'll see you play live someday as I'm just down the road in Bulverde. Cheers, and keep playing my friend!
Thanks Doug! Appreciate the good words man! Yeah, I feel the same every time I buy a new guitar! But great amps make it all a bit easier! I'll send you a message the next time we get east of Austin! All the best, RG
@@RodneyGeneJunior thanks for the reply! Have you compared the 10in vs. 12in? Edit: I see you're doing a demo of the 10in. Hope you can share some differences. Thanks!
First , happy new year and all the best wishes. A great performance. Thanks for that.👍🙂🎸🎸 Great sound. Great amp, great guitars, fantastic pickups and a really great guitar player 🙂🙂🎸 Greetings from Germany and The Cute Urchins 🎸🎸
Nice demo! I have a Rambler, love it but I only play at home and seems a bit too much amp, this could be my perfect solution. I wonder how it takes pedals though.
Cheers, thank you for the listen and comment! I am demoing the 1-10 version now - i'll throw some pedals in the mix now that I have showcased the amp OD. Without the 4th generation attenuator, those 10 watts are WAY TOO loud to open up in my own studio! Alot of headroom! 😎🎶🔥 I suspect it is going to be an excellent platform!
Many thanks! Yes, yes and...yes! Except for The Johhny A tune 'Oh Yeah', I used the ADM Effectron delay from the 80's along with the amp verb. Analog delay, I mention it in the vid. Thank you for listening!
Seasons greetings, Rodney. Sounds great, and nice and versatile. Carr couldn't have anyone better to show off those tones - the Bond theme on that Grez had me grinning from ear to ear. Is that the short-lived Fender Elite you're playing? They vanished off the face of the earth, and I've never seen one in the flesh, but that sounds terrific. Is it nice to play? Where did it come from? I'm intrigued.
Thank you! I appreciate the good words, means alot! The Grez and that classic greasy Rockabilly tone! Yeah, good eye! 1984 Fender Esprit! From the short lived Fender Made In Japan's answer to the Les Paul! It's 25.5 scale like a Fender, this one I installed Nick Silver Low Wind pickups and I added the coil tap switch myself. These guitars play like a dream! Lowest smoothest action of all my guitars.
@@RodneyGeneJunior Cool! I wondered about the pickups - that Elite has a lovely 50s low-power humbucker tone...Greg Koch calls it the "super Tele" sound. Cheers, Rodney, you're a gem!
@@slowjammerukdog Cheers! Yeah, RF pretty well put that guitar on the radar when Talk To Your Daughter was released and the cover showed him holding one. Certainly my reason for getting one.
Soul for days, RGJ, no matter what you play. Quick question - can you recommend three Fender Super Reverb alternatives, as heads (or combos if you think that’s best)?
