I am very impressed with the "Carr" amplifiers. SO versatile and sound so sweet. And I also enjoy your playing Rodney, very much! Just stumbled across your channel today and now subbed.
This soulman reminds me of......well me!! The Original Diesel Polkabilly. He's perched precariously on the front edge of the beat. Most obviously not a mere passenger, this cat OWNS The bus. Plays with my own" Bring it" style. Rock-It!! Rodney Gene Jr.. Whoops!! Steve's Ampbaby sounds great. I own # 007.
Rodney, i am utterly convinced i can give you a broken comb, somehow plug that into a busted 5watt Ashton amp and you will still make it rock. I wish i had 0.001% of your talent. Live long and prosper good sir!
I LOVE my 1x15 Rambler! It's a huge sounding amp with a lot of clean headroom. Not like a Twin Reverb of course. But the Rambler just sounds so great. Indeed, a classic!
This amp has an underrated overdrive sound. I crank this amp to 10 and use the volume knob on my guitar to dial back from there and it's such a great sound
Oh yeah, you've really got to get the mid control up most of the way to get this amp to break up (at least in my experience with my Tele). But when you do, it's a killer old school Fender kind of breakup, just smoother and more defined than any old Fender I've played. Great demo! Really dug your Lincoln demo, too. I eventually want to get a Lincoln to rock with my Rambler. Sorta the holy trinity of classic amp voicings between the two of them!
@@RodneyGeneJunior your a really fun player to listen to. Your really good at jumping around in different styles like rock, country, blues, swing, it's great. Keeps it really interesting and inspires me to pick up my guitar. Keep playing friend!!!
Cheers, thanks for the listen and comment! Indeed! Using the BOSS was intentional (it's a great vintage OD) and it had to be a lower-volume demo. I find pedals sound the way they are supposed to through a properly made - well voiced amp. The pedal gain was usually at 0.5 - 1.0 and maxed at 2.5. which keep the majority of the pedal drive absent. For me, pedals are like table salt. They compliment a great meal, but they can't compensate for a poor one. The Rambler's tone stack and gain stage takes pedals really well, though in many clubs I don't need them. One of the reasons the Rambler is considered such a perfect club amp. Cheers, RG
Thanks D Beach! I really appreciate the listen and comment! It's a REALLY fun amp! Backing tracks I made myself! I most often do. My suggestion is Band In A Box! GREAT for backing tracks! Cheers,RG
I think I need this explained to me: All top of the line guitars, beautiful boutique Rambler, yet of all overdrives, an OD-3? Is it its reliability? I’m sorry, but for tone there are many better options than an OD-3 and I honestly don’t understand the choice.
I think the fact that Rodney used the OD-3 is great - just proves a couple of points. First, overdrive pedals are overrated and it’s the amp that’s really important. Second, the OD-3 is a really underrated overdrive pedal!
All good. I think maybe that is just a misunderstanding about the OD-3. As someone with a massive collection of high-end and boutique overdrives, it was chosen because of how fantastic it is. Price aside. The OD-3 lineage was 'boutique' long before the boutique market. It is an excellent touch sensitive, highly dynamic OD that was copied by the majority of modern pedal makers to some degree. If you can get one, please compare it with your OD of choice (Timmy, Prince Of Tone, OCD, Nobles, Paisley drive, etc...) it doesn't just hold its own, it is one of the originators. As a professional studio player I have no bias over name or origin, just love the right tone when I find it.
