Thanks for the reminder. This looks exactly like the WW2 vintage 1911 that I carried on patrols of the Trust Territories of the Pacific in the mid-1960s, on the Island of Guam, the Philippines and in Vietnam.

1911 is an iconic pistol. My father is a retired military man. We taught for basic and practical shooting. However, my dad sell this gun and invested in a little business and his in heaven already. Still misses this gun.! Stay safe everyone. Have a blessed day ahead.

The Turkish made 1911s that I own and have handled, are amazing reliability for the price. The ones I have used have no malfunctions so far. I like the "Battle Field" configurations due to the simplistic design which they followed in remaking them.

It's nice to see an affordable 1911. Okay, it doesn't have all the bells & whistles of a Kimber or an Ed Brown but not everyone needs that. If it's reliable, robust and reasonably accurate it will definitely work if the operator does their part. If necessary, get a tune-up on the trigger and you've got a proven platform without spending a ton of money. Well done, Sootch!
@johnterrell9201
@johnterrell9201 Месяц назад
If the trigger is too stiff, buy you some snap caps and snap it about 200 times and the trigger will get better and you will not waste any ammo or hurt your gun in any manner.

That's certainly NOT a WW1 1911. It's the 1911A1 variant that has a shorter hammer to reduce hammer bite, curved main spring housing, and scallop cuts behind the trigger to shorten the reach and allow you to get your finger into the trigger easier.

Additional thought for the video. Trigger pull. On the Glock and some Police Pistols, Agencies required a heavy trigger pull on the Service weapons. New York City had a much more heavy tigger pull on its Glock Firearms. As to the 1911, personally, the weight of the trigger pull for a single action or a striker type action is resolved with a crisp trigger release. Not so much the weight but the actuation of the sear. But again, it is me.

1911 is one of the best designed guns ever, they are bombproof, all steel or you can get the aluminum frame versions (or even some plastic frame versions), endless amounts of aftermarket parts and support and you can get them in everything from 22 lr, 380, 9mm, 40, 45, 10mm and beyond...everyone should have one, it is a very safe pistol to carry and tends to be the choice of experts, due to the accuracy, tunability and unique, easy to operate trigger. The 45 cartridge is very hard to beat for on target performance, especially if you know how to tune a 1911 to shoot hp's, then you can use hst's or other 45 auto rounds that open to an inch and penetrate deep...basically a 12 gauge slug in a handgun, and that's no joke. These 1911's coming out of Turkey and the Philippines are really nice and are one of the best deals for the dollar you can spend.

Squeezing the trigger isn't a part of 1911 disassembly - especially when you're just going to rack the slide (recocking the hammer) to get it to the SS removal position anyway! It's not only unnecessary, but counterproductive because it adds the mainspring's resistance to slide retraction.

9mm in a 1911 is sacrilege. It was designed by Browning for the .45ACP, not 9mm. That 1911 looks like an A1 with the palm swell or arched mainspring housing, longer grip safety spur, shorter hammer spur, wider front sight, frame cut behind the trigger, and shorter trigger. It has all the A1 features that straight 1911s don't. I also prefer a standard USGI 1911A1 .45ACP to any modern 1911 version on the market today. This one looks great and with the tighter fit is accurate. At right around the $400 mark is priced right. Thanks for sharing.
